Mova p10 pro ultra acting strange suddenly!

Disregard the disgusting floor, we have great danes and a ton of rain lately! Anyway I tried to begin a vacuum then mop session and received an error saying robot couldn’t not get a location. Found it just doing a little back and forth semi circle dance about 5 feet from the base. I put it back in the base and watched it try and begin again and instead of driving forward it immediately turns to its right like it wants to exit out the back of the base. Picked it up and instead of realizing the wheels were off the ground 1 wheel just kept spinning. Went through all of the trouble shooting steps I could find online and mova’s website including factory resets 2 times and it still wants to do this. I’m still under warranty so have contacted mova but was curious in the meantime if anyone has experienced this and know a fix before I go through the hassle of swapping this thing out.

Worst customer service

So, I bought 2 toothbrushes that were on sale for -80%. I should have identified the red flag from this very moment. Anyways, I still ordered, it arrived and one of the toothbrush stopped working the next day. I reached out to their customer support and after multiple confirmations from my end about my details, they never sent a replacement, as if they were delaying it intentionally. 2 weeks later, other toothbrush stopped working too. I wrote them another email, this time asking for refund rather replacement.

Now, I have 2 useless toothbrushes that don’t work and this is what customer support asked me to do. What kind of pathetic CS is this? I know for sure that MOVA products are trash and should be thrashed but who ask their customer to send a video of it being destroyed before refund. I am more than willing to ship it back and they can incinerate it themselves provided they take care of shipping fee but this is the first time I have heard of such stellar refund process.

Anyways, the point is beware of this company. I had plans of buying their vacuum robot considering how good they are specs to price wise but the low prices come from cheap quality and non-existent customer service.

P10 pro ultra dock clean question

Question for Support I think. Instructions for dock cleaning say to wash the mops afterwards. I can’t find this option in the menus. Does it mean remove and wash them manually? I think they are washed after every time I do a cleaning so I’m not sure this is even necessary.

Dead bugs in the clean water?

So I have a P10 Pro Ver2 and it works great. I usually clean the dirty tank and refill the clean tank every other week.

However, there are always dead bugs IN the clean tank? I'm not sure how they get in there, or how to avoid it in the future. I'd hate for them to clog up the system. Any ideas?

P50 Pro Ultra not leaving mop pads in base station

From what I've read online, the vacuum should leave the mop pads in the dock if doing only a vacuuming task or a mop after vacuum task. In my case, however, they never get detached. I also cannot find the option in the settings to enable this feature. Any help will be appreciated!

Is this Sound normal?

My P50 Pro Ultra makes this Sound that sounds like scratching to me. Does not seem to have left any marks in the wood but is not a nice background sound and a worrying one given we have hardwood floors.

I bought the robot refurbished and have not attached the mop pads.

Is there reason to worry/ return/ fix sth?

Thanks for your help!

Vaccuming and wool carpet

I have a Z60 Ultra Roller Complete and since a month I have a new carpet (made of wool). The Z60 is destroying my brand new carpet.

It’s pulling out the wool fibres as it is vacuuming, resulting in wool debris coming from the carpet everywhere.

Result: I have a great looking new carpet looking filthy.

Is this normal with a new carpet and will it stop after a while, or is it because of the rolling brushes it pulls out the fibres and this will go on forever?

Another thing, when it’s emptying at the dock, it sounds like a plane taking off, really loud. I had the same robot before, got it replaced with a new one, and that didn’t make such loud noise. Is it a firmware update?
PS: my previous one seemed to do a much better job…

P10 Pro Ultra Accessories

I need to buy new accessories to replace the original ones I have but the accessory pack is sold out on the MOVA website. Other than Temu, where are you all buying your accessories?

How often do they get restocked on the MOVA site?

A month with the V50

I’ve now had my V50 for a little over a month, so I figured it was time for an update now that the honeymoon period is over. Overall, I’m still extremely happy with my purchase. It has made a noticeable difference in how clean the house stays day to day.

