Black cat found near Milne Dam Conservation Park!

Hello everyone.

My girlfriend and I were going for a walk on May 20th at the Milne Dam Conservation Park around 7pm, when we saw a black cat near the entrance/forest area. We checked if he had a collar, but we didn't find any.

When we finished our lap around the park, we noticed he was still near the forest area roaming around, meowing. It was getting late around 8pm, and we heard about potential coyotes attacking cats, so we got worried and decided to take him to the vet asap to check for microchips and to contact the owner.

When we got there that night, the vet informed us that he was indeed microchipped. We contacted a bunch of microchip companies, and it turned out that the chip was never registered.

We are also cat owners, so we have him in a separate room with plenty of food, water and his own litter box. If you have any information, that would be great!

Thank you!

Didn’t change all that much huh

Posting a near miss for awareness
Adding a red light didn’t change much of that stop sign behaviour

Rogers internet issues ?

My internet has been going down often the last few weeks just wondering if anyone has been experiencing the same.

Fire rainbow spotted from Wismer Park

Fire rainbow spotted from Wismer Park. First time ever seeing or noticing one. I usually don't walk near sundown.

Kennedy and Denison road repaving

Maybe my memory is failing me, but does this intersection get repaved every other year or what? 😂

I drive through here all the time and honestly don’t remember there being any major potholes or rough spots. Yet these roads are undergoing yet another repaving.

Does anyone else think this? Or have insights?

Pickleball Newbies

Hey :)! Wondering if anyone’s interested in playing pickleball together? Ideally newbie beginners like ourselves.

My partner and I just started playing recently (mid 30s). Looking to find other friendly folks to play doubles with a bit more regularly :).

Any cheap haircut?

My go to place has recently raised the price to $20 for men cut. (It was $15) Wondering if there are any places still can do under $20?

Second coyote attack in Austin Drive park

PSA: Please be careful and avoid this area if you have dogs/small children!!

I was walking my dog today along the park trail by Austin Drive and Couperwaithe Cres (location photo in comments) when a coyote lunged from the bushes and attacked him. My dog was leashed and I pulled him away asap/screamed which scared the coyote off. Thankfully my dog is okay and I did not have my baby with me but this happened in broad daylight (3pm) and it was very scary 😱 I saw afterwards that this happened to another redditor ~2 weeks ago

When I called animal services, they told me my case is the third dog attack that’s been reported for the same area over the last few weeks. There’s likely a den there but they haven’t been able to find it. He said things can only be “escalated” further by the city if multiple offences are reported

So please avoid this area if you have dogs/small children or if god forbid something similar has happened to you, please report to animal services (905-415-7531) so they can continue to build their case

Lifelabs experience - hwy 7 & McCowan - avoid if you can

Avoid this location if you are sensitive to heat or unwell or fasting. First, I want to apologize to patients who had to wait an additional 15 minutes because of me.

I went to this location at 7am and had to wait about a hour to be seen. The issue was that this office has no AC so the room was quite hot. The people working here have said that the AC has never worked and that it is always this temperature. When I was seen, the phlebotomist struggled to get a vein and kept digging into one without attempting another. I started to get dizzy and warned her that I thought I was going to pass out. She ignored me and I fainted. I have never fainted before.

When I came to, they didn't seem to know how to handle me. She asked if I was ok and to sit still (which I did because I was barely conscious) I had to ask for water repeatedly, and had to beg for a garbage can because I was about to be sick. Each worker came by to ask if I was alright but told me to sit still for a bit and finally gave me ice for my neck. Once I was able to walk I had my partner pick me up.

Given this experience they managed only one vial which isn't enough for what my doctor ordered and I'll have to do it again. This is not the first time I've fasted before a blood test but this is the first time I've had this experience. I cannot imagine that a hot office is safe for anyone let alone the specimens they collect. If you come to this location make sure you are incredibly hydrated or have water with you.

PSA -- Listen up drivers

It's baby Canada goose season and they are all over the place around HWY 7 + Woodbine area up to Beaver Creek. They cross the street haphazardly, and although this shouldn't need to be mentioned -- they are geese and therefore don't understand traffic laws and conventions (most of you don't either) -- keep a close eye out because they're reckless.

One of you mutts already ran one over (RIP goose). If ever there was a time to drive 15-20km/h under the limit -- as so many of you do anyways -- this would be an agreeable time AND place.

And the goose > your phone.

What is going on on Rodick and 16th?

There seems to be a lot construction happening recently with a bunch of orange tubing laying around. Anyone know what they are doing?
