I used to think these were way too much. Now I finally get it.

I used to think these were way too much. Now I finally get it.

The first time I saw these designs, I honestly thought they were almost impossible to style.

Now I kind of think that’s the whole point.

They’re bold, colorful, and definitely not trying to go with everything. The more I look at them, the more I notice how different each pattern feels.

Somehow, the fact that they don’t blend in is exactly what makes them work.

Blue Birkin with PHW!

I’ve had this one for a little while and what I notice most is how much the blue changes with the light. It looks deeper indoors and much brighter near a window.

The size has also been really practical for me, and I like how the PHW keeps the brighter blue feeling balanced.

Definitely one I can see myself using a lot.

Could use a second opinion on this Birkin from Miss Q.

Just received these photos and wanted to get a few more opinions before I move forward.

I’m not very good at judging proportions from photos, especially on a more structured Birkin. At first glance everything seems fairly balanced to me, but I’m wondering if there’s anything I might have missed.

I’m mainly looking at the overall shape, handles and front alignment. Would appreciate any thoughts.

Hot take: your Hermès SA matters more than people admit!

I used to think being consistent was the most important part. After spending more time in-store, I realized the SA you meet can completely change the whole experience.

Some SAs know the products really well, but every visit feels a little distant. Others are easy to talk to, but never seem to remember what you actually like.

For me, a good SA is someone who remembers my preferences, understands what I’m looking for, and doesn’t keep suggesting things that clearly aren’t my style.

That made a much bigger difference than I expected.

I’d rather take my time finding an SA I genuinely click with than keep forcing a relationship that never feels quite right.

For me, the biggest red flag isn’t waiting — it’s leaving every visit more confused than when I walked in.

How did you know your SA was the right one for you?

Hermès leather care is more different than I thought.

I used to think keeping a bag dry and storing it properly was basically enough, but these charts made me realize how differently each leather needs to be treated.

Crocodile, snake and ostrich need more caution around moisture. Togo is more about avoiding oil and dirt, while Epsom is relatively easygoing but still benefits from proper storage. Box calf looks beautiful, but scratches and surface marks show much more easily.

The details I’d watch most over time are color transfer, corner wear, water marks, edge wear and hardware oxidation.

Nothing complicated — just small habits that can make a big difference to how a bag ages.

Looking through these made me realize how many little things are easy to overlook.

What colors would you recommend for deep teal, deep olive, and blue violet?

I am a “deep winter” (light olive skin with dark brown hair/eyes). So, I look best in jewel tones. I want to build a Birkin collection of leather colors in deep teal (blue green color), deep olive, and a saturated blue violet. The Hermes store near me didn’t have much in the way of these color swatches. Photos of resale bags online in these colors varies widely. So what do you believe are the best Hermes colors for deep teal (blue green color), deep olive, and blue violet? I like the Birkin 35 size so it will also need to be a lightweight leather.

Why do these feel like they belong to my son and daughter.

I put these two next to each other and immediately thought: one for my son, one for my daughter.

No idea why, but the blue just feels like him and the orange feels like her.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who sees it.

For my mom, so I’d love another set of eyes on this.

This is meant to be a surprise for my mom, so I can’t exactly show her the photos and ask what she thinks.

She usually sticks to neutral colors, which is why I went with grey. Now I’m mainly trying to make sure the overall proportions look right, especially from the front.

If this were for your mom, is there anything you’d pay extra attention to? Thanks everyone!

Finally got my Kelly Cut.

Just got this one and I keep picking it up to look at it. I really like the slim shape and the pink with PHW.

It’s tiny, but that’s kind of the point. I think it’ll be perfect for dinner when I only need the basics.

QC help — lizard Kelly Pochette from Miss Q.

Would love a second opinion on this one.

I’ve mainly been checking the front alignment, flap line and side profile. The lizard pattern looks fairly even to me, but I’m not as confident judging this material.

Anything I should look at more closely? Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

What happens to Hermès bags with older stamps?

With the new stamp coming soon, I’ve been wondering what happens to bags with older stamps that are still around.

Do they simply stay available until someone chooses them, or does anything change once the new stamp starts appearing?

I’ve also seen people say they’d rather wait for the newer stamp, which made me curious how much it actually matters.

Personally, if the color and specs were exactly what I wanted, I don’t think an older stamp would stop me.

Would it matter to you?

Would this bother you? I think I was given a pair someone else had already tried on.

Went in with a friend today and picked up these sandals, but once I looked at them more closely, one of them seemed noticeably looser around the upper.

Now I’m wondering if this pair had already been tried on quite a bit before I got it.

I know shoes in boutiques get tried on all the time, so maybe I’m overthinking it, but for something like this I expected the pair to feel more consistent.

Would this bother you, or would you just keep them if everything else looked fine?

What would you do about this cloudy hardware?

I noticed these cloudy, patchy marks on the hardware and I’m not really sure what caused them.

I’m a little hesitant to keep wiping it because I don’t want to make the surface look worse, especially with the ostrich leather right next to it.

Has anyone seen something similar before? Would you try a very gentle clean first, or just leave it alone and have someone experienced take a look?

One detail I used to overlook: contrast stitching.

I used to pay way more attention to the leather and hardware, but seeing these colors side by side made me realize how much the stitching can change the overall look.

On shades like Gold, Etoupe, Blue Jean, Fauve and Sanguine, the lighter stitching almost works like an outline. It makes the straps, edges and overall shape look much more defined.

And because the thread stands out, the spacing and angle of each stitch become easier to notice too. Tonal stitching feels softer and more seamless, while contrast stitching gives the piece a sharper, more structured look.

I think I’m starting to prefer contrast stitching now.

Which do you prefer — tonal or contrast stitching?

QC help — striped Birkin from Miss Q.

Just got these photos and could use another set of eyes on this one.

The striped canvas makes it a little harder for me to judge the overall balance, especially around the front panels and handles. Nothing obvious is bothering me so far, but I’d love to know if I’m overlooking anything.

Would this bother you or am I overthinking it?

This is the fourth time a friend has given me one of her Hermès extras.

They’re not cheap, so I always feel like I should return the favor with something thoughtful too. But she’s mentioned that she already has a lot of things she picked up along the way, so she’d rather give those to me than choose something separately.

I know a gift is still a gift, but part of me can’t stop thinking… is this a present, or am I just helping clear out things she doesn’t really want?

Am I reading too much into this?

My red croc B25 is finally here.

I went back and forth on this one for way too long.

I’ve always loved red croc in photos, but I was worried it might feel a little too dressy once I actually had it in hand. After looking through more photos and going over a few details with Miss Q, I finally decided to stick with it.

Now that it’s here, I’m really glad I did. The color is much easier to wear than I expected, especially with the gold hardware. The scale pattern was also one of the first things I noticed in person — it looks a little different depending on the light.

It took a bit of waiting, but seeing it in person made it worth it.
