I bought an i20 N Line N8 Manual in November 2024.
I was guessing I’ll drive it around 5-8k every year but the odo is at 30k before it could complete 2 years. And hence my petrol expenses every month is also staggering. Any where between 8k to 22k, about 11k on average.
The car has 38 payments left Rs. 17,100 pm.
I’m considering exchanging it for a Diesel Sonet, pay nothing extra, take a fresh loan for 60 months. The idea is the extra payments made will pay for itself with a higher resale value.
I also considered the AT variants, but heard the efficiency is equally bad so that’s something that I’d like to hear too.

I also considered an EV, as it will be cheaper and easier to drive in the city but none of the models are fitting the math. Also the resale value is doubtful in case I feel like selling it later.

Should I get the Sonet, not really an upgrade just financially sounds better, or should I save up and upgrade to a better Diesel/ EV with better range?
Any other suggestions are also welcome.

I own a Kia Sonet HTK+ 1.0 Turbo Petrol iMT, purchased about a year ago. The odometer is currently at around 5,500 km.

The best mileage I’ve managed so far is around 15 km/l, while in city driving I usually get only 8–10 km/l. Initially I was concerned, but after seeing other owners’ experiences, I understand that this is fairly common with the Turbo Petrol.

does the mileage generally improve as the car gets more kilometers on it, or should I expect it to remain around the same?
