How do I keep my throat open to chug water without swallowing?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been practicing how to chug water by basically pouring it straight down my throat without actively swallowing each gulp.

The problem is, I can't seem to keep the opening at the back of my throat open for more than maybe half a second to a second before my natural swallow reflex kicks in and closes it up.

Does anyone have tips, tricks, or specific muscle exercises on how to override this reflex and keep the throat relaxed/open for longer?
