Lego Collections - Garden Room
Morning all,
I am looking at getting a garden room to use as a man cave/area to display my Lego sets. Just looking for some inspiration, if anyone has their collection kept in a garden room/log cabin would you be willing to post your layouts? Cheers!
Made A Minifigure Display
Not quite done, as I need to put the trim around it. But I’m pretty happy with the results. Let me know if you have any questions. Sorry about the angle. The hallway is not wide enough to get a full frontal pic.
Finally have all of the series 29 minifigures in the display case!
The tuba player was the hardest to find for me! Now on to filling the next part of the shelf when the Shrek series comes out!
Meet Brick Deckard!
A few folk have asked about my profile picture, so meet Brick Deckard!
I don’t personally collect LEGO or Pop Vinyl figures, but I couldn’t resist this little guy when I saw him.
Complete with Deckard’s shirt, tie, trench coat, ID and, of course, his blaster. He’s got his own little display case with a street scene behind him and he sits within the rest of the Blade Runner collection.
Not quite screen-used memorabilia or anything special, but definitely one of the more fun pieces in the collection!
My Speed Champions collection
Hi, I wanted to share my collection of Speed Champions, got all the 8 wides minus the new August ones and some that I have still left to build. Got a really nice custom display case made for them! Let me know what youre toughs are (:
Lego City-city?
Is anyone building a LEGO City using only LEGO City sets?
I’ve been getting really interested in building a LEGO City (thanks to Block Party, Kevin!), but I’ve noticed that a lot of the big city layouts on YouTube use Modulars, MOCs and sets from loads of different themes.
I’m wondering if anyone is actually building a city using only the LEGO City theme (or as close to it as possible)?
I’m thinking of using the City buildings, vehicles, road plates, trains, etc., then filling in the gaps with baseplates, trees, parks, flowers and other landscaping to make it feel like a proper city.
I’d love to see some examples if anyone is doing this. It would also be interesting to hear how you approach the layout and make the City sets work together.
Basically, I’m curious whether a “LEGO City-only city” is actually doable and can still look really good. 😄
Anyone doing something similar?
My living room displays
Finally got the last couple sets done and filled all the shelves so figured I would show my setup here. Have some other stuff scattered around the house as well but those aren't quite complete so ill post them later.
There's a couple MoC and non lego brand sets in there, if you've got questions just let me know.
I’ve built what I couldn’t find
So I’ve spent that last few years creating a minifigure display system that lets you start any size.
The wall displays out there are fixed. So you choose which Minifigs to show, like what fits, which I didn’t like. I wanted to decide how many to display.
I’ve made it so it can grow with your collection.
I’ve been collecting minifigs for almost 40 years (on and off) – starting with maxifigs and the LEGOLAND ones with fixed arms.
This fits the LEGO system (studs, bricks, elements, etc – so I can build dioramas, not just line up minifigs).
The same frame holds between 16 and 88 minifigures depending on how you configure the internal slats.
Here's what that looks like (prototype) & love to know what people think.
Happy to answer any questions
Lego Rivendell display picture/art?
Hi everyone!
I’m looking for a high-resolution, Lord of the Rings–themed backdrop for my LEGO Rivendell display.
The set is displayed inside an IKEA RUDSTA cabinet - I removed the middle glass shelf so the model would fit, and I’d like to print a backdrop to cover the black panel behind it.
The required dimensions are:
76 cm wide × 68 cm high (approx. 29.9 × 26.8 inches)
Ideally, I’m looking for atmospheric Rivendell or Middle-earth artwork that would complement the LEGO set without distracting too much from it. The image needs to be high-resolution and suitable for printing at the full size?
Does anyone have suitable LotR artwork, know where I could find or purchase one, or perhaps create a custom backdrop in these dimensions?
I’ve attached photos of the display for reference.
Thanks in advance!
Displaying LEGO Modular Buildings in 2 Billy Bookcases
Hi everyone,
I’ve been collecting LEGO for several years, and at this point I have all the modular buildings LEGO has released so far, with the exception of Shopping Street…
I’m looking for your comments, tips, and suggestions on the best way to display my modular buildings.
I have two IKEA BILLY bookcases, each measuring 80 × 202 cm, and I also have some extra shelves available if needed. I used the washer trick to gain a little extra length, so I can fit exactly three 32×32-stud baseplates on each shelf.
What I’m trying to do is optimize the space in the two BILLY bookcases as much as possible, so I can display all my modular buildings while still leaving some space for the other LEGO sets I have to display.
What I’d like to ask, especially if anyone has done something similar, is what would be the best way to group the modular buildings on each shelf — particularly considering their different heights — in order to make the best possible use of the two bookcases and maximize the amount of space left for displaying my other sets.
I’d really appreciate any comments, ideas, or suggestions!
Thanks in advance for your help!
Happy building!
Found a cabinet for the Lord of the Rings sets
I finally found a cabinet that fits the modern LOTR sets. The deeper Billy bookcase unfortunately isn't available in the USA and I wanted something with glass doors to reduce dust, therefore I present...the Amerlife 60"x16" display case. It couldn't have been a more precise fit, there's ~1mm of clearance for the width of Rivendell, the height of Barad-dur, and the depth of Minas Tirith.
A few details:
- I found similar-looking cabinets from other brands, but their listed dimensions were smaller. This was the only one I found with listed dimensions to fit the 3 large LOTR sets.
- Lighting kit is included and easy to install (the rest was a bit of a chore).
- I bought it from Target's website because it was on sale but it's available at other online retailers.
- You have to angle Rivendell just right to fit, and it won't fit on the very bottom or center shelf because you lose a little width from the side window frames. I also had to remove 1 piece and rearrange one of the trees (see photo captions). There's a 75"x16" option that solves this problem, but it didn't work for my space sadly. It might be a safer option for Helm's Deep next year though...
- The cabinet came with another row of shelves for the bottom half, but I didn't add them so Barad-dur and Minas Tirith would fit. The shelves are adjustable (except the center shelf) but they only have 3 pre-drilled holes that are all pretty close to each other, so not really very helpful. I'm planning to drill my own holes to add them later (see photo captions for ideas).

My new Lego setup
After recently moving I'm now able to display my sets properly. This is still a work in progress and I've made a list of all the sets I want to buy to fill in the blanks. The Death Star won't permanently live there as a TV will go in its place and it will move to my desk instead. I'm happy for suggestions or questions!
My “A Cloud Full of Hope” made it to the Fan Vote! ☁️🌈
Hi everyone! ☁️🌈
I’m really happy to share that my creation, A Cloud Full of Hope, has made it to the Fan Vote!
It’s a small build with a simple idea behind it: even after the rain, there’s always a little hope and colour waiting to appear. 🌈
If you like my design, I’d really appreciate your vote and support! It would mean a lot to me. ❤️
Does anyone ban kids from their Lego displays?
I don’t tend to pay then display my Lego behind protective casing. Instead, we play and display as there is nothing better in this world than having fun. It’s priceless.
WindyCityBrix - Coming SOON!
I have been working SO HARD to get my LEGO Room in shape and in order for my new content page. I’m so excited, and can’t wait to share the collection with anyone who joins along for the journey!
