aniyas hair

okay, so we’ve all seen aniya looking absolutely stunning on liusa season 8. i’m in LOVE with her hair, but i have a question. (i usually wear braids and crochet, i heard this is a half wig she’s using?)

above, i put photos of her hair throughout her time in the villa. my question is: why does it look like the volume and length decreased? and i don’t mean like it shrunk, it looks shorter and less thick (compare pictures 3 and 4). it obviously still looks great, but i loved the thick, long curls she had going on and am wondering how half wigs really work in this situation?

4 and 5 are more early on (the pool challenge), 1 is from movie night, and 3 is from casa recoupling.

love island psychosis is reaching its peak this year. everybody has to kinda chill (including myself)

y’allllll it’s getting insane 😭

last year i wrote a blogpost called “The Great Love Island Psychosis of 2025” and I genuinely never thought it would get as bad as it did last year, but I think we’re getting there…

s7 was very much a war between women who liked olandria/chelly and women who liked huda.. it was sinister but this year feels worse because men are watching the show now and it is gradually devolving into a full blown gender war (& also a rift within the black community).

i enjoy love island and i have watched it for a decade now but the last two years have filled me with rage and the toxic-ness of the online discourse is drowning the enjoyment of the show. it’s tough to go online and see men defend KC’s actions & in the same vein it’s tough to see KC getting dog-pilled on by the entire globe (including corporate america).

i’m unsure where the balance or line is but i do know that people have killed themselves because of this show and whilst I don’t like KC, I think the amount of vitriol is getting to a point.

do i think his actions on the show have been disrespectful and in some cases harmful to Aniya? yes. do i think Aniya could’ve handled certain situations better? yes. do i think Kc & Corbin display signs of red pill/podcast bro logic? yes. but.. do i think kc is 22 & with therapy, learning and accountability, he can be better? also, yes.

i think the amount of men defending his actions and dogpiling and bullying aniya is making KC seem more demonic than he actually is. if only women were watching this show, i do not think the hate against KC would have reached this point but it’s escalated bc of what ppl are doing and saying in his name.

i think he has the tendency to be pretty mean, avoidant and flippant but i don’t think he’s the worst person on that show (sincere is), let alone in the entire love island history. all of this to say, we are extremely critical of these folks on our screen to the point of pure dehumanization & i want to implore every one of us to do some soul searching in how we approach these convos because it is really getting to the point that we are losing our minds and to some extent our souls.

i’ve seen people call for Aniya to be beat up, for KC to die & for many more terrible things and i just have to ask: at what point do we become worse than the people we are criticizing? enjoy the show, have measured discourse but also please touch grass, go outside & breathe bc it’s still just a tv show at the end of the day.

Is anyone else having a hard time watching the POC scream and curse at each other?

In House Convo

I feel bad for saying this, but watching the black islanders in particular barate each other to no end makes me feel so deeply uncomfortable as a black woman.

I cringed hard at the recoupling curse off between TiTi and the girls, but I actually had to fast forward through the Aniya/KC stand off scream down.

I mean this for both the male and female cast members, as well as the unambiguous black cast (like Trinity, KC, TiTi and Aniya) AND the ambiguous black cast (Melanie,
Kayda, Sincere and Corbin ).

At least if a black cast member is going head to head with a white one, I can feel comfortable rooting for everyone black. But the black on black crime is too much for me…

I feel like my deep embarrassment during these scenes are rooted in anti-blackness some how, so if someone can help me not feel embarrassed by these scenes please help a girl out. I HATE feeling this way.

I love when they stand up for themselves. All the crash outs are certainly valid, but watching them scream, curse, and walk up on each other knowing the viewership and perception is killing me a bit.

I KNOW this post is cringe in and of itself. But…am I really alone here? And I genuinely would love to hear why others dont feel this way.

And YES the whites be crazy too of course but this is an in house discussion. Help a black girl enjoy this show without internalized racist shame please!

