What's your favourite RZ feature? Mine is regenerative braking.

For me, it's not the screens or the technology.

It's the regenerative braking.

I was skeptical at first, but now I use it for almost all my deceleration.

It makes driving feel effortless, and I like knowing the car is recovering energy while reducing wear on the brake system.

I'd be interested to know:
Do most RZ owners drive this way?
Has anyone noticed significantly less brake wear compared to their previous vehicles?

What other "underappreciated" RZ features do you enjoy?

Let's balance out some of the negative posts with things we actually like about the vehicle.

RZ 350 e 2026 clicking sound from steering when hot outside

Anyone else experience this? Haven’t been able to take the car to get it checked at a Lexus dealership but hoping it’s a simple fix where a wire was left unplugged or loosely plugged during the 5,000 mile service. Can hear the sound in the steering wheel area when it’s hot outside or when car is left out in the heat for a long time

How is LSS 3.0+ (without traffic jam assist) compared to other systems? Can you leave it on in stop and go traffic and relax?

The most stressful portion of my commute is stop and go traffic. How well does the base LSS 3.0+ without Traffic Jam Assist handle itself in those conditions? Can I just let it do its thing the entire time? Or will adaptive cruise control/lane centering not work under certain speeds?

Additionally, how is the regular lane centering with this car? I used to drive a Tesla and the regular autopilot/autosteer function was fantastic and really reduced the stress of driving. If you've driven a Tesla with AP before, how does LSS 3.0+ compare?

Lexus RZ 12V/DCM software fix — my car received an engineering OTA update

You can see my previous post at the link
https://www.reddit.com/r/LexusRZ/s/SfYaWYa8nU

I wanted to share this update separately because I’ve heard only a few people mention the software update. After my 12V battery died, I pushed the dealer to perform a parasitic-draw test after the car sat overnight. The service manager told me Lexus engineers hadn’t actually seen the problem occurring live before and “geeked out” over finally observing it—he joked that my car is now famous. Ugh. Nice after being without it for over three weeks.

Lexus Engineering subsequently pushed an OTA software update related to the DCM/12V parasitic draw 8/13. He said it isn’t publicly available yet and may be a targeted pre-release update to specific VINs. They also replaced my 12V battery, and the dealer documented the draw dropping from ~80 mA before the update to ~30 mA afterward, which they said is normal. I was at Lexus Santa Monica in California and the service manager was very helpful.

I’ve restored my profile, app and Connected Services and am using everything normally again. Now we’ll see if it actually works—I’ll report back.

The more people that push this with Lexus dealers, the faster it goes public!

Has anyone received the new RZ DCM/12V software update yet?

My Lexus service manager told me today that the software update for the DCM/12V battery-drain issue has finally been released and is being pushed OTA.

Given everything that’s happened, I’m cautiously skeptical until I can confirm exactly what was updated and whether it actually fixes the parasitic drain.

Has anyone received it yet? If so, are you using the Lexus app/Connected Services and your normal driver profile again, and have you had any further 12V issues?

Update: I picked up my RZ and confirmed with the service manager that Lexus Engineering pushed an OTA software update to my vehicle specifically related to the DCM/12V parasitic-draw issue. This is not a publicly available update at this point, and there’s no public version number or bulletin that I’m aware of. My assumption is that this may be a targeted engineering/pre-release update pushed to specific VINs while Lexus validates the fix.

The encouraging part: the dealer documented parasitic draw of about 80 mA before the update and 30 mA afterward, which they said is within normal range. I’ve re-enabled my profile and Connected Services and will see whether it holds under normal use.

If connected services are turned off; does an automatic update (OTA) from Lexus still update?

Following up from my post yesterday, I've asked the service manager to ask their lead tech how I can verify that the update ran and what software version this update is. In my excitement, I turned on the connected services, but I've found no evidence that an update ran, so I'm tempted to turn them off again to stop the battery drain.

Software hot pushed to RZs ! (?)

Anyone get a call from their dealer that the software was updated on their RZ? I did - he sounded so excited for me too! Like a good experimental test subject; I’ve turned all connected services back on. Now we wait and see.

I have a secure garage, will the procedure shown in picture work? It’s from Chat GPT. Any thoughts, please?

2026 RZ with NACS and Tesla

Did my first limited road trip over the weekend and found charging at Tesla stations to be hit or miss. I was aware of some of the stations where you may have to park a certain way to have the cable reach the vehicle. Moreover, when searching on the various charging apps, I avoided the Tesla only charging stations. Apparently there’s a V1 and a V2 chargers that do not work for the NACSRZ port.

Is there a way that you all have been able to figure out which which chargers are compatible? The one by my house that I use every once in a while is a V4 apparently.

While on my trip, I was able to charge one out of four times at a Tesla charger and had much better success at CCS stations with my ccs to NACS adapter.

Driving Assist Indicator Light

Hello. The Driving Assist Indicator Light stays on. I have a 2023 RZ 450e. Should I bring it in? Still runs normal.
