May your week be as wonderful and joyful as the best sound in this whole podcast — the sound of Arthur's laughter in s5. I feel blessed after hearing it, even during relistening

John Doe Sketch

Just a bit of a rough sketch I did of John with a couple of my headcanons. Ran out of soace on the paper for all of them so I'll put a few others here.

-The safety pins pinning his cloak open are meant to symbolize a butterfly pinned to a board, as John's become his own butterfly through his metamorphosis towards becoming human.

-His heart isn't an organ the same way a human's would be. It's primary purpose is to make John feel emotions like a human would and the tendrils pierce parts of the heart to spread that emotion outward through his cloak.

-The outer layer of his cloak acts as human skin does, allowing him to feel sensation. But it also acts as his circulatory system, moving ichor through his body.

Binged the series over the last 2 months, had to draw something for my favorite season

Couldn't decide if I liked it better with or without the eyes

Confused about s2 ending

Ok so Arthur and John finally confront the king in yellow and John agrees to return to the king if he sends Arthur back to his world alive

Ok, deal

But then Arthur tries to kill himself with the dagger. I guess I’m just wondering why? I know they discussed it earlier, and atp Arthur doesn’t have much to live for anyway (no family or friends, is a wanted man back home) but what was he hoping to accomplish here? John still ends up back with the king and Arthur still gets sent back to earth with a healed neck

Who do you picture while listening

For Arthur I jump between Leon Kennedy and John Constantine tbh. Leon cuz apparently Arthur is good to go after being horribly mutilated or injured with just some bandages or whatever and Constantine just cuz he’s British I guess

DDL as Bill the Butcher for, you guessed it, the Butcher. The irony is not lost on me btw, and why is a man dressed in flamboyant 1860s garb and a top hat running around in 1930s NY, I can’t say. But cmon, the face and attitude just fits

Current WIP

I drew the king in procreate (low res for pixelation), currently translating it to a crochet tapestry pattern which will then be used for a sweater!

Relistening to season 3 with the context of the rest of the series is actually really funny

Idk about you guys but I did not trust John at all when they were finally reunited in s3. I figured either he’s up to something like maybe found a way to separate from Arthur at a great cost or his heart is still in the right place but he’s going about it all wrong. But obviously he’s been hiding something

And Arthur is so broken by this point that he’s on a suicide mission to kill this random guy he literally just met (obviously there’s a whole bunch of other shit going on with him, but let’s just do the surface level take here) and John just shows up to all this without any context

While relistening , I realized that Arthur had been separated from John and dealing with yellow for all of like, two nights? 48 hours more or less

Later we find out that John has been fighting with the king this whole time only to be casted out to the dark world again. Idk how much time passed for him, we know time moves differently between the dreamlands, dark world and the real world, but I imagine some decades or centuries?

The king isn’t going to give up on John so easily, not after the lengths he’s been through to get that missing piece back, and how long does it take to kill tens of thousands of Arthurs anyway? So I think it’s fair to say that John has been away for quite awhile

So imagine going through all that, fighting back with everything you got, losing anyway, hitting rock bottom and finally getting reunited with your friend only to come back to getting thrown down another fucking hole in a cave again

Idk it’s just hilarious

Can anybody tell me...

I've been listening to the podcast while gaming and haven't fully absorbed everything that's happened. I was somewhere around episode 30 and decided to start over before continuing. I swear I remembered, at some point, somebody offers John to wipe Arthur's memory but it's a trick, John accepts and then the person who offered it is basically like "never mind idiot" and Arthur gets really angry. Now I cannot find any evidence of this happening. Can someone tell me which episode this happens in/maybe a direct quote or did I just imagine it?

I am midway through Part 47 “The Hand” and I have to say-

>!As much as I have loved many characters, Yorik has been such a fun and intriguing character! No clue how long they are going to be around but they are great.!<

>!Yorik- “There are no wrong answers in brainstorming.” John- “Unless you are adding to the conversation shut up!”!<
