Rearranged some of my sets and thought I'd have a mini-photoshoot!

It was great fun getting to play about with the sets and see all those lovely details I'd forgotten about since building.

If any of the better photographers on have any tips on how to avoid glare on the faces I'd be very grateful!

Do these look Lumibricks compatible?

Hi everyone, being in Sweden my online shopping options are limited, unless I want to pay extra and/or nuts shipping fees, so I'm using Temu. Their options are limited (are they geo-specific?)

Do these cables and sockets look compatible?

Does anyone know something about the release of the clinic, the photo store or the Movie tower in Europe? I thought they would release them today because of the anniversary

Lumibricks site cyperpunk expansion

Did anyone check the main Lumibricks site today?

I'm so hype they are explaining the Cyperpunk theme properly with 4 unique districts of Neon City. Also, it looks like finally the "slums" set alot of people really want may to released in more than 1 set and maybe also I'm thinking under the "Rust" district sub-theme.

This revamping seems to me like Cyperpunk is going to be getting the same level of narrative treatment the Steampunk theme got last year. I'm so here for it. Let's go!

Lumibricks Town Life Small Scene Series sets ...

Here are the first promotional images for this series of individual Town Life scenes inspired by their original sets ...

These are also great to use for a custom 16 stud wide modular building to fill in an empty retail space on the ground floor

A little bit lazy!

Huge fan of Lumibricks - my first was the cafe and I really loved the lights but it felt hard. So I built the art gallery with out them. And now I regret it because the gelato is so fricking cute.

Plus Tudor Lego which is obvi amazing!

Lumibricks Sunset Stopover Turbo Review

Watch the review here

or the breakdown below:

First up, what we like!

Nice small display / starter set
This is a nice little roadside build that works well as a desk display and also feels like a decent smaller entry point if you’re just trying Lumibricks out.

The pickup truck is the highlight
For me, the old-school pickup is easily the best part of the set. It looks great and has a lot of charm.

Truck lighting is especially well done
The headlights look really good and help the truck stand out even more.

Functional doors on the pickup
Always nice when a smaller vehicle still has a little functionality worked in.

Fits the roadside Americana theme
If you already have sets like the gas station or Twilight Motel, this one at least matches that general roadside feel.

Now, what we’d change.

Not enough room inside the truck
It’s hard getting the figure in and out, and side-by-side seating would have made this much better.

Should have connected better with existing sets
It fits the vibe, but it doesn’t really connect or blend well enough with the other roadside sets.

Telephone booth details could be better
The telephone itself feels underdone. A little better design work or printing would have helped.

Light strips don’t stick well enough
That gets annoying fast and definitely should be better.

Telephone booth sign should look more weathered
This scene has a slightly run-down roadside feel, so the sign should match that environment better.

Telephone booth feels oversized
The scale is a bit off compared to the figures.

Figures still need improvement
As always, I’d still prefer more realism and better articulation.

Closing thoughts

Overall, I’m giving this one 3.75 lightsabers out of 5.

For me, this set is mostly worth it for the pickup truck. The rest of the scene is cute, but I’ll probably end up parting most of it out. Curious what you all think: would you keep this set together, or mostly want it for the truck too?

Garden Cottage: Gorgeous end result, but a bit of a finicky build

Now that it's done, I really like how this looks. It's very cozy and pretty. The garden is detailed and intricate, but not overly difficult to put together like some big floral builds. The lighting effects add to the scene without overwhelming it. Some highlights:

  • The greenhouse is really cool-looking. The transparent pieces provide some interesting lighting effects. I like the transparent roof.
  • Details and arrangements. The garden and roof look very busy, but it's mostly modular and easy to build.
  • Overall aesthetics. It's a beautiful set. It succeeds at what it is trying to do.

Some things I would change:

  • Wire pinching. It happens throughout the set, but it's especially bad on the ground level. The whole set could have been raised by just 1 plate and avoided all pinching. Not sure why that wasn't done. But it is a bit annoying.
  • Instructions and order of operations. This is something Lumibricks usually excels at, but they aren't as good in this set. There is room for improvement in some of the order of operations. Some of this may have been fixed in the digital instructions (example, there is a fern build inside the cabin that does not work as built in the paper instructions, but was fixed in the digital instructions).

Overall, I was slightly frustrated with this build when I was in the middle of it. But by the time it was finished I started to really enjoy it. And now that it's done, it's beautiful.

If your main use case is display, I recommend this set. If you mainly enjoy the build experience, this is still OK, but there are better Lumibricks sets (for instance, Barbershop is an amazing build).

Two thumbs up for the Wild West Meeting Hall

I'd been really looking forward to this set and it didn't disappoint! Ordered it from Amazon with 10% discount, but I'd have still been happy with it at full price.

  • Nice selection of minifigs - 5, plus the lovely horse, and a giant cooked turkey.
  • The first couple of bags focus on the mechanism for the interior which swivels the pews. It's nicely complex and works well. The rest of the removable interior is really nicely dressed and would make a nice display on its own (though it's a shame the mechanism isn't covered at the front of the base). I took some of the printed pieces from the inside and scattered them outside so they could be seen, including the two prints from the ring-drawer which I attached to the cactus.
  • The building itself isn't overly complex, but really enjoyable, like building a brick-art set. It's really satisfying to fit each panel on, and I love the finished rustic wood effect. The tower was the most fun to build and really makes the set more eye catching. It seemed like it was going to be a smaller building, but it has a heft once it's finished and looks great with other Wild West sets.
  • I love that you can easily remove the roof panel and get a full view of the interior.
  • Lighting was simple compared to some sets but it's well spread out and lights up the set nicely. The interior lights are very bright when you have the roof panel removed but that's not a complaint. The touch sensor to turn on those lights can only be accessed with the roof removed. I can take or leave the touch-lights as I like my sets fully lit up, but if you like that kind of thing it works really well.
  • My only real complaint is that while the battery pack fits seamlessly into the build, the black USB connecting to the battery pack really sticks out (right where the carriage wheel is in the first photo). The wire is quite long, so I ended up just moving the battery pack to the back of the building, which meant I could settle the horse and carriage on that side instead.

All in all a really nice addition that I'd definitely recommend! Fingers crossed they release some of those lovely town sets soon.

A-Fram Cabin (Retired)

The A-Frame Cabin. I was lucky enough to get one and I’m so grateful it’s in my collection! I lost my dog two weeks ago and when the dog came into play, I started crying as my Ervin was my outdoor dog, my cabin dog, my fishing partner… oh he loved my outdoor adventures! I miss him.

The detail on this one is incredible! I loved the pine tree. Swing. Curtains. Telescope. The lady cooking over the fire. The man fishing. Piano. The rocker. 🥹

(Yes, I took the photos and edited them).

Police station

The building is small. None of the police cars fit in it, the larger one is even too high and catches on the garage door. Lighting is not a step forward either, because many elements that could light up do not light up. I hope that the cyberpunk series will show itself from a better side.
