Card “Ukraine” Palace of Culture. Kyiv, 1970

Historical note

The Palace of Culture ‘Ukraina’ was officially opened in April 1970. The construction was carried out according to the project of an architectural team (Y. Marochenko, P. Saradula, I. Karakis) led by Y. Novikov. The building was erected on the site of the former Volodymyrsky Market. The interiors and technical equipment of the 3,714-seat concert hall made it one of the most advanced venues in the USSR, designed for both party congresses and large-scale concerts.

Present day

Currently, the site is officially named the National Palace of Arts ‘Ukraina’. The building has preserved its original architectural appearance and continues to function as the country’s main concert and official venue, hosting performances by leading Ukrainian and international artists.

Electrician recommendations?

One outlet in the kitchen of my apartment started to smell of burning plastic 2 days ago. When I moved in a month ago, there was a brown burn mark at the left side of the outlet so I have never tried using it. Today it started melting off the wall. The apartment owner has told me this has been going on a long time, that it's fine. However, I am quite worried about this escalating to a fire soon.

I am willing to just pay for it out of pocket at this point, the smell of burning plastic is so awful and the fear of a fire freaks me out. Any recommendations appreciated.

Lingerie shops in Kyiv. Putting together a mystery box for my girlfriend and have 2 weeks to shop around.

I already know Intimissimi. Perhaps you can recommend some smaller or local shops?

Anyone in Kyiv up for a coffee?

Всім привіт! I’m a foreigner living and working in Kyiv for a couple of years now, but lately I’ve found it difficult to connect with people outside of work or family circles. I would love to meet new people and build new connections, as I’ll be staying in the country for an indefinite period))

I speak French, English, Spanish, and have an A2 level in Ukrainian (still learning).

Feel free to reach out if you’re interested in doing something together! До зустрічі)

Reddit Power For Ukraine 2026!

Welcome to one of the largest multi sub fundraising competitions on Reddit! In honor of Ukraine's fourth year of defending itself and Europe from Russia's aggression, from June 26th to July 3rd, we and 30 other subreddits have partnered with UkraineAidOps (UAO) and will be banding together to see who can support the Ukrainian Army the most! Team Neoliberal has set a lofty goal of raising $100,000 USD

Why donate?

UAO is a US-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity that has been supporting Ukraine's defenders and civilians since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion. They have a proven track record of effectiveness and are a verified charity on r/Ukraine

Your money does real good! With the sudden buildup, and subsequent invasion by Russia, Ukraine's government saw it's capacity to supply their army outpaced by the sheer mass of the onslaught during the first desperate months of the war. But through the help of millions of donors and several devoted charities assisting where the government couldn't easily, Ukraine was able to extract a devastating toll on Putin's army.

The goal for this event in UAO's words is:

>[We wish] to make the biggest possible impact on the battlefield. We aim to achieve this by applying these key equipment piece: > >* Ground drones (UGVs) that resupply forward positions and evacuate wounded across fields no truck or pickup can survive >* Heavy-lift transport drones for the "last mile" — moving ammo, supplies, and "Vampire" drone batteries to the line without a single soldier on the road >* Vehicles / Pick-Ups to improve logistics near the frontline and in the rear >* Support and energy equipment (including generators, powerstations, starlinks, drone detectors and more)"

By donating, you will not only assist in defending the life and liberty of a stranger, but will also directly invest in a safer, more just future, because as we've all seen for years, Ukraine knows how to make a dollar go far, and therefore have become one of the most skilled militaries of all time.

Will there be rewards for donating?

Yes, no, and yes:

Yes: courtesy of UkraineAidOps, you can request one of several different gifts by filling out the form via the "REQUEST YOUR PATCH/FLAG" button after your donation

No: /r/neoliberal will not be giving out custom flairs or our other typical Against Malaria Drive rewards - this is something different!

Yes: those who post their reddit username on the built in donor wall on team Neoliberal will be eligible to pick from one of three awards (pictured here) for the top three highest donations:

  • A keychain made from a shot down Russian Sukoi-34 multirole jet
  • A painted keychain made from a 7.62 shell casing from the Battle of Kherson 2022
  • A fridge magnet from twosoulscreation

These rewards will be distributed by /u/WithUnfailingHearts. After the event is over, they will message the winner on Reddit on July 5th. The winner will then have 10 days to make a selection of one of the above rewards. After this is complete, the second place winner will get to pick a reward, then the third. If anyone does not respond during the 10 day window or does not want a reward, the opportunity to choose will go to the next top donor.

Please note that while the /r/neoliberal mods will do our best to facilitate a smooth transaction, this is ultimately a promise made by /u/WithUnfailingHearts. You will need to share a valid shipping address with them to receive a reward. While we have complete faith in WithUnfailingHearts, the moderators of /r/neoliberal do not possess these rewards and cannot provide a guarantee that you will receive them

Sincere thanks to WithUnfailingHearts for all their work done organizing this drive

Interview Request

Hey there,

I am a young german freelance journalist from Berlin visiting Kyiv in the first week of August. As probably many other western journalists these days, I focus on the general situation and the feelings of the people in the capital towards the war, Europe, their own government etc.

I would love to hear from some of you if you'd like to have a chat in Kyiv about these issues of if you have a story you would like to tell. If you are interested, simply comment down here or send me a PM, so I can provide proof of my identity and my past and current work and can get in touch with you.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