The jokes of it all

I feel like Zach always saying "I'm joking" is like when YouTubers used to say "it's just a prank bro". He gets to say whatever BS he wants as a joke, and Kayda or anyone else can't get mad because it's just a jOkE. It's like he's saying how he really feels without consequences.

The Colorism Double Standard in the Fandom

Why was it that when people came forward about Kayda allegedly being a bully in high school, everyone dismissed the allegations and didn’t care? (And no, I’m not talking about the little white girls who said Kayda was bullying them; I’m talking about someone who was trans and said that Kayda bullied them for being trans.)

But when somebody said that Amora was their high school bully, everyone jumped on her and started attacking her online. Both situations have absolutely no receipts, yet Amora’s alleged bullying situation was taken seriously while Kayda’s wasn’t.

Both are beautiful women, but it’s really giving colorism and fans picking and choosing who they want to believe.

Can I pull you (reddit-er’s) for a chat?

Soooooo, no one is going to talk about the oopty oop ol’ girl put on Corbin to get them closed off? No one is going to say that was FAST? An insecure move?
And why would that woman be insecure? 🤔 I do not know… His response in that moment was VERY LOUD while also being very quiet. Does he like her? Yep. Did she put his back against the wall? She did. But guess what? She still didn’t get him enthusiastically choosing her or saying it first.
To me, that little moment of insecurity could be a foundational crack. (Just my opinion, throwing it out there to see if it’s just me.) Corbin = Bryan 2.0

Now to the puppeteer, aka Chad, I mean Zach, and his puppets: the villa boys (not the Casa boys) and Kayda.
I was really disappointed when she gave him the cookie because HE DID NOT DESERVE IT. And what he said immediately after is exactly why I say he is a predator.
That comment about “if a bombshell comes in…” RIGHT after sex? Absolutely not. I will never vote for him to win. When Kayda gets out, puts two and two together, and realizes we are on her side and that she is not crazy… it’s going to hit differently. He has done nothing but eat away at Kayda’s confidence one comment and one look at a time. He is THEE WORST, right before KC.
And if ZACH were Black, this entire situation would have been received very differently.

Titi and Amora

Gotta applaud these two ladies. They watched KC and Sincere in real time, the first time around, and already knew what time it was. Did you see them watching Sincere’s Movie Night clips and smirking? Hahaha. They played their way into the Villa for realz.

Mental Health

I realize alot of people here probably have not watched the UK version of love island so maybe you don’t understand the impact that social media can have on a person when they get out the villa. Just so you know multiple persons on love island UK have taken themselves out of this world because of stuff like this so all I ask is for some empathy on all sides, holding someone accountable is one thing but sometimes we need to give people space to breath and come back.

Jessie Woo is a Hypocrite

This is a cross post, but is mainly for the Love Island blk page.

Idk if you guys watch her Love Island reviews, but she’s been so off to me all season. I’m not sure which secret of her’s KC has, or what kind of relationship they must have that we don’t know about, but the way she’s been defending and coddling this man all season is quite literally making me sick. Even in her last few reviews where she’s supposedly “holding him accountable,” she’s still giving him all that leeway he stated he should have had with Aniya (because he “spoke life into her”). I think Jessie has been significantly minimizing KC’s transgressions, while doing the opposite for every single thing Aniya does. She seems to really dislike Aniya. And then she complains about how the internet is treating TiTi, and how she feels those doing so are hypocritical for not “protecting Black women,” but in the same video is shitting all over Aniya, a Black woman. Make it make sense. And this isn’t me saying that Aniya is blameless or completely innocent in all of this (I’m definitely not a fan of how she carried on at Movie Night, although I understand it), but I don’t understand how she can be getting more backlash than KC is from anyone. Are people not realizing that KC’s entire persona in the first half of the season was fake? Okay, maybe that’s a stretch, but I do believe he played nice because he felt he had no options, and now that he does, he’s showing his entire arrogant ass. If I’m being real, the way he was talking in Casa about what Aniya owed him or did and didn’t do with/for him sounded 🍇y to me. Even Jessie’s comments about how Aniya needed to give KC a little something gave me the ick. I understand that Jessie has a man now and probably really wants to get married, but the pandering is insane.

