My 2023 M340s warranty ends on August 10th. So far Im at 50,000 kms having bought it brand new and besides the occasional comfort access issue, the car has been stable.

I plan to at least keep it for another 2 years maybe 3 at most - the dealer is offerring 4900 canadian for a 2 year up to 80,000 kms extended warranty with a basic maintainence plan ie oil change and filters

Everything is telling me to save the money and not buy it but am also hearing the opposite on the g20 forums

Any M340 owners here in the same boat and what do you recommend / or what would you do?

Is it possible to do a custom order since it must be delivered by the end of the promo?

I’ve also been looking at the m440i GC. Custom orderers, are you just searching for a dealer with an allocation who can offer a discount, and accepting whatever the APR is at the time of delivery?

I plan on upgrading to an aftermarket system soon but never took into account that I will still have the stock exhaust laying around after. What do y’all do with it?

So I’m buying a different set of 437m wheels to replace my black 437m. The set I’m buying doesn’t have the TPMS sensors. Can I just get the shop to swap them over to my new rims from my old ones? Thanks.

I’m considering getting a BMW M340i as my first car (likely 2023-2025 model) I wanted to ask for real owner experiences before I commit.

I’m in my early 20s
Would likely put ~$15–20k down
Looking at financing a used M340i
This would be my daily driver year-round (including winter)
My main questions:
1. Maintenance / reliability
How has long-term ownership been on the B58 engine?
Any major issues so far?
What should I realistically expect after warranty ends?
2. Warranty experience (Canada specifically)
Is the standard BMW warranty actually hassle-free in practice?
Have any of you had denied claims due to “wear and tear” or driving style?
How strict is BMW Canada compared to what people say online?
3. Running costs (GTA reality)
What are you actually paying for:
Insurance (especially for younger drivers)
Tires (performance summer + winter setup)
Brake jobs
Routine maintenance outside warranty
4. Winter / daily usability
How is xDrive in real GTA winters?
Any issues daily driving it through snow/salt?
5. “Regret factor”
Would you still buy the M340i again knowing what you know now?
Or would you go something cheaper/more practical?

Looking to lower my 2023, any advice or input on what brands I should be looking at? Want an aggressive stance with wheel spacers to boot. I’ve been looking at H&R at the moment but definitely open to other opinions/options.

I'm seriously thinking of ordering a brand new M340i before production of the current G20 ends, but I'm still undecided. A bit of background: over the years I've owned three different 3 Series generations, so I've always loved the platform. About one year ago, after my son was born, I switched to a new Volvo XC60 because I wanted to try something different, more practical and family-friendly.

I actually like the Volvo. It's comfortable, elegant, quiet and does everything really well. So this isn't a case of replacing a car that I dislike.

The problem is that I keep thinking about BMW and the fact that it may be one of the last opportunities to buy a brand new 3 Series with this engine... it keeps pulling me back.

For those of you who own an M340i:

Do you still enjoy it after months or years of ownership, or does the excitement wear off?

If you have kids, has it been practical enough as a family car?

Is there anything about the car that disappointed you after living with it?

Would you replace a perfectly good car with an M340i?

I'd really appreciate honest opinions, especially from long-term owners.

So for context I’m looking at an M340i for my first car since they’re solid and pretty reliable (also fun asl). I made an upgrade path and was hoping for some comments on it to know what I should change (this is also after a radar detector and dashcam):

1. Catless Downpipe
2. MHD tune
3. Air intake (for the noise; and yes I know to get the hear shield)
4. 15% tint and 30% on the windshield
5. Coilovers
6. Yellow drls (I’ll get laser headlights if it doesn’t already have them)
7. Apex wheels (I am looking at some alternatives tho)
8. Blue wrap (if the car isn’t already)
9. Some small spoiler
10. Front lip
11. Rear diffuser
12. Mirror caps
13. White taillights

(Might just get 10-12 at the same time since they don’t cost that much tg)

People in other sub Reddit’s seem to think I’m buying this new, I am not. I have a top budget of 38k TOPS (which is still a stretch) since I have 9-12k to put down.
