I'm a member of an online forum where we've discussed Knots Landing for more than a decade, dissecting it from practically every angle.

One of the members once typed their opinion that Knots Landing had "different eras" over the course of its fourteen seasons.

In their opinion, they saw the show having three different eras:

1. The Every Man Neighborhood (Seasons 1–4)

2. The Lotus Point Glamour Era (Seasons 5–9)

3. The Corporate Sumner Group (Seasons 10–14)

There was another member that echoed a different layout of the shifting times and directions of the show, but what say you?

Do you see Knots Landing as having different eras and evolving and evolving with the times?

Just saw it and the way Gary draws out “liiiivveeesss” is ridiculous.

Any word on if that was a decision made by Ted?

Or did the directors want him to say that line like that?

Keep in mind I’ve seen this show before. It’s just been years so most of it feels new to me. I don’t like the whole vibe and appearance of season 11. It’s not necessarily bad if it had been that way from the beginning but the jump from previous season is distracting. The lighting, new camera angles, the music. It doesn’t have the cozier feel of previous seasons.

I was watching Knots on the WB Primetime Soaps streaming channel, and after season 9 episode 7, they abruptly switched over to Sisters. There's still 4 and a half seasons of Knots left to show...have they done this before?

Omgoodness! Can Jean please just go away? I cannot stand her or this storyline. Poor Ben was a good guy.
