Anyone who’s running an FRT in Mat 9 , is it worth it?
Thinking about buying the trip sled / partisan combo for my blowback mat 9k
Thinking about buying the trip sled / partisan combo for my blowback mat 9k
In case anyone was looking, you can get them here while they last. I'm sure in stock means fast shipping dates if you've been scared off by that.
It happens occasionally when firing it won’t feed the next round, I wouldn’t consider it a FTF because it only won’t feed because it’s just not enough power to push the round in when cycling. If I were to manually rack it slowly the bolt gets caught up in the area in the picture, I tried cleaning it good I usually do after every range trip only have around 900 rounds total. Had this happened to anyone else?
I am researching various moderately-priced delayed blowback PCC/PDW options. The Mat-9k is on my short list, but I’ve seen some rumbling about reliability issues, including on this subreddit. My question is whether these reliability issues are a thing if you are using the Matador Arms lower, or is this mostly a problem if you get a third party lower?
Also, is anyone using the new hydraulic buffer yet? If so, is it still reliable? Whatever platform I end up going with will be suppressed and shooting subsonic ammo (and I want it reliable with JHP/FN ammo) with a 3-position super safety).
After waiting nearly 4 months to receive my matador mat 9k, then another 2 months for my form 1, I’m impressed. Dressed her up a bit, ad ons are km3 handguard, hb industries locking charging block (I like the stock charging handle so I stuck with that), maxim defense cqb 1913 stock, geisselle SD3G trigger, stream light TLR RM2, silencer co omega9k, and the swampfox raider. This thing eats, roughly 1000 rounds this weekend, no hiccups! And if you’re considering the SD3G, DO IT. With the right training you can bump fire the hell out of this thing, no frt needed with the geiselle. But all fun and games aside, this thing is fast and smooth. Very happy with this and is my new favorite shooter. Way to go Matador! If you’re reading reviews about the wait times for shipping, believe me when I say it’s worth the wait. Dave has been transparent, attentive, and straight forward the whole process. Which is more I can say about any other president of a company. Tell me any other manufacturer who will keep in contact with you through texts, emails and phone calls personally. That speaks volume to me. Buy one and you won’t regret it.
Got my mat9 form1 back finally and just installed this l2 prints super safety on the ap5 😮💨
Attached are photos of my Mat9k build (the last photo is unedited)
My MAT-9K / Matador 9 Colt build is almost finished, but I’m trying to resolve a bolt catch / bolt release issue before I take it out to shoot.
Important Context: I just had the upper receiver Cerekoted
The issue is that the bolt catch seems to engage correctly, but it does not release/reset reliably. When I pull the charging handle back and use the bolt hold-open/release control, the bolt catches like it should. But when I press the top of the bolt release/catch to drop it, the bolt does not go forward like it should.
I’ve been working the charging handle back and forth to try to loosen things up, and that has helped quite a bit. I’ve also cleaned everything with CLP and oiled it. It feels noticeably better than it did at first, but the bolt still does not reliably release when I press the bolt catch/release.
Build details:
• Upper: Matador Arms MAT-9K
• Lower: Matador 9 Colt-pattern lower
• Magazine: Metalform 9mm 32-round SMG mag
• Brace: A3 Tactical modular telescopic brace
• Brace attachment: Gear Head Works Tailhook
• Grip: MDT Pistol Grip Elite
• Trigger: Geissele SSA-E currently installed may change to SSA
• Optic: Holosun 510c
• Suppressor: Dead Air Wolfman
Since only the upper was Cerakoted, I’m wondering if the added coating thickness on the upper is causing some kind of interference between the upper, bolt/BCG, and bolt catch. It seems like the bolt catch is holding the bolt open properly, but then either the catch is not dropping cleanly or the bolt is binding against it under pressure.
I don’t want to start filing or sanding blindly. I’d rather diagnose the actual contact point first and fix it correctly.
Has anyone run into something similar with a with a freshly Cerakoted upper causing bolt catch interference? Any advice on what to try first would be appreciated.
So I have now taken my radial delayed MAT9K to the range and it won't go back into battery after the first round. It only works on the first shot and its the same whether I use my AR9 Glock lower or AR15 Endomag lower. But when I clear it and start again only the first shot works and you can see the breach slightly open not fully back to battery? I have used all my different mags KCI, SGM, Magpul subsonic, supersonic, round nose, flatnose....three varieties of ammo Pistol Pete reloads, blazer 124, Remington flatnose. Both lowers and mags worked with my direct blowback MAT9K that broke. I will say that the spring seems way softer, easier to rack than my old blowback. Any suggestions
Partisan Disruptor in hand and ready for the improved Trip Sled when it’s completed.
Ordered a Mat9K upper early April after contacting Matador arms the new updated delivery estimate is looking like September. They keep pushing it everytime I call. I understand things happen. But it’s a bit ridiculous to say 6-8 weeks do delivery and it taking 6 months.
I really love this thing. Waiting in a couple parts to come in but all in all decent. Gonna run it under mods when I get back in town
Got a mat 9 upper instead of just buying a complete Panzer ARP9 for about the same price. I have an FM9 which runs amazingly but I wanted to give this roller delay business a try and mat9 fell "nicely" into budget. I wish it shot half as good as it looks. FTE, won't lock open on last round, won't go into battery after releasing the bolt sometimes. Bolt seems a little sluggish in general. This has been my experience in a nut shell.
Ps. Yes I've tried a different mag
I put about 200 rounds through it today, some in FRT mode and also regular semi. When I got home and stripped the upper to clean it, I noticed that a small piece had broken off the back plate where the trip sled slides. Also the front of the trip sled where it rides on the bolt got bent downward. Anyone experience similar issues?
Now if HB industries would get the folding charging handle in stock I’ll pretty much be done.
I know lots of people are wondering about lead times just so people know I ordered Feb 19 Order 8331. an received it today from my FFL.
As I’m going through my build I just wanted to let people know that I had a partisan disruptor that was supposed to work an for some reason I couldn’t get it to work. It would not engage to set the trigger. No matter the settings I was not able to get trigger to pull at all, total function failure.
It’s ok for me though because I can put it in another gun. I also had a push button super safety laying here too so I was able to throw it in my mp5 lower an it’s passing the function test a that’s with no rearward limiter. Lots of people were wondering about the super safety. .
I’m going to the range very soon an will post an update on how it runs shortly. A will update with pics of final build later in week.
Update: Super safety failed an broke rear hook of trip sled. I should have put something in to limit its rearward travel.
I have a MAT-9k blowback on a NFA Glock mag lower. I’d been having FTFeed/FTFire issues. I rounded off and followed the instructions on aligning the ejector. I ordered the EZTS system and the FRT trip sled because I eventually wanted to run it “wide open.” I placed my order on May 5th & it hasn’t shipped. Should I cancel the order, with all the issues I’m seeing about the trip sled? If it barely shoots now, I don’t wanna blow my sh*t up.
*edit* I realize the magwell photo is kinda 💩
First 10 round are subs. The last few are 115 and In fun mode
