HELP DO I EVEN HAVE MERIT SCHOLARSHIP?? why's fin aid not replying

OK so im an international student who applied to LMU extremely late like all the way at the end of April and was accepted into the Business around May 4th.

I noticed a line in my letter stating that merit scholarship notifications would be released 'in a few days.' Im not sure if that is a standard message that everyone receives, but I haven't received any updates yet. This is concerning esp given that LMU is known for its tuition. Paying full is crazy; it is around $101k, and they still do not even have AC in some of their freshman dorms.

Anyways I emailed the financial aid office, but I haven’t received a reply in like four or five days now. I ended up calling them yest directly, but the operators just transferred me to the international admissions desk, who then transferred me to OISS. OISS doesn't handle scholarships because that is completely outside of their department, so they just transferred me right back to Financial Aid. The staff there seemed completely confused as well.

So what's the plan at this point like Do I even have a scholarship? Should I email a specific guy, try to submit a formal appeal, or take another route? I am really unsure of how this process works for international students, esp since we don't qualify for FAFSA or standard domestic aid. What do I do..

LMU On-Campus Housing App. Submitted Day After LMU Housing Guarantee Deadline, Chances Of Still Getting Housing As Incoming Transfer Junior?

Hello Lions, I am an incoming transfer junior to LMU who just submitted my on-campus housing application today, May 19th. The LMU Housing Guarantee Deadline was yesterday, Monday, May 18 at 5:00 p.m., and LMU states applications received after the deadline will be honored on a space-available basis only.

What are the chances I am still able to secure on-campus housing in an apartment or suite? How cooked am I?

Course Registration

Hey! I'm an incoming freshman and I was just wondering if anyone has been able to access the registration tutorial yet. I see the tab for it on my list of preregistration tasks, but every time I click on it, it says "coming soon." I'm just wondering if this is a glitch since the deadline is on June 1st.

Additionally, it sounds like we have to meet with our counselors in order to officially register for courses? But we have to select a 3-hour timeframe between June 8-12? Can they get through that many freshman in just a week? Maybe I have all this wrong though... I'm confused lol

Also, do we have to be doing our own research on classes before the registration tutorial comes out? Or do they explain that to us in meetings?

Thank you!!

Dorm Help/Advice

Hello, I'm an incoming undergrad Freshmen and I needed some advice when it comes to the dorms.

  1. What would you rank the buildings? I like a very chill and clean area so I'd prefer not to stay somewhere that is super dirty and frankly gross.

  2. Which buildings/dorms have their own bathroom/shower? That is something really important to me as I'm a huge germophobe.

  3. What's the difference between a "Single traditional room" and a "single suite?" I've done some research to see what the difference is but I can't find much.

Any help is much appreciated, Thank you!

Two LMU basketball alumni just starred in a short film that premiered on Omeleto

Two LMU basketball alumni - Anthony Yu and Mayoum Mayoum - just starred in a short film called "Shot Clock" that premiered on Omeleto, the largest short film platform on YouTube. Pretty cool to see these two former Lions tearing it up on screen! (Full disclosure: I directed the film)

Logline: An Asian teenager and his friends hustle people at basketball. But when the smack talk gets personal, they must choose between easy money and their friendship.

Attending Graduation Advice

I'm flying in for my son's graduation this weekend. I've been around campus before during graduation time and it seems like it's really hard to get on campus. I won't have a car so I could Uber, but I'm not sure where I'd get dropped off. I wouldn't want the driver to have to fight to get on campus.

Alternatively, I could rent a car if needed. Also, I saw there was a shuttle from Playa Vista for overflow parking. I wondered if I could just Uber to there and take a shuttle? What if I could get dropped off on the back of campus?

Any advice?

SCU vs LMU

I am a current high school senior and I just got off the waitlist for santa clara university but I am already committed to LMU. I want to end up going to grad school and become a neurologist in the end. I also live in LA and have lived here my whole life so i have a know everything around LMU, SCU would be a whole new experience on that other hand but i heard it was a big party school and I am not big into parties or joining a sorority, so i’m worried about the social life. If i go to LMU i would be majoring in Psychology, if i go to SCU i would be majoring in neuroscience. Which school do you think is better for my end outcome and to end up with a good 4 years in undergrad but also make it my future career plan?
