Started streaming Matiks and honestly didn’t expect this

I’ve been trying to figure out what to stream on Kick/Twitch, and I randomly started playing Matiks on stream.
I usually play for at least 45 minutes, sometimes with a bit of YouTube on the side, but Matiks has become the main thing.
I’ve streamed around 6+ hours so far, and somehow the highest viewer count reached around 45, which I’m pretty happy about considering I’m just starting out.
Honestly, thanks to everyone who stopped by and watched. ❤️
Let’s see where this goes.

Should YOU stream on Kick? (Day 4 of my kick experience)

Yes & no. I’m still pretty new to streaming.

I started streaming on TikTok LIVE 53 days ago with 183 followers and now I’m at a little over 18K, mostly from LIVE. I haven’t had a livestream clip go viral yet, so almost all of my growth came from actually streaming.

4 days ago, I decided to try Kick because I wanted a better revenue split. TikTok has been great for growth, but the payout structure is rough. I’ve received 100+ galaxies from supporters, and while I was paid fairly, TikTok still took a much larger cut.

My first day on Kick, someone from TikTok came over and dropped 500 Kicks ($5). It went quiet for a bit, then today someone else from TikTok came over, subscribed, and gifted 19 subs.

I’m now sitting around $99.80 after 4 days, which is honestly crazy to me.

But here’s what I’m wondering: is this sustainable?

Kick hasn’t really helped me grow yet. Almost everyone coming over is someone I originally built on TikTok, and I’m worried I can only bring so many people over.

So far, my biggest takeaway is:

If you’re brand new with no audience, I wouldn’t recommend starting with Kick or Twitch alone. TikTok LIVE seems much better for discovering small creators and building a community from scratch. Once you have an audience, moving to or multistreaming on other platforms makes way more sense.

I’m only 4 days into this journey, so I’d love to hear from experienced streamers & does anyone think I actually have a chance with this?

Which Webcam Background Looks The Best?

I have been experimenting with my stream recently and realized my webcam is probably the weakest aspect.

I don't have enough money for a green screen, so I decided blurring my background would be a good alternative.

I posted 3 pictures to this post. The first is no blur, second is 50% blur, and third is 100% blur.

Which set up looks the best for streaming? I play video games for my stream so it will be smaller in a corner of my screen. The webcam is barely ever the full size you are seeing it now.

If you have any other suggestions, I would love to hear that to!

Thank you for helping me!

Going to stream Bitwig!

Hey everyone!

I’m getting ready to launch a regular live stream focused on working inside Bitwig Studio, and I wanted to invite the r/bitwig community to hang out, share ideas, and talk shop.

What the streams will cover:

  • Sound Design & Modulations: Patching in The Grid, building custom chains, and pushing Bitwig’s native modulators.
  • Music Production: From initial track sketches to full arrangement and sound sculpting.
  • Mixing & Mastering: Signal flow, routing tricks, native FX processing, and finishing tracks inside the DAW.

My main goal is to keep these streams casual and interactive—a place to break down creative techniques, answer questions, or just provide some audio-focused background noise while you work on your own projects.

I’ll be posting stream schedules, quick clips, and live updates over on Instagram: thecimal

I will be in Bitwig Discord too during the stream, so you can have me: wavesofthem
Give a follow there if you want to stay in the loop for when I go live. Also, feel free to drop a comment below on what kind of Bitwig topics, native plugins, or workflows you'd be most interested in seeing covered!

Hope to see some of you there!

For those who stream on Kick how long did it take you to get subs?

As the title says, how long did it take you guys to start getting subs because I managed to get my button activated a week ago and to be honest, I didn’t exactly of the highest expectations. I’m just curious though how long it took before you started getting subs.

I learned about Ghost Chatters the other day

I learned about ghost chatters the other day and it finally put a name to something that always bothered me while streaming.
It’s when someone comes into your stream, starts a conversation, apparently they start a conversation by asking things like “How are you?”, so you reply and try to talk with them… and then they just leave without answering back. They never return either.
Apparently it’s also called hit-and-run conversation. Even if it only happens once, it can feel pretty disrespectful because you put in the effort to engage and then get left hanging.
Just sharing in case it helps anyone else who deals with the same thing. Though I think I’ll just ignore those types of people or block them. But are there better ways to handle them?

Is it worth getting the game dead by daylight?

OK, so I’ve been thinking over and over again on whether or not to get dead by daylight because I don’t know it seems like a fun game to stream but the reason why I’m a little cautious about it. It’s because of how it’s infamous for being a cesspool of toxicity isn’t as bad or is that over exaggerated and is it worth getting?
