Guys, mind your nuts

I have never over torqued the rear wheel nut and it still destroyed the threads while adjusting the chain. I guess you should replace the nut if you torque it more than couple of times 🤷‍♂️

2025 Saddlebags and Mounting Brackets.

Looking for recommendations for 2025 model saddlebags. I'd rather go with saddlebags vs a top case. Looking to do overnight stays vs major touring. I've been looking on the web, but personal experience speaks louder than web descriptions.

first ride

Passed my license today at 11:40am, went home and got on my bike in 30 minutes, did a 140km ride with my dad, god this bike is amazing!! dare i say best day of my life

only thing im slightly worried bout now is, hopefully i didnt abuse the bike too much, its its first 150kms, and i got to admit i was pushing it here and there, but i always shifted at like 6000rpms at most, they told me take it easy but no need to baby it😅
hopefully everythings fine, no weird jerks or sounds or whatever so yeah lets see

but yeah i dont think i ever enjoyed something this much, hopefully weathers good tomorrow too, time for another 200km ride😂

Mt 07 2023 mods

Recently bought my first bike. It’s a 2023 MT-07 with the color TFT, and it’s completely bone stock at the moment. I’m curious to see what mods you guys have done to this generation.
I’m looking to start doing some stuff to mine, so I’d love to see your builds and get some inspiration. Drop some pics! 👀

For those of you that have rode on a Yamaha MT07 and R7.

I’ve currently got a 24 R7 but unsure if I want to trade for an MT. I love the way fairings look of sport bikes which is why I got the R7 but damn do road trips get uncomfortable after 4 hours. Is there anyway to make it more comfortable? I’ve thought about doing clip on risers and it would be the cheaper option but I want to know people with experience with both

color code

Good afternoon, everyone. I need to paint the tank on my "09" (MT-09), and I figured I might as well paint the fairings while I'm at it. I'm having a really hard time finding the color codes; I've tried contacting Yamaha, searching online, and even using AI... It looks like the tank code is 0564 DPBMC and the fairing code is 0960 MBM3. Has anyone dealt with this before or can confirm the codes for me? My "09" is the blue and matte gray model; I can't take it to a paint shop to have the color scanned...

ENGINE PROTECTORS

I wanna find some good but cheap, if possible, engine protectors for my 2025 yamaha mt07, If someone got any suggestions, I am really looking forward to seeing them. Just something minimal that protects the bike in case of a small drop, not something like a crash cage

Windshields that don’t make inserting key a pain in the ass?

I own a 2020 MT07 and every windshield I’ve seen makes putting in your key a pain. I have my Quadlock positioned right above my display, so it’s harder now but even back before I put the quadlock above my display, having a windshield was a pain.

Aside from just removing the windshield, are there any options?

2026 MT-07 Chain Questions

I have a brand new MT-07, when I got it, it seemed like the chain was super lose. Measured about 3 inches in slack on the chain.

My question is, is the 2 inches measured in the video within spec? Am I measuring the chain tension right? Sorry if these are dumb questions but this is my first Yamaha and I want to try and do everything myself. From everything I’ve found online it appears that I’m measuring right.

Second question, the adjustment tally marks on the swing arms, do they need to be exactly the same? Right now I have the left side at right above 10 hash marks, and the right side is right below 10 hash marks( will post pictures in comments). Will this be a problem? Or do I just send it. It feels like when I try to loosen the right side to get it just above 10 hash marks it fucks up the whole tensioning.

Thank you for looking through my post and hopefully giving me some helpful answers 🙏. If you have any advice for a new Yamaha owner please let me know.

Clutch engagement, help!

Noob question here. Never thought I'd catch myself asking for help on here, usually I'm the one giving the answers but here I am at your mercy, lol.

My MT has been down for a bit and it's receiving a few new parts including a new clutch lever, cable, and clutch arm.

My problem: something feels off about getting the adjustment right. It just feels way stiffer than it should be. Either it's stiff but I feel like thats where the engagement point is, or I get it where it feels more correct but it seems way too short.

Can anyone post or send me a picture of where their clutch arm at the engine case is static, and where it is when the clutch is fully disengaged? I feel like I'm missing something but I don't know what. My friend's MT's clutch is effortless with his 1FNGR clutch lever. I have a similar lever (Sicshop) and can't get anywhere near that butter feeling without feeling like the clutch isn't engaged. Bike is still apart in other areas so can't take it for a test ride. TIA

Did I order the right part (quick shifter) for my 2025 mt07?

Just want to double check because in the listing it doesn’t specify what year this is for

Axle Thread Issue?

I've seen a few posts here talking about the importance of cleaning and lubing the axle threads when doing chain maintenance. Can someone explain to me what this is about and the best way to accomplish it if necessary? (I'm new to maintenance, but have been learning to do more on my 2025 MT07.)

Thanks!

Buying a MT07

I am getting rid of my klr650 to get a mt07. Im going out to test ride one next week and if i like it I may plan on getting it same day. More interested in buying new as i do put a fair bit of km on my bikes that I’ve had before, around 10,000 or more a year. Also I’ve seen that they upgraded the suspension and chassis. Is there any problems with the 2026 year, and am I over looking it and look at used? The prices just still seem high in my area comparing to brand new.
