I know it's hard to accept that the guy already had the feats, statements, and narrative to be currently top 1, and on top of that, the author gave him the capacity for evolution to be EOS Daniel level. I wasn't surprised by this, since way back at the start of Workers 4th Affiliate, Gitae was already being built up as a final villain that everyone has to team up to defeat, you just had to know how to read.

PTJ completely broke Lookism's power scaling with Gapryong Kim.

He introduced various high tier abilities, but the execution of the "Conviction" ability ruins the balance. The concept of Conviction isn't bad on its own, but the way PTJ writes it (especially in this arc) essentially boils down to: "If you're stronger than me, I'll just overcome my limits and become stronger than you."

If the current top tiers are supposedly stronger than him, why wouldn't he just overcome them too? He possesses unmatched innate strength, and his Conviction punches only hit harder as the fight goes on.

That's why post-Shingen fight Gapryong isn't functionally any different from his earlier versions.
All he did against Shingen was fight him and overcome his strength. So why wouldn't he be able to do that against anyone in this era?

In my opinion, this writing mechanic feels like a complete asspull. But a lot of fans aren't ready to have this bitter conversation especially when it involves their favorite character.

However, when Mujin goes for the finishing attack, Gap activates Overcome and gains the upper hand. Mujin then reveals his own ability to surpass his limits through his "Believe in Yourself" mentality. Both prepare for their final attacks, but Bangho Lee and the Fist Gang interrupt the fight because Shingu is their actual target. The fight ends without a confirmed winner, keeping the Gap vs Mujin debate alive. Afterward, Mujin refuses to join the Fist Gang because he has no strong reason to. However, he agrees to help them during the Final Fight against the Yamazakis.

Soz, in the last chapter we saw the setup for the Gap vs Mujin fight, which will be shown to us tomorrow evening. Yeah, this is going to be one of the most important fights in Lookism, whose buildup has been going on since the Cheongliang arc 2.5 years ago, which will decide Mujin Jin's fate and scaling, whether he is actually a bum or Gap level, because until now he was being carried by Seongji Yuk's feats and rumors 😋. For Gap, this may be a normal fight, but Mujin's entire aura, hype & scaling depend on this, and after this fight, the confusion regarding many matchups like Base Kitae vs Mujin or what would happen if Jinrang vs Seongji happened will also become clear.
