Google zegt 'aqua bag' (een soort boksbal), maar dit lijkt me onwaarschijnlijk. Foto is in 2022 in de buurt van het USC gemaakt, en ik ben er sindsdien niet meer langsgelopen, dus ik weet niet of het er nog hangt.

Picking flowers / bouquets

Sorry if this is a silly question but at the market I always see flower stands and people walking around with arranged bouquets.

The flower stands usually just have buckets of 1 kind of flower in each, so how do you make a bouquet? Can you just ask the seller to arrange one for you on the spot?

I have no clue how to make a nice looking bouquet. I’d appreciate any help

Life Drawing Session @ Art Hub Leiden – May 21st, all levels welcome!

Hey there!

We're putting together a figure drawing evening at Art Hub Leiden and thought some of you might be into it.

Two models will be posing while people sketch, draw or paint — whatever you feel like. Absolutely no experience needed, we really mean that. It's a small group (max ~20 people) so it's pretty low-key and not intimidating at all.

After the drawing part we're doing drinks and some music too, so it's a chill way to spend a Wednesday evening either way.

It's €13 which covers the venue, materials and drinks. We'll provide everything you need material-wise, but bring your own stuff if you have preferences.

Is there really a free-sector housing shortage in Leiden?

I was living in Leiden (on Langegracht) for 2 years from 2024 - 2025. I am international non-EU so when I first came to the Netherlands to pursue my MSc in Data Science I had a hard time looking for housing...the cant come too early to look because of visa, cant come too late and have no time to look dilemma.

I ended up building something with my software background to pretty much keep scanning the entire market for free sector housing and update me the moment something suitable goes online, and eventually found myself something.

Ive kept the tool running and get some interesting data on the housing availability throughout the Leiden area (Leiden, Leiderdorp, Oegstgeest). Some neighbourhoods tend to have more free sector availability than others.

At the moment, here are stats (listed within 8 weeks ago) throughout the area

Rooms & Studios: 80

Apartments & Houses: 172

Buurt with most availability: Pancras-West

252 active available free sector listings for a total population of 270,000 in the area might sound bad but there are areas in Netherlands where its far worse. I hope this might be useful to someone looking for housing, or just someone who gets a kick out off data (like me)

housing help

EDIT: Im going to The Hague Campus

Hello, how is it going? I will be starting a bachelor September (17F) and I have been looking for a room/studio through different websites and facebook groups with no luck so far.

When I thought I found something, I got "scammed" (got a studio with holland2stay and after managing the booking, they cancelled on me 2 weeks later. They haven't told me the reason nor refund me my money for the booking)

Can anyone recommend me a website, an agency, a real estate agent, facebook group or anything on which I can look for a place to stay? I am quite worried about falling for scams or not finding housing this summer...

Oké, eerste poging. Verzoekje aan de Mods om deze te pinnen. We beginnen met periodes van twee weken, mogelijk passen we dat in de toekomst aan.
