Anyone else noticing the shower curtain disappearing? It seem like over the last few months, they are being taken down and not replaced. My girlfriend said this is not happening in the women's locker room thought. Only the men's? Any reason for this? Now we are forced to shower in the view of others?
I joined in 2010, with multi club access. Signature Clubs didn't exist at the time. Reviewing the membership agreement, I don't see any language that would exclude me from LA Fitness locations with a "signature club" sign on them. I imagine this might have to be litigated at some point. Has anyone pressed the issue to get Signature Club access with an old membership? What happened?
There are rumors going around that the LA Fitness in Commack, NY will be closing in a month. Can someone please confirm this?
I have some questions
•I plan to bring my own equipment & kids supplies in a gym bag, can I keep it with me on the floor? Or do I have to put it in the lockers?
•I am confused about where to go to stretch, my location only had one room with mirrors, is that where I need to go? As long as they don’t have classes in there?
•If I need to do some workouts with some dumbbells, am I allowed to take them away from the rack area and into the mirrored room?
•I didn’t see anything to wipe down equipment..is this normal now? Or am I missing something?
•does the front desk need my id every time I use the kids klub? Do my kids need to wear socks? For some reason my eldest took her shoes off but no one else had their shoes off

New Club Studio is about to reopen by me. I’m considering joining but I need access to a pool. Does anyone know if the Club Studios have a pool, sauna, hot tub?
I have travel plans for 1 month where I will not be able to use the gym I signed up at. Is there a pause option for that single month?
My LA Fitness recently went an extreme overhaul, litteraly everyone who was working there no longer is...EVERYONE!
Now that new folks are in the mix, there has been a full swing culture change.
Are these just rule that should have been enforced before or signs of the time? Booty bar coming next??
Went on Sunday, and for the first time the front desk stops me, says I need to have a photo on file.
I declined, they said it was required or I have to have my drivers license. I asked for the rule in my contract that stated this. The rule read -
Upon entering the club, all Members are required to present their active Membership card or driver’s license or other government issued picture identification.
Without the Membership card or proper identification, LAF may prohibit your use of the facilities or may charge a guest fee for use of the facilities for that day.
I explained the word "or" is not "and" and I provided my membership the QR code from the app. They stated I must provide my identification and they had the right to refuse service.
Showed my drivers license and moved on.
Any one have any suggestion here - I'm assuming people at my location have been sharing the app QR code and abusing the system, so LA Fitness wants to check photo identification - fair enough. They are a business and I understand. However, the language in the contact is "or".
Any suggestions - I know a regular message to their home website will end up in a waste bid.
If all these la fitness are closing down will they offer new gyms? I bet in like 10 years la fitness won’t be around at all.
can I use my guest pass to share my membership with a friend? we would only go a couple times a week once a day, would we be able to keep doing that or would they have to get their own membership?
basically we share a membership but they only come with me & not more than once a day.
I go to four or five different LA Fitness locations in NJ
Sometimes I like to play racquetball, but that's not a big thing for me, I usually just focus on weightlifting and some stairmaster
Almost every location only has one or two leg extension machines, and there is sometimes a line forming for leg extension
I've avoided using the sauna for now because the are always like thirty dudes in there when I walk by
I might start swimming and using the hot tub
Ever since they bought out X sport now there’s closing down so many spots. Are they really gonna make that much more money with club Studios? This shit’s gonna suck when there’s gonna be no other ones that have the same price ranges LA fitness or X sport. You Really want to go to planet fitness?
This gym is like brand new and right across the street from my office so this really sucks. Any idea why it closed and if it's being replaced with another gym?
I am a biological male but look very feminine. Almost weekly, someone reports me to the front desk that there is a woman in the men’s locker room and staff comes over to question me.
Any advice?
And no I will not use the women’s because I am male plus more hassle if women find out there’s a biological male in their locker room
I understand what you might be thinking well you should have a barcode however, for the past about year, i've been using my phone number to sign in now, most employees usually don't care, but this one guy keeps on pressuring me into getting the app here's the biggest problem the app is totally useless besides the barcode and to be honest with you, I already pay for a membership so why do I have to have this stupid app it all just seems like a way for them, to make you spend more money on their useless scam worthy trainers garbage i also go there pretty frequently so I have to deal with this very often i understand the simple solution is to get the app but it's a lot harder when your accounts are registered with someone else's name and you have to set it up now it also feels pretty stupid because all the employees do is just sit around and get paid for literally takes them three seconds to put my phone number in.
About 2 months ago I signed up to a La Fitness Gym (Canada).
When I signed up for the gym I had a complementary fitness assessment offered by said gym. After the assessment, I was made to believe that I badly need personal fitness training because of multiple reasons (improper posture, high body fat percentage etc.)
So I was offered the program, caught in the moment I said "yes okay". I was first going for the cheapest but was pressured to go for the 600 CAD because the PTD was very persuasive.
So, I signed the contract which says 9 months. The day after, I called LA fitness again to cancel it, but then was lersuaded to give it a try under the pretense of cancelling it after 3 months.
Now my financial situation has changed and can no longer afford it, plus got a chronic back pain because of working so hard trying to make extra to pay for 600 CAD.
I need your help on the action I should take. I am already 2 months into the contract.
My gym has a “reserved” fitness area for PT. It’s got a cable machine, some kettlebells and resistance bands. There are no resistance bands anywhere else in the gym and normally before my back work outs, I like to use one to stretch.
Today a trainer told me I could not enter the area because of liability issues and that if I were to get hurt, they would be liable (sounds like BS to me). There were two trainers there, neither training a client.
Has anyone else heard of this?
He was a district vp and then regional vp for many years, apparently is the national director now.
Dude openly does drugs with his employees. Once told an employee who was pregnant that she should ‘get that tumor removed from her’. He also told me one time that he murdered someone a long time ago and that he got away with it bc no one was around to see.
Just wondering if any of you have any crazy stories about him as well
