The Combat Veteran News (CVN) Team and Ukraine Aid Operations are teaming up again — and this time we're zeroing in on something Paul has been covering more and more on the CVN channel: the units doing some of the most innovative and dangerous drone work on the entire front. Over the last year, Ukraine has built entirely new formations around unmanned warfare — Unmanned Systems Battalions, like "Sapsan", "Raid" or "Aeron". These guys are writing the playbook for robotic ground combat as well as mid- and long-range strike in real time, often funding critical gear out of their own pockets while delivering some of the most consequential blows deep behind Russian lines. They are, quite literally, the future of this war — and they're doing it with the support from all over the world.
Our campaign focuses primarily on the Unmanned Systems Battalions that currently dominate the battlefield so much. In particular, we aim to support these units:
- 1st Unmanned Systems Center
- 9th Unmanned Systems Brigade
- 413th Unmanned Systems Regiment
- 421th Unmanned Systems Battalion
- 435th Unmanned Systems Division
- Other drone units
We want to make the biggest possible impact on the battlefield. We aim to achieve this by applying these key equipment piece:
- Ground drones (UGVs) that resupply forward positions and evacuate wounded across fields no truck or pickup can survive
- Heavy-lift transport drones for the "last mile" — moving ammo, supplies, and "Vampire" drone batteries to the line without a single soldier on the road
- Mid-range drone components for the units reaching deep into occupied territory
- Support and energy equipment supporting our drone units
Thank you for your support!

FPV crews of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine ''Azov'' taking part multinational Aurora 2026 exercises in Sweden acting as OPFOR (opposing force) against NATO and partner units
Service members from the “Bureviy” and “Lyubart” brigades operated reconnaissance drones and FPV systems, showcasing real-world experience from high-intensity warfare.
Their effectiveness was so high that organizers had to adjust the exercise scenarios several times.
During the repelling of a mechanized assault, the Ukrainian teams, working alongside Swedish operators from the Sweden UAV Center, “destroyed” 28 out of approximately 32 vehicles in a simulated engagement. In another scenario, they breached the defense of a military airfield in under 20 minutes without losing a single drone, successfully striking all designated targets.
Due to the FPV pilots’ effectiveness, their participation in some stages was even limited so that other units could complete the exercises without being fully “eliminated” by drone strikes.
Representatives of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov” also acted as experts for military personnel from Sweden, France, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands. They shared experience on UAV employment, unit coordination, and operations under heavy electronic warfare conditions.
“Swedish representatives showed respect for our experience and traditions; we also observed a minute of silence together. Despite language and doctrinal barriers, we were able to successfully accomplish the tasks,” said a member of the Ukrainian delegation, callsign “Metis.”
The Swedish Armed Forces UAV Center noted the high practical value of Ukrainian participation in the exercise.
