Difference between switch 2 Mario party and 1?

I just got my switch 2. This is my 2nd ever handheld since my psp days. I want Mario party. That $80 price is scary. Does the switch 2 edition have graphical enhancements for Mario party or that just jamboree tv? I don’t care about jamboree tv for now. I just want Mario party. Can I also upgrade to it later?

Mario Party Video Essay

So I watched a YouTube video several years ago about the randomness of Mario party and how the modern games were worse about it, but that vague, unhelpful description right there is literally the best I can remember lol. I wanted to rewatch it but for the life of me I can’t remember enough details to find it in a search. I was hoping maybe someone here would recognize it, or baring that, that people could recommend good videos on the topic and I’d find it through aggregate (or at least watch other good videos lol).

Thanks for anyone chiming in!

Where's my party people?!

Where's my party people?

I've been searching for people to play MPJ online with! But it seems like more often than not I can search for an hour and still not find any.

So I'm hoping to find some people who really enjoy playing that would be interested in adding codes to play together.

Just a little intro to me.. I'm 35F, married, SAHW, no kids, and I'm an OG party lover. I'm not always GOOD at the game but it's always a blast.

I'm really looking for whoever wants to play the game and have fun with it. I don't care if you're a long time player or today is the first day youve held a controller. I'd prefer +18 overall but I'm totally open to parents or siblings with younger ones who just wanna play the game.

It's definitely more fun with friends!

If you're interested drop a comment or dm me and we can exchange codes ❤️

One of my favorite aspects of MPDS is how everybody is tiny and all the boards and minigames are built around everyday household objects.

Which board would you use to show off Mario Party 4 to a friend who has never played it?

My friend and I are doing a sampler platter of of the early Mario Party games! We've braved Horror Land, taken a nice stroll through Woody Woods, and our next stop is Mario Party 4.

And so I ask you all... If you had only one game to show off Mario Party 4 to a friend, which board would you pick?

Why do you even play Mario party in the first place?

I play it due to the incredible challenges I come up with on a daily basis and how I can turn them into different forms of content

Mario Party 5 became unplayable for me after going back from 6 and 7

Mario Party 6 and 7 have always been my favorites in the series, so recently I decided to go back and give Mario Party 5 another shot… and wow, it feels so underwhelming now.

Everything that 6 and 7 improved on, 5 feels like it did worse. The orb system is frustrating because you constantly end up running into your own traps, and the fact that you can’t even buy specific orbs makes it even more annoying since it’s all randomized. Want a Mushroom Orb so you can roll 2 or 3 dice? Good luck getting one consistently.

The game also starts to feel really repetitive after around 10–15 turns. The boards are too small, and there aren’t really any fun mechanics to shake things up during a match. Compare that to Mario Party 6’s day/night cycle or Mario Party 7’s Bowser Time, which kept games feeling fresh and chaotic.

Thank God Nintendo realized what needed improving with 6 and 7, because going back to 5 after those games is rough for me now.

Does anyone else feel the same way, or am I being too harsh on Mario Party 5?
