Gutting Food for Thought is So Stupid

I used to get lunch at McD's every day. £2.99 for a big Mac and chips was a reasonable price. The actual patties are paper thin, so there was definitely good margins on it regardless.

The people that used this system are obviously frugal, and weren't willing to pay full price. I used to see bus drivers from the station next door go in every day with the 2.99 voucher too.

Now I go to the local cafe. Might as well, cheaper and better food. Hope big Ronny is proud of this genius change, now you'll get nothing from me instead of £15 a week for about £2 worth of ingredients.

Please stop supporting this relentless greed. McDonalds is the enemy of the working class now (not dramatic at all tyvm).

EDIT: I'm turning off notifications for this thread, too many weirdos desperate to talk down to me about my diet.

Question for employees (nose jewellery)

I know officially they should be removed. But I read some stores are more relaxed unless senior staff come in.

How many managers allow clear retainers or blue plasters over? I have an interview with two new nose studs that will for sure close up if removed.

I am in the west midlands.

Oh, this Big Mac sause is everything

it actually taste better than the one in the burger. There’s an extra pickle taste to it. Why can’t they just bottle this stuff up and sell it 😭

double cheeseburger placement?

why is the cheese placement never consistent?

sometimes i receive - bun, cheese, burger, cheese, burger, bottom bun. other times i receive - bun, cheese, burger, burger, cheese, bottom bun.

which is correct and which do you prefer?

Probationary Period

Hi, I’ve been working for two weeks now. I’ve been unwell all night (throwing up etc), so I called in sick for my shift. Because I am on probation, does that mean I am likely to be fired for this? I let them know 6 hours in advance and have been working fine so far.

Iced Caramel Frappe gave me a throat infection.

My usual order is a Large Fillet O Fish meal with Fries and a Diet coke. A week ago, I wanted to treat myself to something nice, so instead of the diet coke I picked the iced caramel frappe, thinking it would be delicious, since it looked amazing. Everything for my order was ready except the drink. I had to wait an extra 20 minutes just to receive the thing and when I did, it gave me a throat infection. Now I know what you are thinking. This can be a coincidence and maybe it is, but the timing was insanely suspicious. Normally when I drink insanely cold drinks, my throat is sore for the next day or so, you know... Typical coughs etc. but after a week of it not recovering, I went in the mirror to find white spots all over my throat. I booked an appointment, and yep, a throat infection. Now I wouldn't have thought anything of it, until the doctor specifically mentioned it was something i consumed, and the first thing I thought of was the frappe I had a week earlier. It seems as though the infection wasn't caused by the drink being cold, but that the drink was contaminated with soemthing. I apologise if I have ranted a bit, but I just wanted to get my story across

Why is there promotion for FiFa World Cup Meal on the paper bag packaging?

There is promo for the world cup meal on the paper bags and delivery bags but there is no meal or anything to do with the world cup being sold at the moment. Im pretty sure I have seen one in USA and other countries but I am wondering if anyone knows if there is one coming?

One of three McDonald's left

One of three McDonald's left in the UK to not have the app 😂

Was completely baffled when I couldn't use my employee discounts on the app and had to do it the old way

Great food tho 👍

Do people genuinely prefer Big Tasty or Big Arch over the old Quarter Pounder Deluxe?

I used to really like the Qtr Deluxe. It was the closest thing McDonald’s did to the Whopper, and it was great having fresh ingredients in the burger.

I was gutted when it stopped being a main menu option, but enjoyed it as a promo when they did monopoly etc, and even without promo you used to be spec up a normal quarter by adding lettuce, tomato and mayo (although not a true deluxe as there was too much cheese and customisation did not allow to go down to one slice) but now you can’t even do that modification so you simply cannot get a deluxe anymore, despite all the right ingredients being in the kitchen.

I get that having tomato and lettuce in means timing is more of an issue, balancing hot and cold, but the challenge of timing should be improved by the Argos-for-burgers format they do now, as they can prestage the meat and build to order, rather than holding a bunch of made up burgers in the production shelf.

I am open to trying new sauces but I think they’re overthinking it with the tasty/arch sauces, trying to create the next Big Mac sauce, but honestly the tasty/arch sauces are divisive, I don’t like them and it’s hard to beat the original ketchup/mayo/mustard combo of the deluxe.

Am I completely alone here? I’d swap all these promo burgers for the deluxe if I could.

How long has the big tasty been back out and when is it going again?

Went today and saw it was there and was so excited as I was gutted when it went. And now I'm realising it's possibly been back for like a month even? So I want to know how long I have before it's gone again 😭

Is there a reason we can't have root beer anymore?

Probably showing my age a bit here but McD's just hasn't been the same since. It disappeared long before that Super-size me doc, and them banning XL and all the sugar tax stuf, so it can't be that. And I've tried those american ones but honestly they're all like drinking the melted ice from the bottom of the cup. Since Carter's disappeared in lockdown, which was my exact memory of McD's root beer, it's just not been the same.
