This is my main Lego display - I have some Botanicals in the office upstairs, but this is 95% of my collection. I have put a ton of effort into it over time, cutting out floor trim to fit the shelves, painting the white backdrop, installing flush lights into the drywall bulkhead, and making a custom minifigure shelf door cover.
However, even with all that, I'm unsatisfied. The whole thing feels sloppy, cluttery, and disorganized. Everything is in order, and the Star Wars stuff is even "chronological". But I just can't get it to feel right. On top of that, getting a new large set is a hassle to move everything around.
My idea for a next step is to "theme" each shelf with a large set and sprinkle the small sets in around each large one, so that each shelf feels more even. There are many shelves with large sets currently but I think some of the issue lies with have a bunch of shelves that only have small sets. I was also going to build some box drawers to sit on the carpet under each bottom shelf to store small "sprinkle" sets that don't currently fit anywhere. With the scale of the collection now any move like this is a huge undertaking, so does anyone have any other tips or suggestions on getting something like this to look really good before I dive in? Open to literally anything, even getting new shelving.
Me and my 7 year old built this on the first day of the holidays from our spare parts because we didn’t have a football stadium 😂
Few days later and it’s now properly built into the city with roads, gardens, shops, advertising boards, floodlights and minifigures causing absolute chaos 😂
We’ve honestly had loads more fun with this than some actual sets. Every day s gonna be different World Cup game different fans and a different story going on.
We’ve had hours of fun. Thankyou LEGO for the memories!
But, shouldn't the cafe be on ground floor and apartments on first?
Work has continued on the Custom Terminal 1 airport, images here from 9th June.
The Terminal 1 departures building has had it's floor tiled, along with other added details to the interior including sticker & inkjet printed signage. An airline ticket/helpdesk has been build opposite the baggage drop-off zone; A departure board sign has been installed; A micro duty-free shop has been added on the ground floor past the baggage security check area. One end of the depature building has had it's exterior re-designed, with entry to a public toilets.
So i bought the Death star UCS set for an early birthday gift to myself (it s a month early lol) but wow what a beast, i love this ... i think this is the best one I have built and by far my favourite one.... with my Autism i usually build everything in one go but this thing took 3 days and the light kit from light my bricks really makes it pop.... I am super happy with this and added some of my other mini figs from other sets too
Merged two of my passions, insects and LEGO, and he’s where my collection is currently at!
A load of these are official minifigs and a couple are purist MOC minifigs I’ve made.
Sets here are from Ant-Man, the (amazing) insect ideas set, Bumblebee from Transformers, a VW Beetle and Pharaohs Quest: Scarab Attack.
Then some of the printed tiles/parts on the last slide are random insect related ones.
Minifigures (starting from top left):
Super Mario Para-Beetle, Super Mario Ant Trooper, Alien Buggoid (Olive Green), Mantizoid, Winged Mosquitoid, Alien Buggoid (Dark Red), Alien Beetlezoid, Axl with Wasp Missile shield.
Bumblebee Girl, Beekeeper, Bugs Bunny, Ladybug Girl, The Beatles - Ringo, Paul, John + George.
Firefly, Mighty Micro Killer Moth, Killer Moth, Bumblebee, Twitch, Beetle, Jiminy Cricket, Fly Monster.
Poggle the Lesser, Geonosian, Blue Beetle, Ant-Man, The Wasp, Mantis, Zuckuss, 4-LOM.
Jail Prisoner with Five Bee Stings, Gypsy Moth, Professor Webb/Locust, Goliath, Yellow Jacket, Hank Pym, Giant-Man, Parademon, Mummy Queen with Scarab of Ammit, Anubis Guard with Scarab Shield, Beekeeper (Minecraft), Mothman, Butterfly Girl, Beetlejuice, Ralph with ‘Let’s Bee Friends’ card, Drix.
Thanks to people who have suggested other minifigures already and if anyone knows of any other insect related minifigs I’m missing then let me know!
EDIT: I got my left and right mixed up, so minifigure names starting from top left, not right!
These are all the builds so far. I have about just as many to build yet with more on the way. I just started building at the beginning of the year. Its kinda become an obsession
Hi everyone!
I’m planning my dream LEGO Star Wars display and I’d love some feedback before I start building all the dioramas.
The display will be about 3.05 m (10 ft) wide using IKEA KALLAX units. I’ve attached a rough layout showing where each scene will go.
My goal isn’t to collect every UCS set, but to create a museum-style cinematic display, where each shelf represents an iconic Star Wars scene.
I’m thinking about adding an AT-AT and an Imperial Star Destroyer, but I’m skipping the Death Star because of the price. Instead I’d build custom MOCs for Death Star corridors or hangars.
Questions:
Does the overall layout make sense?
Which scene feels weakest?
Would you add Hoth, Endor, or another iconic location?
Would you prioritize an AT-AT or an Imperial Star Destroyer
I’d really appreciate any suggestions or criticism. Thanks!
Present status of car(s) display - Just ordered Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear (with FREE steering wheel) and the Aston Martin F1.
Pardon the reflections in the picture but there is no great way to take a picture where they are presently being displayed. And yes, I like to have my builds displayed in a case.
I'm currently creating an "Evolution Of Flight" themed collection. I have 3 other sets to add before I can consider it to be finished.
I made a wall with wooden boards. The Gap allows me to hook shelfs into the wall.
They can be rearanged without tools.
The shelf brackets are 3d printet and only attached to the shelfs not to the wall.
Some under desk mounts for ikea samla boxes provide room for bigger lego pieces.
Anyone in India able to create this at a reasonable rate? Amazon rates are way too high
Hey guys, I’m fairly new to Reddit but I recently got my dream set the UCS Venator and now I’m looking for help on best way to display it. I currently have the set up in the picture. I just moved Cities so most of my collection is still packaged up but I pulled a good bit of my clones out and put them on that display (I know they’re not all 100% correct but some are how I played with them as a kid and I’d prefer to leave as is like the obi and mace) I’m looking for genuine suggestions on how to improve my set up such as raising the Venator so that the display case doesn’t block part of the set. I’m also interested in seeing how you guys display them as well as any good cabinets or display cases you recommend. Probably gonna cross post this to get some variety in suggestions but appreciate any help from here. Thanks in advance!