Vacuuming & Pet Hair
We have a pug and a Bernese Mountain Dog, so pet hair was one of my biggest concerns when buying a robot vacuum. The V50 has handled it incredibly well. There is simply never a layer of loose dog hair sitting on the carpets anymore, and the floors consistently feel clean under bare feet.
I still use a traditional upright for periodic deep cleaning, and even that is picking up dramatically less loose hair than it did before the V50. That has been one of the best indications of just how much the robot is removing during its daily maintenance cleaning.
Even more impressive, I’ve had essentially no hair wrap around the V50’s main brushes. When I removed and washed them after about a month, there was only a tiny amount of hair caught around one end.
I currently have it vacuum daily and mop twice a week, which seems to be a good balance for my house.

Dust Bag & Dock
With two heavily shedding dogs, the first dust bag lasted about a month rather than the advertised longer intervals. That honestly doesn’t bother me considering how much hair this house produces. The bag was also genuinely packed when I replaced it, so the dock seems to make very good use of the available bag capacity.
The dock continues to be one of my favorite parts of the system. Mop washing works extremely well, and I’ve found that a three-hour drying cycle works better in my home than the two-hour setting. At three hours, the pads come out completely dry.

Obstacle Avoidance
The obstacle avoidance continues to impress me.
Recently, one of my dogs left a little “present” on the floor while nobody was home. The V50 recognized it as an uncleanable mess, marked its location on the map, avoided it, and continued cleaning around it.
Anyone who has ever had an older robot vacuum run over a pet accident knows exactly how valuable this feature is. My previous robot once did precisely that and left me with an enormous mess to clean, so seeing the V50 handle the situation correctly was a huge win.
I’ve also been impressed with how closely it can clean around furniture and other objects without constantly banging into things.

Mapping & Navigation
I did end up remapping the house about three weeks in because the original map seemed to have gotten a little confused. A fresh map completely resolved the strange behavior I had been seeing, and navigation has been excellent again.
The robot will occasionally clean rooms in an unexpected order, but I’ve discovered there is usually a reason. For example, if one of the dogs is lying in or blocking a doorway, the V50 may skip that room temporarily and return to it at the end of the cleaning cycle rather than repeatedly fighting to get through.
I’ve also noticed that the map becomes more detailed as the robot continues cleaning and learning the house.

Maintenance
Maintenance has been pretty easy.
I rotate the mop pads every couple of weeks and put the used set through the washing machine. The dock does an excellent job keeping them clean between those deeper washes.
I regularly use the hose from my full-size vacuum to clean dust out of the V50’s dust-box filter, which works extremely well and reduces how frequently the filter needs to be washed.
When I eventually did wash the filter, I let the dust box and filter air-dry until they were about 90% dry, reinstalled them, and ran the V50’s dust-box/bag drying cycle. The hot-air drying finished the job beautifully, and everything came out completely dry. That has turned out to be a surprisingly useful feature.

Things I’d Still Like to See Improved
There really aren’t many complaints after a month, but I would love to see MOVA expand the customization available for CleanGenius.
In particular, I’d like more control over what CleanGenius does in individual rooms. I would also love the ability to create a shortcut for selected rooms and simply tell the robot to use CleanGenius for those rooms rather than having to manually specify all of the cleaning parameters.
I’d also like a little more transparency about why CleanGenius makes certain decisions. The robot is clearly adapting its behavior, but it would be interesting if the app explained some of those choices.

One Month Later
After a little over a month, I’m still extremely impressed with the V50. It isn’t just that the floors look cleaner—the house stays cleaner between deep cleanings.
The biggest difference is how little loose dirt and pet hair ever gets the chance to accumulate. The floors feel freshly cleaned almost all the time, and even cleaning up the occasional pet mess no longer results in wiping a bunch of loose dog hair off the carpet along with it.
The combination of excellent pet-hair pickup, virtually no brush tangles, genuinely useful obstacle avoidance, good mopping, accurate navigation, and the self-maintaining dock has made this one of those purchases where I can actually see the difference it has made in everyday life.
At the one-month mark, I’m still very happy I bought it.

