I mostly play online battle mode, and I find it really difficult to keep up with many Japanese players , and even some Swedish players.

Sometimes they even stop and hop in front of me or behind me , like they're teasing me :(

Hey everyone, I was wandering for some tips and advice on Mario Kart 8. When I got my switch 2 I got MK World with it, and enjoyed it for what it was, especially knockout tour. I saw MK8 was on sale and thought I would buy it as it’s got such good reviews and more courses etc.

I have just had a go on it, and I was struggling to win a race. Granted it’s probably my arrogance I went to 200cc, I thought because I could do 100/150 on MKW I would be fine. But it felt so different. I don’t want to say sluggish or less responsive but just different. In MKW I would drift quite a lot but I struggled on 8 to do that. Maybe it’s because the courses are less open? I also used Link, maybe he isn’t a good character to use? I don’t know.

Are there any tips/techniques for me to learn to make it easier?

Also on a side note are there characters etc to unlock or is it all unlocked?

So I was looking at the stats for Yoshi and Tanooki Mario and they are basically the same (I used the MK8 builder site for reference). Why is Yoshi meta but Tanooki is not? Is there something I am missing?

streetle has more water speed which while is not used by many tracks is better than weight which does nothing/almost nothing

Is it possible to play with the switch n64 controller instead of a pro controller, I know it'd be more difficult with the three points but are all the buttons usable that you need to play with ?

So i want to complete all the Grand Prix cups with three stars each. 200cc is already done and 150cc and Mirror aren't problems. But for 100cc and 50cc I'm a bit squeamish since they're obviously the slower cups, so what's the absolute fastest character and vehicle (preferably a bike) combo so it's (somewhat) better in terms of speed? My standard option that I never fail to use is Daisy, Sport Bike, Roller, and Paraglider, but when it comes to the slower ccs I have a feeling I need to be faster. If the speed doesn't really matter then I'll continue to use my default.
