Do you recommend Florida Motel&Casino nightclub?

Going with some friends to Madrid end of month and been told about this club, do you recommend if you've been to? Thanks!

how to meet people/women in Madrid during the summer?

Hey all. I'll be visiting Madrid in August. I want to spend some evenings out to try and challenge myself and my social anxiety. I'm 43.

What are the best spots where it's easy to mingle, meet locals, and maybe chat with single women without it being a high-pressure club environment? Appreciate the local insight, thanks

Locals — if you had ONE meal to impress an out-of-towner, where would you send them?

I am visiting soon and I don’t want the typical “Top 10 tourist restaurants” from Google. I want the places locals genuinely love and keep going back to.
Could be:
a tiny hidden gem
best late-night food
legendary breakfast spot
hole-in-the-wall with insane flavors
family-run restaurant
best street food
best dessert in town
overrated spots to avoid 👀
I’m open to EVERYTHING — cheap eats, fancy dinners, weird local specialties, comfort food, food trucks… all of it.
Bonus points if you tell me:
What to order
Best time to go
What makes it special
Would love to build my food list based on local recommendations instead of influencer hype. 🙏
Drop your absolute must-try spots below! 🍻

Best halal burger spots to go with friends in Madrid?

Why is it still so hard to find proper halal burgers in Madrid? 😅

Compared to cities like London, the halal food scene here still feels really limited outside of kebabs and shawarma places.

Feels like Madrid is finally starting to get better though. Anyone found any genuinely good halal burger spots around the city?

14 days Madrid with Teen daughter

Hi everyone. I’m planning a summer dad and daughter trip. It’s her first time in Europe but I have traveled to Spain before. Being that it’s 14 days and knowing that the first 2 days are travel overnight and settle in and last day is travel back, I created the itinerary below. I do not want to be rushed and enjoy this trip with her. Any feedback on the itinerary is greatly appreciated. I know one uncertainty that I have is to leave El Escorial and Avila as all in one day or break apart? Also if any other day trip that I should add? Thank you

Madrid Michelin Star Recommendations

I am going to Madrid in a few weeks and want to plan a michelin star dinner for my wife and I. I would prefer to stick around a $200 - $250 price (not including drink pairings). Any recommendations? I'm currently deciding between Saddle, CEBO and EMi? I care more about the actual food than the "theatrics" often associated with Michelin dining. Anything else that I should consider?

Take advantage of museum free times, or too crowded?

I'm visiting Madrid for the first time in mid-June for a few days. I love museums and I'm really excited that Madrid has so many. I will be there during the free days/times for some museums (like Prado museum, 6-8 PM or Sunday 5-7 PM, and Thyssen-Bornemisza on Mondays). But I'm wondering what the crowds are like and if it's better to just pay and go at a different time. There is also the pass that includes 3 museums and it's about 33 EUR which is not so, so much for 3 museums. But there is a lot of stuff I want to do and see in a short time... I'm just not sure as I have never been... I did see some older posts about this but things have changed a lot in the last few years regarding travel and crowds.

I appreciate any advice!!

EDIT: thanks so much, everyone! I've gotten even more advice than what I asked about and I'm so appreciative!

Looking for a non-touristy rooftop bar

Hi all, we are headed to Madrid next week and are looking for a rooftop bar with a vibe or with locals (or preferably both). We have been to Spain a few times but never done this. It does not need to be near our hotel, but we are staying in Salamanca. We are really looking forward to enjoying cocktails on top of the city of Madrid. :)

Cualquier recomendación me vale. Gracias!

Where to get a bocadillo de calameres?

It’s one of my last days in Madrid and I want to try some street food. I’ve seen the bocadillo de calameres and I’m curious as to if this is something worth trying here and if so where to try it? All of the Spanish food here looks good but since I don’t eat pork this seemed like a good option. Anything else I should try?

Recommendations for a week in Madrid

Hi,

I'm going to be spending a week in madrid (23. - 30.06.) and I'm looking for general recommendations and advice.

I'm traveling with my wife (who has to be there 2 days for business, mid week) and a medium sized poodle dog, our accomodations are in Atocha district. We're considering renting a car for a few days and visiting some points of interest outside the city. So far I've found some info on tripadvisor for Toledo, Segovia and Avila, so if nothing else we might go there. But other than that we don't have any specific locations in mind to visit.

So can you please recommend some notable locations inside the city and outside?

We'd also love to taste local cuisine, so recommendations for a restaurant, or a bar, even street food.. that would be fantastic. However like I mentioned, we have a dog so a restaurant has to be dog friendly. Speaking of which, what it's like for dog owners in Madrid? Is it generally pet friendly or is access prohibited to most public locations with a dog?

If you got a recommendations for a rent-a-car company that would also be very useful.

Thank you

Living near Plaza Mayor in Madrid?

Hey guys, I’m a student moving to Madrid in September. Most of the apartments I’ve found are near Plaza Mayor. Is it a safe and nice area for a girl to live in? If not, which other neighbourhoods would you recommend? :)

Visiting Madrid for 2 days over Christmas - any tips?

Hi there

My family and I will be stopping over in Madrid for 2 days (arrive 23 Dec) before going to Tenerife, and we'd love some local advice.

  • We are 2 parents in our 40s, and a 7-year-old.
  • We're South Africans, English-speaking, with almost no Spanish (hola, gracias... that's about it 😅)
  • First time visiting Spain for all of us
  • Budget: Low to mid-range - we aren't after luxury, just want to experience the city
  • Anything near a Metro station is a bonus

A few things we'd love help with:

  • Which area in Madrid should we look at staying in for the 2 nights? We're thinking central so we can walk to most things, but open to suggestions.
  • What are the must-sees for 2 days, especially around Christmas?
  • Any tips for English-speaking tourists navigating the city?
  • Any restaurant recommendations?

Thanks in advance! 🙏

Help with accomadtions

Good afternoon my name is Robert I will be visiting Madrid in October for 8 days with my mother sister and aunt. I was looking at air bnb originally but after doing more digging have found that it’s causing housing issues for residents. I would like to not be part of the problem so have been looking at hotels however the issue I’m running into as I don’t want us all to be together alone. Are there options I am not thinking about. Is there air bnbs that are good when I search them they have a Spain license but I found they also need to have a license with Madrid as well. Any help would be appreciated as I do not want to cause hardships for people that live there. If this post type is not allowed I apologize

Thank you!

Poor timing...

After a 10+ hour travel day we will arrive around 7 AM in MAD.

We can't check into our hotel until 3 PM....maybe 2 PM at the earliest.

Given we're going to be exhausted what do you suggest we do during this period? We'll leave our luggage with the hotel.
