I have been living in Sweden for year now and I can’t understand how or where to meet new people. I understand that students usually meet people their age in clubs, but is there another way besides nations ?

Är 19 o gått gymnasiet i Lund. En fråga jag alltid undrar är hur folk har många följare på insta! Snackar om 500-1000! Har sådana vänner och ingen chans att man känner så många! Jag tycker att jag känner många o följer alla dem men når inte ens till 300. Sen har jag kompisar som hälsar på några stycken på skolan och har 500 följare.

Jag har börjat ett nytt jobb och följt nästan alla därifrån men lyckades gå upp 20-30 följare.

Hur gör ni som har många? Vad ska jag göra för att få många följare?

Hi! I’m a 2024 B.Tech graduate in Electronics & Communication Engineering from India and currently work at GlobalFoundries as a Fab Integration & Yield Engineer.

By Fall 2027, I expect to have around 3.5 years of total professional experience, including ~2.5 years specifically at GlobalFoundries in the semiconductor industry.

I’m considering Lund University as one of my Master’s options in Europe. My long-term goal is to move toward semiconductor design/DFT/DFM/physical design and related engineering roles.

I’d particularly appreciate perspectives from current/former Lund students in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or semiconductor-related programs:

How strong is Lund for someone who already has several years of semiconductor industry experience?

How relevant are the Electrical Engineering/electronics courses to the semiconductor industry?

How much does prior industry experience help with internships, industry projects and graduate jobs?

How hectic is the Master’s realistically, and is it possible to work part-time alongside it?

How easy is it for international students to find relevant student/engineering jobs?

How strong is the Swedish semiconductor/electronics ecosystem for someone wanting to move toward design/DFT/DFM?

Does Lund provide good industry exposure and networking opportunities?

How is student life and the international community in Lund?

After graduation, how realistic is it to find an engineering job in Sweden and stay long-term?

Most importantly, if you already had ~3.5 years of semiconductor experience, would you consider a Lund Master’s a worthwhile investment for building a semiconductor career in Europe?

I’m comparing several European options at the moment, so I’d really appreciate honest experiences—both the good and the difficult parts.

Jag flyttar från Island till Lund nu i augusti för att studera och försöker hitta en bra vårdcentral att lista mig på.

Jag har bland annat POTS och ADHD/autism och kommer därför behöva ganska regelbunden kontakt med vården. Det är viktigt för mig med en vårdcentral där läkarna lyssnar, tar kroniska besvär på allvar och där det fungerar bra med uppföljning och remisser till specialistvård vid behov. Jag uppskattar också kontinuitet och möjligheten att träffa samma läkare när det går.

Har någon erfarenhet av vårdcentraler i Lund som ni skulle rekommendera – eller någon ni tycker att jag bör undvika?

Jag börjar studera på universitet nu till höst som en snart nybliven 30 åring. Jag funderar lite kring ålder och deltagande under novischperioden! Det är ett perfekt tillfälle att lära känna nya människor, både från samma program men också utanför programmet man läser. Men också att komma in i studentlivet och hitta sammanhang.

Många känner att konceptet kanske är främst för 19-20 åringar som precis lämnat gymnasiet. Min fråga, är det så? Finns där någon osynlig ålder där det blir märkligt att man deltar efter en viss ålder? Har någon här som 25+ eller till och med 30+ deltagit i någon novischperiod? Hur gick det i så fall? Hur var er upplevelse?

Hi, my dad and I (23M) are visiting Lund because our last name is Lund (and because we're doing a Nordic interrail trip).

We're coming in the second week of December, so any good winter suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've heard Broder Jacobs Stenugnsbageri is meant to be nice and obviously we'll be visiting the cathedral. Any thoughts or alternative recommendations?

(Potentially also some tacky souvenir shop would be fun given the name sharing 😂)

We're starting in Oslo, going to Gothenburg, then will be going to Lund Malmö and Copenhagen in the same day, and then travelling to Aarhus. Any recommendations for the other places would also be great. (We'll be spending the night in Oslo, Gothenburg, Copenhagen, and Aardhus).

Pub/Bar recommendations also very much appreciated.

Currently we're planning on going to War Pigs in Copenhagen as I've been before and thought it was great.

Edit: we'll be getting into Lund in the mid morning and only getting to Copenhagen by dinner time so it's not quite as packed a schedule as people are thinking

Hi! I was admitted to a masters programme in Lund with univ scholarship. However, due to the delays in my complementary scholarship in my country, I had to decline the offer and cancel my lund accommodation

I lacked foresight and am now worried I might not be able to get a tuition refund and might pay for the rent. My questions are:

1. Given that I have a scholarship, will I be able to receive a full refund of the remaining out of pocket I had to pay?

2. Will I pay for the rental in lund accommodation (LUACC)?

3. If it happens that I have to pay the rent in my LUAC, is there a workaround to this matter? Unfortunately, I am not capable in paying for the rent.

I have messaged the right authorities and submitted a ticket to LUACC. Help! Is someone in the same situation with me? Or has anyone experienced the same thing?

I'm on student exchange from Australia and I'm feeling very stupid. I turn into the biggest idiot when working with any form of tech so please forgive me.

On Tuesday I bought a Comviq SIM and Fastpris 20 GB at Pressbyrån (which was already a dumb move, I panicked and only realised afterwards that I should have just gotten the mobile plan online). I registered my card, but the next day when I was out and about I still had no internet - when I got back and logged into my account it said I had 0 GB of surf left. I don't know how to add the 20 GB I bought to my account. Retained my receipt if that helps? I'm so sorry, I know I must be missing something glaringly obvious. I really cannot overstate how hopeless I am with tech. I hope you can take pity on me.

Jag har sökt in till Civilingenjörsprogrammet med inriktning väg och vattenbyggnad på LTH. Hamnat som reserv 4 på BI-kvoten efter andra urvalet och vill veta lite perspektiv på om jag möjligtvis kan komma in.

Hitills har följande antal personer blivit antagna:

BII: 12
HP: 38

Efter andra urvalet var det 120 antagna, (nu är det 109 då 11 lämnat återbud). Enligt SYV för programmet så har de 105 platser då de räknar med överintag. Vad skulle ni säga, är det värt att hoppas och tro? Hur många brukar inte dyka upp på uppropet, eller hoppa av inom två veckor efter terminsstarten?

I am an incoming exchange student for this semester and I just got offered a corridor room for SNB, but I am unsure whether to take it or not…

I currently have a room booked in Colive Altum, and whilst it seems quite nice, it’s very expensive & on the outskirts of town. SNB is more than double the room size, way better location & cheaper.

However, im not sure how welcoming SNB is of international students and what the political atmosphere is like living in the housing? - even tho I lean left in politics, I don’t really want to come to Lund to be involved in politics. I am looking to experience a lot of student life, meet new people and make the most of my exchange !