Unable to delete threshold/ramp in the app

The app automatically added a threshold at a spot with a very gentle slope. As a result, the robot extends its legs to cross it, resulting in a very harsh bump when it crosses over. I suspect with time this may cause damage to the robot.

I would like to remove this threshold. However, when I try and remove it in the Threshold/Ramp section, I am not able to "save" my changes. I get the error "different thresholds cannot overlap" as per the screenshot. However there are clearly no longer any thresholds on the map.

Would appreciate if anyone knows how I can fix this issue. I'm just trying to remove a threshold.

Mova V50 Pro Ultra makes a rattling sound and fails to dock

My relatively new P50 Pro Ultra makes a loud rattling sound and fails to dock. Any thoughts on what could be wrong? The wheels seem fine, the main brush is clean and the sensors are clean. The problem persists across different docks and with or without the mop pads. All ideas are appreciated!

Looking for a robot vac that won’t feel outdated after a year

I’ve owned a couple of robot vacuums before, and my biggest frustration is how quickly they started having issues. One developed navigation problems after a while, and another became unreliable after an OTA update.

That experience made me care less about having the newest model every year. A lot of newer releases seem to focus on adding small upgrades, but what matters to me is something that’s reliable, easy to maintain, and works well.

I’m currently looking at mova p70 for its warranty and overall features. Would love to hear from real users before pulling the trigger.

MOVA Z70 owners: Has the retractable LiDAR logic been fixed compared to the Z60?

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm looking into getting the MOVA Z70, but I want to verify if they fixed the annoying retractable LiDAR behavior from the Z60.

On the Z60, the retracted LiDAR logic was really frustrating:

  • 1️⃣ You had to manually configure low-clearance zones on the map.
  • 2️⃣ It cleaned the entire room first, and then lowered the LiDAR at the very end to clean under low furniture.
  • 3️⃣ The main issue: While cleaning under cabinets/furniture at the end, it would flick dust and crumbs back out into the middle of the already clean floor and just finish the job!

For anyone who owns or has tested the Z70:

  • ❓ Does it detect low furniture heights automatically in real time now?
  • ❓ Does it clean under low furniture as part of its normal grid pass, or does it still save those areas for the end of the run?
  • ❓ Does it still throw dirt back onto clean floor areas when the LiDAR is retracted?

Thanks for your help! 🙏✨

Mova z50 ultra dragging trash around

Hi,

Let me preface this by saying I've just sent this to the Mova support team, but was hoping that maybe some of you have ideas on how to fix this quickly.

I have a MOVA Z50 Ultra with the roller mop and it has recently stopped picking up debris and is instead dragging trash around (it worked great for around 6 months).

I have checked for blockages (both on the vacuum and base) and found none. I have also:

  • Replaced the filter
  • Replaced the Tri-Brush
  • Checked the rubber on the Tri-Brush cover

The vacuuming noise sounds normal, and navigation also appears to be working normally. A very small amount of debris does end up in the dust box, but the majority of debris is simply dragged around rather than being picked up.

I also tested the robot upside down to see if the brush was spining, it briefly worked and the Tri-Brush was still spinning (it stopped almost immediately complaining that it was not in contact with the ground, so i'm not sure if the Tri-brush is spinning when in contact with the ground or not.

Any ideas on what I could try next?

P10 Pro Ultra Gen 1 first week impressions -- pretty good but a few glitches

I recently picked up the P10 Pro Ultra Gen 1 and wanted to share some thoughts, and see if anyone has figured out workarounds for the problems I have found.

Our home has one long-haired human, one long-haired cat, and one short-haired cat, so the cleaning burden is not too high.

Why Gen 1?

I chose Gen 1 over the Gen 2 because reviews were almost unanimous that Gen 1 obstacle avoidance was superior. I suspected I would be happier with better obstacle avoidance and OK cleaning, compared to Gen 2's worse obstacle handling and better cleaning.

Good stuff

The robot basically does the job -- it gets around the house well, and tolerates it when furniture moves around. Vacuuming and mopping are working fine. Obstacle handling is OK, with the caveat below.

