was trying out this random brush that I saw last night but was also too lazy to render 🤷🏻♀️ here's kat and claire, her friend from seattle who introduced her to the "riot grrrl stuff"
I wrote a short fanfic about them last month I think, lol. if yall also wanna read. it's Stapled Zines to Nowhere in AO3.
July 31, 1995 : Stacey came to Velvet Cove to listen to the Bloom & Rage concert, in front of the Blue Spruce bar 😎 Mixtape X LostRecords
Mixtape has been getting a lot of attention lately and at first sight it look vaguely similar to Lost Records: teens in the 90s, a tightly bonded group of friends, grief. Lost Records has become my favorite game and it's such an hidden and underrated gem, so I've been thinking to give Mixtape a shot. Has anyone here played it yet?
The cool kids are in da place... Stacy & Kat ! 😎 Mixtape X Lost Records
Notice here on their movie night when there is somewhat of a power cut, the waveform lighting/glow >!from The Abyss shines on everyone EXCEPT KAT!<
The O in Lost seems to represent The Abyss, and Kat’s foot is dangling right in it!
The outer ring I guess you could call it, could represent the magnetic pull and the danger zone.
And >!Swann’s foot is not far off either- it shows two things. One, that she was much more likely to be in the Abyss than Nora and Autumn, and two, it shows that Swann was gradually being pulled in, and inevitably would end up in there too!<
Isn’t that amazing? The way they cleverly put that there, and I didn’t notice until my second playthrough.

i made a Discord server for Lost Records + Life is Strange fans called Bloom & Strange.
it’s for talking about the games, theories, characters, music, fanart, screenshots, ships, and just hanging out with other people who like this kind of story-driven game.
we’re still growing, but people are friendly and we’re trying to make it a nice little fan space for both communities.
if anyone wants to join, feel free 🌸🦋
Kat told Stacey she had written a song... so she asked her to come to Nora's garage to listen to the demo of See You in Hell so she could write an article about the band... Mixtape X LostRecords

Swannsong happy in Canada together ♡
I like how she turned out!!! drawn with alcohol markers < 3
Quality seems to be pretty good - but we'll see about that after a couple of washes.
To preface, I know this is just a game. Don't read too much into the following. Good art of any kind is made to make us feel though, and I'm simply just feeling it. And I know many of you are, too.

The most foretelling thing about Bloom & Rage that has stuck with me since I finished it (and then again, and then again) is that quote from near the end of the game:
"The only way we can protect ourselves is if we forget..."
In the same ways the girls had to forget to protect themselves, those of us who were deeply moved by this game have to almost try to forget it in order to get on with our lives. But I can't get it out of my head. And truthfully, I don't want to forget it. Of all my years in playing games, I've never had a story cause so many emotions at once, and with so much staying power. I want to keep feeling how this game made me feel, as overwhelming as it is at the moment. More than that though, I want to know what happens next! But with no tape 3 or update or murmur of a new game in the works, we may have to be happy with what we were given. To find peace with the fact that we may never know what happens next. Is this an allegory for life maybe? Something akin to "better to have loved and lost than to not have loved at all?" I don't know. I'm just rambling through the feelings.
But I won't forget this one any time soon.
