I wasn’t able to find it anywhere, but my local Lexus emailed it to me, so I wanted to share.
Not handy at all and was scared to drill into a new car, but it's so simple and easy. Under 30 minutes.
I see this error intermittently when I disconnect from my Tesla home charger. It clears when I park after a drive and shut and start the engine.
Took it to the dealer and they still don't have a fix for this and it's been over a week.
Has anyone seen this?
Hey everyone!
I’ve been wondering why Lexus kind of dropped the ball with showing charging stations when using their built in map. I poked around and really didn’t find any option to have charge stations show up with planning a trip. I tried “A Better Route Planner” but noticed that it wasn’t really tracking mileage correctly even when setting the SoC lower than my actual SoC.
Anyways, after a lot of searching, I found out that you can have Apple Maps showing you charging stations!

I might be reposting this but I haven’t seen it on the subreddit.
For those unaware of this feature, do the setup while in the vehicle
TLDR: use the PlugShare app to find compatible charging stations. Add the plug types that the RZ has adapters for including NACS.
… There might be a better sub for this kind of discussion/story, but perhaps other RZ owners can benefit from this. We went for a small road trip yesterday to … nowhere specific just 40 miles from town. Then we looked for chargers. I had multiple maps open: Lexus, ABRP, PlugShare, Tesla, Apple maps, and at one point Charge Point.
Apple Maps showed lots of chargers but they weren’t necessarily compatible. Maybe there’s a setting.
Lexus also showed chargers including Tesla chargers that the Tesla app indicated were NOT compatible. So to me this made the app not trustworthy.
Tesla ... Set up the RZ450 , clicked on yes I have a NACS. The map showed chargers we could use, eliminating Tesla Superchargers ( that showed on the Lexus and Apple Maps). Confused yet?
Plugshare ... I setup the RZ450 but I think the app defaults to ccs1. i had to add NACS.
ABRP does not have the RZ450 so I used RZ350. It didn't show the same stations as plugshare.
But I did find two charging styles in the same parking lot about 20 miles away Perfect for testing. First the Tesla charger. The first clue should’ve been that it wasn’t a NACS plug, it was a J1772. still I paid to charge. Plugged it in, the light was green so we walked away to get an Eegees … checked the app and it was charging at 6 kW per hour! I paid a dollar for about 2 kWh and 30 min. Obviously not a Tesla style fast charger.
So we tried the chargers next to these… Autel, which PlugShare app called epic charging. First I tried to pay then plug-in. That caused an error and stopped the charging. So we kept it plugged in and paid again. and Voila it was a fast charger. Five minutes later, we are up to 80% and on our way back.
I’m shopping for a used RZ but all of the options I’ve seen have no front plate bracket installed. Lexus dealer can drill but I hate the thought of drilling into the front end.
I’m in the state of IL so front plate is a law.
Any RZ owners here have use a tow hook license plate bracket like in these photos? If so I’m wondering if you’ve ever had any sensor issues, as in the parking sensors going off because of the bracket?
I’ve heard of some non-Lexus cars having this issue so want to do some research as I’ll be buying in the next couple weeks.
Thank you in advance 🙏🏼
We went with the 450e premium because ... Why not. Iridium exterior and Palomino and Macadamia NuLuxe and Charcoal trim (tan and white). It was down to 191 miles last night (hot day, AC on high) and had 226 mile expected range this morning. I didn't plug it in... Anyway, small road trip tomorrow to test it out!
Im considering getting the RZ but im stuck between 350e premium and 450e premium, I know that the only difference is range and AWD but im really indecisive on what’s more important to me. Any recommendations?
Just curious what everyone is averaging in real world Miles per kWh.
‘26 350e premium, only 600 miles, but lifetime average of 4.4. This is my first EV, and that seems pretty good to me!
What are your averages? Or what are some of the best (or worst) trip averages you have seen.
This is probably controversial, but I love the fake engine and braking noise. It give me vibes that cross between a space ship and a void creature.
What I really like is that it’s not there most of the time. Only during hard acceleration or breaking. So I don’t get tired of it, and when it does come on, I’m pleasantly surprised.
There’s also something pleasant but luxurious about the external car lock and unlock sound. Not a harsh beep like other cars, just smooth and inviting.
What I hated was the internal reverse sound. When I first got the car I was astounded how annoying loud it was. Fortunately you can ask Lexus to disable it, which improved the driving experience immensely.
The external reverse sound is so quiet I’m surprised it’s legal, but I guess there are some EVs (Teslas I think) that don’t turn there’s on at all.
I was seeking a base 350 RZ without the glass roof, preferring the cooler interior and longer range relative to the 350 Premium or 450s with glass tops and larger wheels. No dealers in Maryland had the base version, so i ordered directly from a dealer in Ohio. Very pleased with the supper quiet car. Ordered Caviar with the light Palomino interior.
I've signed out, signed in, uninstalled, and reinstalled the iOS app. I've rebooted the head unit (press and hold the volume knob for 10-15 seconds), and my iOS app (and logging into lexus.com) both show -1 for battery percentage and range.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? The remote control functions still work (start, unlock, etc. and notifications).
2025 RZ 300e with 6,000 miles on it.
Update: drove from Tampa to Miami and back this week with several charges along the way and still no luck.
Does anyone know if there is a way to keep the in car dash charging status on during fast dc charging? Or a button to press that brings the status up? The only way I'm able to see it is by opening the door.
I know you can check the app, but sometimes the apps lag. It would be nice to just keep an eye on it while sitting in the car without opening the door.
Lexus just announce that the new 2026 ES will be getting the Arene software which features route mapping for EV’s. This looks like a major upgrade to the current system used in the RZ. Does anyone know if there are plans for the update current RZs with the new software?

I’ll be leaving the RZ community soon. I’m the only moderator. Anyone interested?
I'm absolutely in love with it so far! Best purchase of 2026!
