Leo’s gonna beat cancer!
Not sure if this is allowed here but,
Our sweet 7 year-old dog, Leo, was diagnosed with mast cell tumor cancer last week. We've had him since he was only 10 weeks old, and he has been our best friend ever since. He is the gentlest, kindest dog I've ever known. He has never hurt a fly and is amazing with our daughter, our 2 other dogs and 5 cats…and every animal he's ever met lol. He loves everyone and everything!
One of my favorite memories of Leo is from my pregnancy. Every morning after my fiancé left for work, Leo would climb into bed, lay in his spot with his head on the pillow, and stay there with me until I got up. He never left my side throughout my entire pregnancy. Looking back now, I truly can't imagine going through pregnancy or being postpartum without him by my side. He has been my constant source of comfort through every stage of becoming a mom. :,)
Leo now has two tumors that need to be surgically removed, along with blood work, X-rays, radiographs, and additional testing to determine if the cancer has spread. His vet referred us to a good surgeon 2hrs away from us & we’ll be headed that way Tuesday morning! Right now he’s in for a consultation and possibly same day surgery as long as his internal images come out good and whatever else. Fingers crossed we can get it done that day because I’m ready for all of this to be over if I’m being honest..
