Oil filters and enamel surface modulation on the Siberian Penguin

I shifted the overall tone of the model to a warmer value. This creates a nicer contrast between the lighter gray surface and the green camouflage. The hull red underneath the paintjob brings it all together in a subtle way.

How to fix cockpit alignment?

Hi all,

I’m working on a mk 44 build and want the canopy fully closed. I’m running into an issue where the sides of the front cockpit section don’t align perfectly with the rear section. When the canopy is closed, the left and right sides protrude slightly, creating a noticeable step between the front and back halves.

For those who have built closed-canopy Ma.K kits before:

  • Is this a known issue with these kits?
  • What’s the preferred way to create a smooth transition between the front and rear cockpit sections?
  • Should I try gently heating and bending the plastic so the parts align better, or is there a better approach?

I’d appreciate any advice of how you’ve handled this transition. Thanks

More progress on the Siberian Penguin

The second picture is my rough concept of the suit. The design suffered modifications trought the process.

1:20 S.A.F.S. RACCOON

This was a straightforward build without any real modifications, painted in a classic Ma.K. paint scheme. Pilot is hand sculpted. I usually do a lot more modding and scratch building stuff, so it was nice to have a little break.

More Gustav WIP pics

I did a few thigs and one of my most interesting discoveries was that the sprues have pretty much the same diameter as the Panzerfaust's shaft thus I tinkered around a bit and came up with a halberd looking thing which then lead to building some kind of ceremonial attrire which I'd call the "Burgwächter" (roughly translated as "castle guard"). You could compare it to the current day's swiss guard in it's roles.

Tips moving forward?

Preface: this is my first MaK kit and my first ever model I’ve painted. Zero experience with WH or painting gunpla or anything of the sort.

So I did the basic build for this guy a while back. Rambunctious kitten, poor health, and work kept me from doing much work beyond basic painting with Mr surface 1000 (now wishing I had gone with a grittier base) and a layer of Vallejo dull grey. I let him sit for a while and just started fleshing out a basic army camo pattern. Second pic is just an experiment with dry brushing that I’ll most likely do a wash over but may use as the basis for other armor segments if I like how it turns out. Everything so far has been hand painted with Vallejo acrylics and AK markers, and a little bit of salt chipping. Am I on the right track folks? Really enjoying it so far, just worried I may box myself in at some point

Question? anti gravity hows it work?

So you have a vehicle with antigravity units on it. How do they work, are they directing a force down like a rocket engine would, or creating an internal buoyancy like a helium balloon, or a all encompassing field a bubble of anti gravity the ship is inside.

Ma.k law says that early anti gravity fields were deadly to humans, but then reverse engineered and refined so not deadly.

So the vehicle has a oil leak, it runs down the ship and drips off the bottom because of gravity, but all encompassing field it would run up the ship and drip off the top, directional force or buoyancy it would run down and drip off the bottom. Or would the new safe reverse engineered anti gravity be safe because its minimize field leakage, so the oil would run down and maybe if it got close to the anti gravity unit only then would it go in an unexpected direction?
