My slightly over-engineered office Do Not Disturb light
My back is toward my office door, which means my camera points directly at it. My wife is always worried she’ll walk in while I’m on a call or on camera, so I decided to make a lightsaber office availability sign.
The single pulsating Vader saber means Do Not Disturb. Both sabers lit means I’m available, and the moving light effect is mostly just because I could. 😂
Still have a few minor adjustments to make, but it’s pretty much done.

A BAD choice
So, I'm into lightsabers. All of my people know this about me. They know I am into lightsabers, I am into building lightsabers, I am into dueling with lightsabers, all of it.
My nephew is going to be Kylo Ren for Halloween. Awesome, right.
So, my BIL gets him a costume...and a lightsaber. Bear in mind this kid is 9, only has Ep 1 and Lego SW as reference, is HIGHLY ADHD, Super competitive, and either unmedicated or towards the end of the night can easily slip into terror mode.
Did anyone ask the family lightsaber expert, NOPE!
They got this kid a Pixxel saber with a full-length blade. One of the first thing this kid does (after chasing after the cat, almost taking me out, and almost knocking over a vase) is hold the saber by the blade up in the air, and starts grunting like a Tusken. Then (of course) my kid wants to duel him. It goes slow at first but then my nephews competitive side comes out and Definitely comes at my kid a bit faster and harder than "slow speed".
I've heard them "sparring" upstairs before with "lazer swords" and they go pretty hard (for kids that don't know any better), so I am terrified of the damage this kid is going to do to the house, the saber, and/or my kid, and/or my other nephew or niece.
If asked, I would have directed my BIL to a lighter RGB model with a shorter blade (and dull side blades, those F'ers are POINTY).
Like, imagine the ADD kid from Smokin Aces, dialed back about 30%, and armed with a 36" blade lightsaber.
I'm done, thank you for my rant. Pray for me, and may The Force be with us all...

Functional prototype built with Basesaber
Hey All, I'm building a saber hilt design system and app called Basesaber. I wanted to share the first functional prototype I've assembled with the system. It's built around an off-the-shelf Proffie V2.2 core and a 36".
If you're not familiar with the DIY/non-licensed world of saber electronics these things have gotten crazy good. The sounds effects, brightness of the blade and customization options are so impressive. Even subtle movement with the hilt has realistic humming sound effects that are way more responsive than what I've experienced with the officially licensed props. This will be a fun one - excited to try some finishing/weathering techniques next.

I'm looking at getting one of the Elite sabers from SaberForge, probably one with a crossguard like Knight Conquerer or Bushido MK2. Does anyone have a saber from SaberForge, and if so what do you like or dislike about it and would you recommend them?

Howdy, I have acquired this fully functional chassis, and I have been definitely searching through all of the parts manufacturers unsuccessfully, I was attempting to remake the scarlet reactor that is offered by Neosabers.

Is there a list of every Star Wars character who ever owned or used a lightsaber, and then a separate list for blasters?
I'm doing a little project, and I'm working on this list myself, and a little help would be appreciated. Anyone have a list or know a site with the lists? Also I would appreciate if Canon & Legends were 2 separate lists
