For my fellow weebs 🇯🇵

Stumbled upon this hidden gem of a manga a few years ago. Thinking it would be easy to find or import to the US, made the mistake of buying only the volumes with MR2 cover art. Just came back from another trip but this time acquired the entire set.

Translated chapters can be found on mangadex.org

Blinks when key is in and when key is turned to the on position, car will not start.

is this actually the immobilizer light if so that would definitely suck

Did a ton of research today to compare swap options. These are all used/eBay prices

Sadly I don't plan on owning this forever so I should probably leave it stock

Just bought today! Only $2k but the transmission blew up on the drive home lol

It was such a good deal, I'm not upset at all. I plan on pulling and rebuilding the engine and transmission. Maybe even turboing if it's reasonable

Where are we at on Monkeywrench Racing?

Looking to order a 2ZZGE and a C60. Wondering who has had good experiences with getting engines from MWR recently?

Also, does anyone know if the LSD in my 05 stock 5 speed transmission can be swapped into the C60 trans? (I'm assuming the ring gear would need to be swapped)

Thanks!

Advice on complete AC rebuild

Albuquerque is pushing into Phoenix territory this summer and my Spyder's AC is struggling. I'd ideal like to get a kit for a complete replacement for it, but it looks like they only do that for popular cars like my Corvette, which also needs the same treatment. Can anyone point me towards any such kits or at least a comprehensive parts list?

A few years ago, I replaced the compressor and thermal expansion valve because the old compressor was completely dead. Unfortunately, I think the ghost of that old compressor might still haunt the system and chunks the internals may still be stuck in there. It worked great after I replaced the compressor, but as the years go by, I can feel it losing efficacy.

Edit: sorry the King of the Hill meme got butchered, I blame reddit.

Purchased an aftermarket muffler/backbox but it did not come with a new gasket or flange screws, what kind of gasket do I need and what size screws/nuts?

TRD door stabilizers

Been watching these on ebay for awhile but didn't pull the trigger because they are so expensive at $153.59. Then I found them on AliExpress for $48.59 and pulled the trigger. Wow what a difference! The car feels less rickety and more rubbery (damped) Props to TRD and AliExpress!

I just found this on AliExpress:

Before I buy 2001

Hi noobie here.

Test drove a 2001 under 70k miles

Looks, sounds and drives like it's new. 5 speed manual smooth.

I seriously doubt the pre-cat issues have been delt with though. (I plan to have that done or swap it out if I buy this car)

I have no way of knowing if it burns oil or how much. But I see no blue smoke or smells of any kind.

How can I know if the damage is already done? I read I can pull the O2 sensors and see at least the health of the cat.

Any other tips / advice?
