I want to make a Scottish/Celtic folk sounding track and I was really inspired by The Night Watch from Starless And Bible Black, and there's a really distinctive bagpipe-esque sound (from the Mellotron I think?) and plays a very Scottish folk type solo. Does anybody know how they managed that?

1. Calm seagull noises while some guy tells us to wait

2. Man takes tape recorder on a walk and immediately regrets it

3. Man discovers thesaurus and starts listing words related to speech

4. Interlocking guitars create illegally good rhythm

5. Contemplative ambience

6. Floaty vocals over intermittent crazy guitar

7. I repeat myself when under stress x4. I LIKE IT 👍

King crimson is supposed to be prog. THATS what i want not whatever LGBT signaling was being shoved into the 80s lyrics. listen to Indiscipline again seriously. I repeat myself when under stress” and all this stuff about identity and the painting and not being able to properly explain yourself. and then Neurotica is a doozy. Identity alienating in city living yeah ok i’ve heard this one before. Super vague lyricism where you can just insert whatever contemporary identity politics you want into it and suddenly its queer coded ,WTF? “words are just noises”. language doesnt mean anything, everything is subjective identity is whatever you say it is etcetcetc. at some point the amount of nothing has a fixed meaning stuff gets obvious. And before some guy with bacon for eyes tells me “ROBERT FRIPP ISNT TRANSSEXUAL” I KNOW. THATS NOT WHAT IM SAYING.

Im saying i dont want this in music. I dont care if its subtle. I dont care if its open to interpretation. U make every lyric vague enough and then 30 years later some idiot tries to relate it to their hormonal disposition

I don’t hate adrian belew by the way. He’s a great musician and his contribution to the band is undebatable But he should have gave the powdered pen a break. And to these new fans:
