I am not a great pilot and I don't have a joystick, so I never really got into making planes. But, with contra-rotating ducted fans, even a numbskull like me can put a plane on the helipad! It doesn't work except with the the fans glued tip-to-tail like this, though. Not sure why.
No matter what configuration or size the fans are, the top speed of an airplane powered with these seems to be about 270m/s. And, so long as there is daylight, I can travel at that speed with no fuel forever.
This configuration also seems to glue the plane to the sky and makes acceleration and deceleration nearly instantaneous. It is definitely easy mode.
Gave the old P-3 a paint job, think it turned out nice. Using AP+, Kerbal Powers modpack and TURD, TUFX and Conformal Decals
Dropping it into the ocean was 100% the intent and not me not being able to pinpoint the drop zone.
Performs great in both bvr and dogfight scenarios. Fitted with the latest R90 missiles.
Recreation of the R505S from Ace Combat: Electrosphere
low part count version of my AH-56 Cheyenne
Actually lands fine once you get the hang of it.
Handled a South Polar Route nicely and without problems desu.
Flying beautifully with Gotha's Flag Carrier Gothansa. Totally not borrowed name btw.
