Is contrast therapy (alternating sauna and cold plunge) backed by meaningful research, or is it wellness culture?

Trying to assess the hot and cold cycling protocol on its own merits rather than through the filter of recovery product marketing. What is the mechanistic case for contrast therapy that is genuinely distinct from sauna alone or cold alone, and where does the evidence run out?

What’s a health purchase under $50 that you actually use all the time?

I’ve bought enough “this will totally improve my life” stuff to know that most of it ends up sitting in a drawer.

But a few cheap things actually became part of my routine. A decent water bottle was one for me. Nothing exciting, but having it on my desk means I drink way more water without thinking about it.

So forget expensive wearables, fancy machines, and huge supplement stacks.

What’s one relatively cheap health-related thing you bought that you still use regularly? Could be something for sleep, cooking, exercise, recovery, whatever.