PARMIDA

I truly dislike Pasmada. Don't get me wrong, she is beautiful, her body shows how hard she works for it, and she seems like a nice person (to whomever it's convenient for). Yet, you can have the most beautiful face and body, but if your character and personality are trash... ¿de qué te sirve?

Maybe we don't see different sides of her because the episodes are heavily edited. Let’s be so real: it's a 1hr episode edited down from days of filming in that villa. But the side we do see is very condescending. If we are going to call out the men in the villa like KC and Corbin, let's hold the women to the same standards. Both men and women deserve respect, no?

Casa/Bombshells are given a prep packet. Correct me if I'm wrong, but she knew exactly what happened between Caleb, Corbin, and Kenzie. So why was she so inconsiderate and cold towards him during that couch scene? To physically scoot away from him, make him feel uncomfortable, turn your back to him, and not even give an explanation? She could have just given him a heads-up like, "Hey, I'm not feeling the husband vibes, I'm going with the lustful vibes instead."

The way she speaks feels so dishonest. She constantly needs to put other women down just to defend herself or think highly of herself. Then she proceeds to speak up and defend Corbin's actions, claiming she didn't "hear" Corbin's comments during the challenge, but she magically heard Zach's? Weird. Let's also not forget the comments she makes just to crack jokes at the expense of women who have valid reactions to feeling betrayed and hurt. The physical stuff between her and Corbin is giving pure deflection at this point.

I know I sound parasocial asf (shoutout to summer vacation 😝), but all the kissing, showering, and intimate touching feels so forced when she’s simultaneously stressing about getting played. Your gut is literally telling you this guy is a manipulative, lying, condescending ho... the same guy that says you two are exactly alike? ALMOST PERFECT LOL... Girl, stand up. That is a warning sign, not a flex.

PS. I also hate how fast reality TV fans switch up online. (Just look at how fast people flipped their scripts on the girl KC brought back from Casa).I'm not buying it. Once you show me you move weird, you always look weird to me. No redemption arc is saving that.

Y’all right Kenzie fetishized Corbin

Y’all have been saying it for weeks and I did see the micro aggressing that Kenzie did when she saw that Melanie was some type of competition for Corbin which was just weird as hell. Athough the last few episodes helped me forget what a mess she is today’s episode (besides the main attraction) was crazy because she was swapping slobber with damn near every new bombshell that came into the villa, and I realize that she was having this conversation breaking Dylan‘s heart about how she was exploring Gal. There was really nothing there and that kiss was disturbing. She really does like anybody that likes her but the thing is out of all her connections that she made or tried to make she never hid the fact that they were engaging the way they were, except for Corbin.

The thing with Corbin was really weird since they’d kissed multiple times in public and private but she’d shared that with whoever she was coupled with. Now all of a sudden she wanted him to be her dirty little secret. Meanwhile, there’s Dylan now over here who’s respected you and you clearly like and he’s your cowboy. He’s planning y’all’s first date outside of the show and you still told him and everyone else that you kissed that slimy little thing named Gal. It’s not adding up it’s really strange behavior. I believe that some point maybe she really did have some type of feelings for Corbin, but this really confirmed that she just moves weird and Jen is completely right to say that she wouldn’t trust her because Kenzie’s out for Kenzie and she doesn’t care about the people that she hurts, but if it’s beneficial to her, she will align herself properly.

Movie Night: choose your fighter

i love that the guys have maintained they didn’t do anything disrespectful and the second they learn their behavior will be played on screen in front of them, they panic. Why panic if you told the truth and weren’t disrespectful? HM. i’m just gonna pull out my hair if Kayda or melanie stays with Zach or sincere after seeing this bullshit
