My Neighborhood series: Revival

In January of 2021, I made a 10 level series called Neighborhood. It all had the same premise of going inside the houses via the chimney(pipe). You get the red coins found throughout the neighborhood and exit. The house interior always took place in a subarea, it's kind of a place between worlds.

The first 3 Neighborhood levels use the Ground theme, except the 3rd was at night. The 4th was the snow edition, 5th was sky, 6 was desert, 7 was cave, 8 was airship, 9 was Night Snow, and 10 was Night Desert. Replaying them I definitly improved but also deproved in some areas. Like Neighborhood 1 is the only level in the series so far to include Bee Hives in the trees. The desert levels have acacia trees instead of the regular oak trees. The lakes in the snow levels were frozen and so on.

After 5 years, I finally got the urge to continue this as well as SMM2 in general since the last time I uploaded was 2022. I had a very unique idea for this next batch of Neighborhood levels. Neighborhood 11 (called Neighborhood: Interior Universe) puts a spin on the formula. Instead of unlocking the end of the level after getting all red coins, you unlock the 2 towers which gives you access to a fire clown car to the sub area. This means you fly around the empty space of house interiors ad break into them. So if a house has no chimney to enter from, you can break in via fire clown car in the subarea. It's clear conditioned so you have to get most of the coins that the rest are found in the interior universe. It's better explained if you play it yourself.

I also made the only water neighborhood level. I called it FLUDD'ed cuz Mario Sunshine. It's the shortest Neighborhood level cuz nobody wants to spend that much time in the water. The subarea is night underwater which is a unique element. You can't explore the interior universe in this level cuz it'd be pretty boring. The next one should hopefully expand on what the 11th entry did.

In conclusion the next series of Neighborhood levels will be a refreshing spin on the formula. Even without the whole interior universe exploration, the main world neighborhood is drastically improved. Added sound effects, a tv antenna that plays the zappy SFX. Better water I think. Clear condition makes beating the level less unrealistic (cuz why would u need a key to exit a public neighborhood). Neighborhood 13 (haven't decided a name yet), will be another windy desert stage. Desert means the unique palm trees are back. And also the interior universe will now be vertical. That's all I'll spoil for now.

Shell Swamp; #TeamJamp

Shell Swamp is my favorite from my courses, and a cult classic among many creators (I think) I highly recommend it if you’re not very experienced with extreme tech. (I’m not either lol) There are 3 simple sections to this course, progressively decreasing in difficulty. I really hope you enjoy this. It took quite a while to make! Here’s a demo of the first part of the level.

The problem is the standard levels; there are so many course parts, and I gotta choose one or two course parts as the main mechanics of the level. That’s where I’m stuck right now.

[Like Nintendo should’ve added the new stuff in Ver 3.0.0 into Yamamura’s Dojo or something to help players with super worlds.]

For the love of god if anybody got any tips or advice for the 8 world themes and what level mechanics are in them, comment them below. I desperately need them.

Hey I did a level. I grew up in the 90s, Smb was part of my childhood and I wanted 1-1 to be more spicy so I did it. At first I didnt think it was that challenging but yeah you have to die alot I guess lol. Lately I added a checkpoint so its more doable now, but still not free 😇

What levels should I remake in MM2?

I want to get better at building in Mario Maker 2, so I would love to hear your suggestions what levels/dungeons/Tracks from the following games I should remake!

Idea for Super Mario Maker 3

Hey,

At the end of July it will be my birthday and I want a birthday game. If you can, create super mario maker 3, but not a normal mario maker 3. A mario maker that has 3d games! It is mandatory to have super mario 64 as an option and the suggestions is super mario 3d land, because 3d world is already in mario maker 2, super mario galaxy, super mario sunshine and super mario bros wonder. You don't need to rush to finish in July of this year, go in your time and don't deactivate the online of maker 2 because it has to have a way to create 2d and 3d levels when you want. If you are going to release another mario maker in the future, why not just update mario maker 2 instead of erasing millions of levels to create a new game almost the same?

Encourage a 5 year-old builder!

My son just turned 5 years, and he is Mario obsessed. He can tell you about Mario games from the NES/SNES right through to now, and we've played lots of them together.

Currently he is really into Mario Maker, which is the main part of the Mario universe I don't know anything about and haven't played myself.

He built these courses himself, and he would love to get more plays/likes/comments. If you have any tips on how he can improve or things to try next, post them here because I'm out of my depth...

Riding a Spiny Shell

I'm new to Kaizo and I'm having a tough time riding a spiny shell that has been propelled by a spring. Any jump i try leaves me far behind the shell. I can't seem to make it back onto the shell. What am I missing?