Between Clean Genius and custom cleaning I have all the options I need. The floors are looking good, the family is happy, and I am having fun being the robot wrangler.

I had problems on day one where the robot was basically lobotomized, unable to create a map or do anything at all. This may have been due to my blocking some domains the app wanted to talk with via my ad blocker. I whitelisted everything it wanted to talk to and the problem went away. Or, maybe it was the reboots I did. Not sure.

Overall I feel like the robot was a good value at $350. If it was $600 like at launch, I'd be much more irritated about the problems I have found.

Problem 1: Video features are unreliable

Often I am unable to start the live video feed. It gives a generic failure message and a retry button. Retrying almost never works. If I reboot the robot, immediately thereafter video seems to work fine. (I worry that if I cannot get the video feed to work, the robot may not have access to video itself for obstacle handling, but I have not tested this.)

"Find Pet" mode has also not worked at all. It has actually driven into my fat cat a few times and never detected a pet. I was watching the video feed, there were a lot of clear and well lit cat images, but the robot just couldn't detect him.

The overall impression is that video is flaky and I cannot rely on it if I am going to be away from home and unable to reboot the robot. Video fun features are not why I bought the robot, but I sure wish they worked better.

Problem 2: The headlight doesn't always come on when needed

When it is dark, the headlight should come on, but sometimes it won't come on at all. I have found the robot working in the dark, and when it refuses to turn on the headlight it is obviously more at risk from obstacles. I found it lost in the dark having eaten a cable and dislodged its mops. That has never happened in a lit room, or when the headlight works.

When the headlight won't come on in the dark, if I start the video feed and turn the headlight to Manual and then back to Auto, the headlight stays on as you would expect. I can also get the headlight to come on as expected if I reboot the robot right before sending it out to clean.

So, overall, it feels like the headlight is kind of buggy and the chance of having a problem increases with the time since the last reboot.

Because the headlight seems to be pretty important for obstacle avoidance, this is my number one problem currently.

Problem 3: Washboard base cleaning cycle may not dispense or pump up water

The first time I did a washboard cleaning cycle, the app moved nicely through all the steps... Except the base never dispensed any water, and then never turned on the pump. After I power-cycled the base, the washboard cleaning cycle worked as expected. Again, a problem fixed with a reboot.

Conclusion

My overall impression is that the robot is pretty fun and works well enough. Still, there are some software problems that mean I cannot rely on all of its features working without forcing a reboot. I'd like to not have to think about the last time I rebooted the robot or the dock.

I can put the dock on a smart outlet and power cycle it daily, but there is no way that I have found to automatically reboot the robot. I'd like a way to do a soft reboot from the app, rather than having to lift the robot out of the dock and hold the power button. That would at least let me reboot the robot to restore video features while I was away from home.

Ideally of course, this would all be improved with new software and just work automagically.

I hope this helps someone, and that Mova can continue to make improvements.

Shortcut with Vac after mop did not mop

Hello, I just received a mova V50 ultra complete and so far I am loving it. 1 quick question though. I set up a shortcut to clean some specific rooms “vac then mop” and the first time I ran the shortcut this morning it did vac fine, but it never ran the mop task. I didn’t get any errors or anything and the clean water tank and cleaning solution tanks are full. It’s like the robot never even recognized it was supposed to mop after vacuuming. Once it was done vacuuming it just said task complete and docked.

I did have the settings set to “mop after vacuuming” and “intensive” on. I’m wondering if any one has experience with this or if there is a known bug? I know the robot can mop because I’ve already had it mop on different tasks. Just seems like maybe a software bug or maybe I configured something wrong.

Let me know! Thanks!

Z70 ultra roller is ignoring carpets

My Z70 is ignoring carpets completely during clean genius or regular vac+mopp/ vac only cleaning tasks. The app settings are all correct and it normally should vacuum the carpet area first but isn't doing so. The support asked me if the sensors are clean and if I tried to turn the robot off and on again (guess what I'm doing once a week while I'm cleaning the robot).

Any other ideas they don't have.
