‘21 No Audio

Recently the sound in my car started to cut out and now I have lost all audio. Volume controls don’t respond. No sources work and the car doesn’t beep when using the menu.

Went to the diag menu and my amp is completely missing; not sure if that is a bad thing? No errors in any other module, all ok.

Checked all my fuses, all ok. (Double triple checked my radio and amp fuses)

Reset the radio through the power button several times.

Disconnected the battery overnight.

Batt voltage is 12.4.

Pulled my centre console and radio & checked harnesses, all ok.

Followed the remote wire from the back of the radio to a connector under the centre console. Looks okay, cleaned the terminals and reinstalled.

Pulled the amp from the trunk. No water damage. Tested the two power wires, showing batt voltage. Same with the remote wire. Ground is good. Checked the speakers through the amp harness. Resistances check out.

I’m thinking it could be the amp but it’s seems unlikely to me as the car is so new.

Looking for next steps for troubleshooting.

Question for owners who went from 350 models to RC F

Was this worth the upgrade? I currently own a 2015 RC350 F sport. I spent about 25k on the car and maybe 5k in mods. 30k total. I been looking into the RC Fs, preferably a 2020+ model around 50-55k, is it worth the 20k jump? I feel like I’m paying for an engine and cooler seats coming from a 350. I been heavily deciding between a RC F and Supra.

Was the upgrade worth it? Please let me know, I really love this platform but worried I would get the same fate as I feel for the 350. I have owned it for about 3 years now, tuned, modded, and see myself getting bored sometimes. Until I sit in the car and that feeling is gone, or when a little kid tells me he loves my car. Beautiful things and memories from this car alone.

It is truly a privilege to get bored of this car.

Cleaning the AC Evaporator and Draining

Was trying to use the foam cleaner to clean out the moldy smell from my car after running the AC. Put the car on a ramp, got under the car, found the exit tube under the passenger side (right next the tire). Following the directions on the Toyota AC Evaporator Foam Cleaner and I noticed the foam leaking from other crevices under the car near the passenger side. Got worried and thought I was doing it wrong. Looked it up and it says that either the hose might be kinked or clogged. So went to the passenger seat and felt the carpet, it was dry and I couldn't see any water. So then I found the black hose under the glove box that leads to the drain and figured it could just fill the foam in there. Problem is that hose is really attached to the barbed fitting and really difficult to remove in that awkward angle (cant even start to imagine trying to put it back on while sitting in that angle). Here's a link to a video I made that might help visualize (I'm an expert at videos as u can clearly tell...):

https://youtube.com/shorts/Gi2fAhQF3L4?is=6ds47eonntzgnQ9Y

Any help or suggestions? I wanted to try and do this on my own. I've literally never done anything to my car and wanted to start by learning how to do this. Plus, there aren't lots of videos out there for the Lexus RC. Worst case, I can always take it to a mechanic and get it done quickly but where's the fun in that?

2017 350 or wait for a couple of years and get a 2019

Saw a good deal on a 2017 350. Would it be more prudent to wait for a couple of years and get a 2019 when the prices are lower? Face-lift, car play and a new engine on the 2019 seems like a better play. Not really in a hurry to buy.

First Lexus

I purchased a 2021 RC 300 with 73k Miles to the tune of $30K. His name is Carmelo. Hes a bit heavy & sluggish but I’ve realized that hes not meant to be driven like a Scat Pack. I’ve been wanting and RC for 6 years+ and I finally pulled the trigger. What really sold me was the color combo and body. I was also in need of a car asap as my black 08 Corolla CE had no AC, would leak water in the cabin when it would rain & just wasn’t cutting it anymore. I wish it would have been a 350 or an F sport but it’s def better than my old car. Also a shame that the RCF and F Sport models don’t come in the Caramel interior. I want something sexy and fast ! This will do for now as he’s still fun to drive and I gush every time I see him parked waiting for me to take him for a spin. Cabin is quiet, sound system is phenomenal and I don’t even have the Mark Levinson system. Drive is smooth & peppy. Just hate the touchpad and blinkers. Also don’t like the lack of features even if it’s a base model. Nevertheless he’s quite the neck breaker just need to put some new rims and a spoiler. My plan is to pay off my negative equity, trade it in and get a 350 or RCF. Question, does anyone else experience a sluggish acceleration? Especially when I’m at a stop and have to accelerate quickly I feel like it takes a while to jerk forward unless it’s in sport mode.

