I bought a Pro licence for MacWhisper in 2025 and at first it seemed to work ok. It wasn't quite as good as I expected given the hype I had read on Gumroad, but that's advertising.

But as I started working with longer-form content (high quality podcasts and sound files over more than 15-20mins in length), the performance dropped significantly. The transcription output trailed off into a useless stutter (endless repetition of the same few words, over and over again) after only a few minutes of work. I tried changing the models I was using, finding (very strangely) that the "Small" model often didn't have the stutter compared with the "Turbo" or "Large V3", but the accuracy was greatly reduced.

I have now emailed the support team at least twice in the last month and a half trying to get support for the issues I've been having and have heard nothing.

On the MacWhisper Gumroad page it says a Pro licence gets you the following (among other things):

"Higher priority support. I'll try to email you back as soon as possible if you run into anything."

I don't feel I've received higher priority support for having purchased a Pro licence. In fact, I'm left feeling this has been a waste of money. NotebookLM does a decent job of transcribing sound files, without the stutter, and costs nothing to use.

If so much time hadn't passed since I had purchased my Pro licence, I'd ask for a refund - but that would assume emails are being read to begin with.

All in all, my experience of MacWhisper has been that it's a very disappointing and expense mistake

I use MW to transcribe interviews, and I'd like to use it for transcribing voice memos. These are longish recordings - 10 minutes or so - and when I do this, MW just gives me on block of text. I'd like to know if there's a way to get it to recognize long pauses, and insert paragraph breaks.

Or, if MW can't do this, is there anything that can?

I’m posting here because I’m having some difficulty getting a response regarding my MacWhisper Pro refund request, and I’m hoping someone from the MacWhisper team can help — especially u/ineedlesssleep, since I understand you’re one of the developers here.

I purchased MacWhisper Pro this Wednesday. Unfortunately, after trying it, I realized that the Pro version did not solve the issues I was having. I therefore emailed support requesting a refund on the very same day I made the purchase.

The refund policy on the MacWhisper website states:

“If you’re not satisfied with MacWhisper Pro, contact us within 7 days of purchase detailing your concerns, and we’ll process a refund.”

So I made sure to contact support immediately and well within the stated 7-day refund period.

Since then, I haven’t received a response or confirmation regarding my refund. I’ve also sent a follow-up email asking for an update and an estimated response time, but I haven’t heard back yet.

I’m becoming concerned because I’ve seen some posts here on Reddit from other users mentioning difficulties or delays when requesting refunds. I understand that support may take some time to respond, but because the website specifically establishes a 7-day period, I want to make sure there is a clear record that I exercised my right to request the refund on the same day I purchased Pro.

u/ineedlesssleep, could you please provide some feedback or help me check the status of my request? Even an indication of the expected response time would be greatly appreciated.

I’m not looking to criticize MacWhisper or the team. I simply want the refund request I submitted within the stated policy period to be acknowledged and processed.

I have been using MacWhisper for a long time, and I have been using the Large V3 Turbo model as a local model. It was working perfectly. All of a sudden, I noticed a complete drop in accuracy with this model. I have tried other models as well; they are both suffering from the same issue.

I have switched now to Raycast voice dictation as an interim solution. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and reinstalling the local models, but the accuracy has still dropped significantly.

I'm not sure if anyone is experiencing this problem, and if so, what workaround have you used to restore the accuracy levels?

Machine: MacBook Pro M1 Pro 16"

I connected LM Studio to MacWhisper, when I click "Summarize" if automatically loads the text to model in LM Studio and I see how it starts to generate tokens - and then it finished with "[qwen/qwen3.5-9b] Finished streaming response" - but nothing is shown in MacWhisper after that, still a blank screen with "Summarizing...". MacWhisper registers that generation is done, as button "Stop" turn to "Summarize again" when it's finished - but text isn't there.

Tried to re-summarize again and again - nothing changes. If I change some settings, for example remove custom summary prompt or reset any changes I made to model settings in LM Studio- text can appear again. But I don't understand what causes this. With all settings model ends up with "Finished streaming response", so it should work.

I have Macbook Pro with M5 Pro and 24GB RAM.

I believe a month ago I stated this was a huge problem. Updates have come out that don't address this.

In version 12 you could see every meeting you had in the side bar. Now you can only view 5. This nerf has made the feature completely irrelevant. Forcing navigation via Meetings window is a huge step back. My meeting titles have very long names and the forced meeting home screen truncates the titles no matter what I resize the window to. I had to spend an hour just to find 4 meetings in this "better" configuration. This means I need to open every meeting just to see the title. The ability to see full history in the sidebar needs to come back. In the side bar config, I could just resize it to see the full meeting titles. Why did we lose this functionality?

Exact same everything, but when I try to grab subtitles, it's just long, long paragraphs. Can anyone help out here please? I am on Macwhisper Pro Version 14.1 (1460)
