Question for my true vinyl collectors re: Aphrodite and KMO reissues

I ordered both Kiss Me Once and Aphrodite reissues from Amazon. Today I received KMO and I am shocked at how shitty it is. It's the flimsiest, cheapest gatefold I've ever seen and the vinyl is the same. I haven't seen vinyl this thin and flimsy outside of records from the 70's and 80's. I have nearly 500 albums and this is one of the cheapest pressings I have ever seen, especially in the current times. More than the physical disappointment, the record also sounds so flat. It has NO depth at all. I tried messing with the bass, treble, volume. Somehow it always sounds 1 dimensional, it doesn't have a full sound with good depth. I am severely disappointed and now I wonder if I should cancel my Aphrodite order in case it's the same.

Can anyone who is a serious vinyl junkie who knows what I am talking about with depth and clarity let me know what you think? I have been SO excited for these reissues and I am so bummed about this.

Also to note: I got the blue X pressing and while the packaging is also flimsy, the record is definitely more substantial and has better weight, depth, and clarity to it. If there's one I can pass up, it's KMO but I thought it would be fun to round out the collection. X and Aphrodite are super special to me. I really don't want to have the same experience with the Aphrodite re-issue.

Fever themed tattoo?

Hi everyone!

I want to get a tattoo in honor of Fever's 25th anniversary later this year. I'm wondering if anyone has a fever-related tattoo or has any ideas for one! I tend to prefer minimalist images for tattoos, but I'd love to see any complex work people have too!

My two ideas:

- the fever microphone

- a butterfly in the sun (for the reference to the US release of Butterfly on Fever as opposed to Light Years), also potentially a nice tie-in to Fragile, which is fun because Fragile and Butterfly are my favorites on the album.

Why is KMO on Spotify so messed up?

I just realized (realized) that on Spotify “If Only” lyrics are screwed up and wrong, while the picture for “Mr. President” is something random.

Plus, the album is listed 4 times when you look for it (3 with the standard version and 1 with a ITB remix) and there’s another version (called special with Mr. President) that can be found only randomly.

“Sparks” is available while “Sleeping with the enemy” is not. Who’s in charge for all of this?

New CD reissues

Love these. I know these originally came out in 2024 and the Japanese editions are in jewel cases (which I can't afford at the moment). Looking forward to listening to these albums again. As well as the new Japanese Madonna bonus track (nothing too special just the same one or two bonus tracks from the previous editions) album reissues coming out next month on her own site.

Heart Beat Rock.....Why?!

That song is so bad, it's bland, forgettable and really does nothing good. How and why did she agree to it? Lol. I see it at the bottom on the album reviews as well. I was just listening to X and enjoying it until it came on 😮‍💨

Body Language

I'm surprised so many fans think Body Language is average or bad.

As someone that has only become a big fan of Kylie I personally think it's one of her best albums . I love the fact she went in other direction.

I don't think there's a bad song on the album. Even if the singles didn't stand out to me like they do to other fans I think the album is golden (no pun intended)

My favourite album is Impossible Princess but I think this album might be just as experimental and daring.

Top 3 personal tracks

Loving Days - such a beautiful haunting song. Its like Madonna's Ray of Light but a little bit more electronic and pop.

Promises- it's such a catchy sexy song. Yes it does sound manufactured and cheesy but maybe that's the point.

Someday - This is probably my favourite track. It's the one song that hardly any fans really love. It's French electronic meets English pop. I think it's possibly Kylie's most underrated track .

Alternate versions found on EMI Promotional only VCD

Hi! While going through a pile of random bulk discs my sister found at the market I saw this one and it interested me. Upon putting it in my dvd player I found it was a bunch of Kylie stuff. No expert on her lol, I’ve only heard the popular stuff that would have played in the radio years ago, so thought I’d come here. It’s a VCD.
The following is the order stuff played:
MV for Can't Get You Out of My Head,
MV for In Your Eyes,
MV for Spinning Around,
Mv for On a Night Like This,
then audio only what sounds like maybe a club remix for Can’t Get You Out of My Head,
same for In Your Eyes,
same for Spinning around,
then what I believe are the normal audio only versions of Boy and Rendezvous At Sunset.

I’m just curious if anyone would have a clue what the remixes would be, or if anyone’s interested in a rip if it happens to be unheard/some kind of lost media? That’d be cool but it’s likely something already out there. I’ll track down my external disc reader if anyone is actually interested in a rip, but if there is an obvious answer to what these are I won’t bother. Almost all of the songs/videos cut off abruptly, the disc is a little rough since it wasn’t in a case, so I don’t know the length btw.

Such a Kylie Song!

So, I mean no disrespect to Carly Rae Jepson because she’s a very talented pop song writer but I heard her latest song, “Don’t Leave Me On The Dance Floor” and I nearly fell off of my metaphorical chair! It could so have been a Kylie song! Have a listen… YouTube

Love Sensation Debuts at #8 on UK Charts!

Madonna scores her 65th UK Top 10 hit and Kylie her 37th.

Love Sensation (Afterhours Remix) was also the week’s highest new entry on the Official Charts.

And “sensationally,” the track becomes Madonna’s highest-charting single in 17 years, since Celebration reached #3 way back in 2009…

Confessions II has now produced 3 Top 40 singles in the UK, with Bring Your Love reaching #29 and Danceteria #38. Madonna’s last album to produce 3 Top 40 singles was Hard Candy in 2008.

There’s nothing that they cannot do! ❤️

Some love for Heartstrings

This Xenomania production is perfect for late summer and feels like it’s been forgotten. I rarely see it come up in discussions of her b-sides. It’s not even streaming on Spotify Japan. I have such a fond memory of picking up Aphrodite in Tower Records Tokyo summer 2010 just to have this song. Has always felt like a spiritual sister to Made of Glass.

X is looking at being in the top 10 in the UK album charts this week. But why?

I am obviously not complaining but i am just wondering why X has shot up the album chart so rapidly all of a sudden. This is the chart update so it could fall a bit but still its just high regardless. Does anyone know whats brought this on.

Its low key one of my favourite Kylie albums. Like a drug should have been a single!

What super catchy Kylie songs have you discovered very recently?

I just discovered Red Blooded Woman and I Believe in You couple of days ago and both are so catchy. IBIY has that 2k nostalgia sound and RBW is a bop on its own. It’s the second song from that album i have discovered after Slow which i love too.

Are There Any Deeper Albums?

Hello, all! I've been listening to Kylie for about 6-7 years now on and off; I've listened to Aphrodite, Disco, X and Tension and some of the hits.

I was wondering if Kylie at some point used to make "deeper" music? Don't get me wrong, I love fun and I love dance music, I love these albums, but it feels for most of these albums the topics are largely the same; dancing, getting away from a boyfriend, or loving a guy lol.

I especially enjoy tho No More Rain, Stars, and Story, because lyrically they're a little different. So does Kylie have any albums that are more introspective or have a more political tone?