What year of RCF is the best?

Hey guys, I am planning on purchasing an RCF pretty soon, and I've seen mixed reviews about what year is good or bad, but I would like to hear what reddit has to say. Please give me your honest opinions whether you've owned one or have had people who've had one.

Made it into the 100k club this year!

Started the year off around 90k and now sitting at 113k. I think it’s time for a tune up! Such a fantastic car, love my RC. Where is everyone else’s mileage at currently?

2020 RC350 F Sport for 42k?

The dealer is asking for $43k, and I negotiated down to $42k. Is that a fair deal? It only has 16,800 on the dashboard. It's hard to find rc350 with that milage and options around my area.

Wireless Apple Car Play

Just purchased my 2nd RC. This one finally has car play (2023) but it’s not wireless. Anyone have a REPUTABLE & good working product that can make it wireless? Seen a bunch on Amazon that show shitty reviews like making the screen go black or a ton of lag.

Thanks!

Please Help With Lights

A deoderizer was used in my vehicle and left the dome lights fogged up. How do I clean it?

Also, can the rear interior light be changed? I'd like to put in a brighter LED. Or at least a different color

Anyone know what the transmission temp. Is for a drain and fill?

Anyone know what the temperature range is for doing a transmission drain and fill on RC350 AWD?

I'm up for service and looks very easy to do but I can't find what the temperature the fluid needs to be at to start the overflow drain.

Reasonable price(before TTL)? for a 2021 RC 350 F Sport RWD -68k miles - L/certified

Hey guys, looking for feedback on price for a 2021 RC 350 F Sport RWD should be? Car has 68k miles, interior looks really good and it drove well- but the dealership needs 10 days to actually make it CPO ready. The front lip is cracked and the brackets holding the bumper on are completely snapped (it’s held together by zip ties lol) and the wheel well is stripped on that side.

Previous owner was an older lady and they told me it was not in an accident and that she basically went over a parking block and it lifted the bumper off and snapped the brackets. Carfax does not have any accidents either. Interior was in good shape.

They are basically going to do a bunch of work to get it CPO ready, hence the 10 day turn around time. Knowing all of this- where would you be on price before TTL(since taxes vary everywhere)?

How much value do you think L/certified adds? If anyone has any data points for what they paid in the last year, let me know!

Much appreciated! Stock photo for attention

How hard is the set up of installing Carplay for older RC models?

Going to bite the bullet and buy a Lexion Car Play.

How hard is the set up for disassembly for the OEM and the installation of the new carplay? The tutorials online make it look pretty easy but just wondering if any non DIY people did it and how they found it difficulty wise

thank you!

Wrapping RC 350 LV Shop Recommendations

Was hoping to wrap my 2021 RC 350 in some sort of dark forest green. Anybody have thoughts on getting the car wrapped? Maybe with price estimates or recommended wrap companies/products. I'm in the Las Vegas area and was hoping someone who was from here could reccomend a shop.

Okay fine, you can park next to me

Always drives me crazy when I park out in the back of the lot with plenty of extra spaces around but someone decides to park in the spot right next to me anyway. But in this case I was happy to come back to this.

Maybe I should get a couple of custom orange cones that say “RC PARKING ONLY” on them to set on either side of me 😂

Rarity of RC F Feature

Hey everyone!

First off, how rare is a slick top RC F? By this, I mean no sunroof and no carbon fiber. Just a straight up metal slick top? Has anyone seen this?

Potentially compounding the rarity, my RC F is indeed a slick top, however, it's also equipped with the TVD. For reference, mine is a 2015 model in Liquid Platinum. It also has the premium 19" hand polished wheels.

I don't recall seeing a RC F specified like mine for sale on the used market.
