Does a character fix with a LEGO figure type?

I remember decades ago I post this question in Eurobricks. It's probably throwback time on reddit. Hopefully it's the right place to post.

As we know, mainstream LEGO lineup this day has three main figure types-- Duplo, Minifigure and Minidoll, each type mostly focus on exclusive themes and figures, which means in most times a theme or a character mostly doesn't repetitively appear in more than one category.

TLM2 is a weird showcase for this topic. The story focused on Emmet's journey to Systar Dimension where most residents are minidolls, but in the same film, it also shows that a character could be presented in various alteregos of figure types. So this leads to the question: altho the movie wanted to talk about Finn and Bianca's preference of figure types, in the view of story it actually makes wonder what if Emmet's minidoll and Sweet's minifigre alterego also exist in this world, just Finn and Bianca weren't able to get them to solve the case?

Regarding to physical products, I think what bothers AFOLs the most is that they'd usually not get the figure type they want for this theme. Disney Princess is the most classic case, because it has obvious demand for both minidoll and minifigure, but their playsets are mostly released with just minidolls, which makes many of their minifigure variants exclusive to blindbags, not to mention the secondary characters like Kristoff and Cassandra will probably never see the light as minifigures as they're exclusive to playsets. It should be more convenient if some themes could push multiple types of figures from the start.

Sure, financially, TLG can't really make every single character in various types of figures, and not every type has big demand too. But I do think the current lineup could go away from the restriction alittle. For major themes like City, Ninjago and Friends, I think it'd be nice to release just main characters in alternative figures as exclusive sets to fulfill the extra need, or to convince a Friends fan to try the typical minifigure themes with minidoll replacements. For licensed themes, some of them like Harry Potter might also have the potential to appeal consumers with minidoll line.

Do you believe most characters can be released in multiple figure types? Or it's better to keep the types fixed and encourage TFOLs to play minifigures with minidolls?

Lego Mecha Sonic Minifigure

After making metal sonic i had to try making a Mecha Sonic especially after reading Scrapnik island.

What do you think is needed to make him better?

Any ideas on this MF head?

Brickognize doesn’t find any results and couldn’t find anything on Google lens.

There is no back of the head printing, hollow stud on top of head with Lego logo, inside has Lego logo + part number 3626 and (factory code?) 26-47

Came in a used lot that had lots of Star Wars, Ninjago, Jurassic park; Harry Potter, city and more.

I thought it might be from an ACU soldier from Jurassic world but couldn’t find anything.

Maybe it’s pad printed?

Nice little Army Builder from my local B&Ms

$45, same price gets you only 4 Clones on the 327th so this can not be half bad

It’s not in my hands, need more opinions before I pull the trigger

My Lego Star Wars Minifigures

So, I grew up with Lego, loved Lego Star Wars, but eventually grew out of it. My friend recently showed me his collection a few months back and that took me down the nostalgia avenue lol. I looked out my house to see what I could salvage, but it was pretty slim since I practically chewed on all my legos when I was younger, you know, being an actual kid and playing with the toy I was given, but still always appreciated them and loved them. I had all kinds from city, ninjago, chima, and star wars, and I had some pretty rare figures back in the day. This is my collection now. I personally really love it a lot, even if you don’t, I do. Decided to go for a Rainbow Vader theme in the back. I do have another section below with some of my ninjas, ninjago is where it’s also at haha, but it’s basically my misc box, anything goes in there. This top half is solely just for my Star Wars figures. I do hope you like it because I sure do!!

“how much would this be worth” I’m just playing with that quote, I see that all the time on this platform and it gets quite annoying… Bricklink exists at the end of the day :)

Anywho, this is my star wars minifigure collection!! Thanks for taking the time to read my post and look at my minifigures!

Ventress sw0195

Question guys…does this look like the keychain ventress that was made, and not actually the fig that came with the 7676 set? Never seen a fig with the open top like this but I know she is an older fig, so just want some confirmation. Thanks in advance!

Tahu - Mech Suit of Fire

Growing up I had just a few Bionicle, but I never had Tahu. I was more a Onua, the Toa of Earth, fan. But I greatly enjoyed breaking them down and building monsters and creatures. I actually had more Bohrok and Rahkshi than Matoran.

After getting the sought after Tahu fig from the current CMF series, I pondered for a while on how I’d use him for a post.

Inspiration hit when watching my daughter play with the Superman mech set. This set (and the other super hero has a giant mech suit type sets) was in many ways the evolution of Bionicle.

I figure that if @lego was ever TO BRING BACK BIONICLE it would probably be like this.

Enjoy.

My Entire Minifigures Collection

I was too lazy to get all of them out of my lego brick storage and there is a few more minifigs not in the photo. Majority of these minifigs I had since I was a child outside of a bunch I got like most of OG batman minifigs.

If I have time and patience, I will post a photo of every minifigs. There are a few custom minifigs.
