Hello Mauga mains,

I'm new to the running and stomping enemies. Recently decided to try Mauga and I'm having an absolute blast. There's something about being unstoppable and squashing squishies, it's a feeling like no other.

I'm still learning the character and when it comes to perk, I see all Mauga take Pyromaniac and Firewalker. And OWPerks seems to confirm this trend.

If I do understand why Firewalker is so good and just baseline value in most fight, I'm still struggling to see why so many people enjoy Pyromaniac. I just love running as soon as possible and as most often as possible and with Kinetic Bandolier, I simply never reload. I feel a lot more clunky when I don't have this perk.

Isn't Firewalker just doing the burn anyway so you don't get the overhealth? So it's like a bit of a nonbo?

What am I not seeing or understanding yet with the character?

I've started getting into watching owcs recently and I noticed that almost every time mauga is played they pick combat fuel over firewalker - is there a reason for this? I always thought firewalker was significantly better but there must be a reason if its not being picked

Hi all just wanted to ask a quick question!

Any console Mauga players, do you switch the key binds for primary and secondary fire? So the igniting gun is on right trigger and the one that crits burning enemies on left trigger?

After trying it yesterday new cardiac feels super weird. You get to NoU anyone mid fight after they manage to nearly burst down your HP but you are really noticing the loss of damage reduction. Its more universally applicable as it relies on reversing the dmg you took. Helps sustain against unfavorable matchups for current cardiac like shield tanks or dmg reduction from the Horse.

Pros really are in my experience

- When used correctly you get effectively nearly 1500 HP to wrap up a fight which is alot on top of what your supports can heal.

- no more sigma grasp/stun/shields and other bullshit all making you inable to heal yourself

- running spd buff helps counter his penalty due to dualfirering

- harder to fall into the just shoot the enemy tank trap to maximize healing efficiency

Cons

- the stupider your supports are the more likely you are to still die even with his on demand jumbo healthpack because you lose the 40% DR

Overall honestly would take it over current cardiac.

You still get punished for smooth brained healers just as much as right now but it takes soo many balancing problems away of current cardiac i cant even be mad at the slight downsides this version has.
