New to Kia and considering K4

If I may please has your inputs, I’ve been looking at a new daily and the K4 jumped out at me as the most attractive option both aesthetically and for the features you get for the price. I’m currently leaning towards the hatchback due to the (I feel slightly better) aesthetics than the sedan (but still like the sedan) and am debating what trim level to get and engine/drivetrain.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

For background; I’ve never financed or leased a car, but my past vehicles have been a ‘97 Lincoln Town Car Cartier, ‘03 Mercury Sable LS sedan, ‘03 Toyota Sequoia SR5, and currently ‘03 Mercedes C320 4matic wagon.

Painting problems K4 HB

I decided to paint the emblems using vinyl spray, but after letting it sit for a few hours, the paint—along with the "piano black" plastic finish underneath—suddenly started peeling up. Now I can't find replacement parts anywhere. Should I remove everything from the affected area and file a warranty claim, or should I just keep searching for the parts?

How smooth is ur 8AT in the k4 GT Line Turbo?

How smooth is ur 8AT in the k4 GT Line Turbo?

Recently i reached 1000km on my k4 gt line turbo and i have always noticed the gearbox to sometimes have very very slight rubber band effect/pull back effect whenever the car changes it gears while driving (example 1st to 2nd or 3rd to 4th gear). At times it will feel smooth but sometimes there’s a small pull back effect.

Furthermore at 1350km i pushed the car harshly reaching 5k rpm or 6k I forgot reaching speeds of 160? 170 i forgot too lol. After that i learnt that the break in period of a engine is 1600km? But manual says 1000km

So my question is.. is my mild rubber band effect normal whenever car shifts? Is my engine and gearbox okay from what i did considering it’s a new car and the mileage was still 1350km that time.

Note : First oil change was done at 1009km

Seeking advice for service of kia k4

Hi everyone, looking for some advice since this is my first car.

I bought a 2025 Kia K4 in Canada in December 2025 and have only driven about 3,000 km so far. I just got an email from the dealership for my first service appointment.

The service includes:
- Change engine oil and engine oil filter
- Courtesy inspection
- Check & adjust all fluid levels and lubricate as needed

The kia app shows the following under service schedule:
Current mileage: 2,907 km
10,093 km left
190 days left

I’m confused whether I should keep the appointment or cancel/postpone it since the car hasn’t even reached 8,000 km yet.

For those in Canada, especially with Ontario winters, would you still do the oil change based on time rather than mileage?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Looking to get a K4 Gt Line Turbo

I’m looking at going fully loaded GT Line Turbo, and was wondering what everyone is getting on highway mpg? I tend to drive with a heavy foot but am trading in my 4Runner for one of these because I’m getting eaten alive by gas.

What have been your regrets about your purchase?

Will I be able to fit my golf clubs in the trunk?

I drove both the regular and hatchback today, and while I like the hatchback, I don’t wanna have to fold my seats down to load up my golf clubs.

I wanna know all the good, bad, and ugly about this car!

Badge removal

Recently bought a K4 GT turbo hatch as a daily, and I’m wondering if anybody knows if behind the badges is a hole, or if their glued on, I’m interested in de-badging it, but I don’t wanna leave open holes on the car.

Thanks!
