Leather honey ruined my bag?

I have tried emailing and posting on Instagram but haven't been able to reach anyone from Leather Honey- I used the Leather Honey Conditioner wipes on a brand new natural leather bag from The Row and it now looks ruined- I'm not sure what to expect. I didn't realize you had to do a spot test based on your website and good reviews. It looks mottled and uneven. It is lightening up over time but still looks so uneven. Please let me know what to expect or if I'm not supposed to use the conditioner on untreated leather and it's now ruined.

New leather

I take it conditioner should be applied to a new leather jacket before I wear it. Are leather conditioning wipes used for this? Also, if the wipes may be used for this, does the water resistance still apply, or should a separate product be used for this?
