We've gotten plenty of messages asking about joining our start up. So let us answer them:

How many people are there right now? Our current, soon-to-be studio consists of 20 people as a mix of leads, writers, artists, VAs, designers, and other creatives. And we continue to expand!

What sort of creatives are you looking for? We currently welcome them all. Although the core team is set, we're still testing and recruiting in most departments. We also have an open call for sapphic writers and male voice actors if you happen to be one!

Do you offer paid jobs? At the moment, everyone's a volunteer— it is entirely our intention for the team to transition into paid jobs as soon as possible. Meanwhile, we offer full access to all our Patreon content (soon to launch!) at the highest tier, and free promotion: Your work, name, and individual creator account (if you have one) can be featured in all our platforms.

Do I need to sign an NDA? Never. We want to champion your art, not obscure it. Our mission is that everyone who joins will be able to grow their own individual fanbase. Think of us as an art hub.

Do I need to pay some sort of fee? Absolutely not. We require zero funding from our collaborators. Your work is more than enough!

How do I join? Just DM us letting us know which area you'd like to join, whether you have experience or not (doesn't matter if you don't), and an email we may contact you at.

Hello, guys.

It has come to our attention that there's a rumor saying that we are attempting to profit from MeChat's closure, which we completely understand. Allow us to clarify confusions and doubts as best we can:

1. We are not MeChat staff, developers, or main team behind it. Nor do we claim to be.
2. The group started with only three MeChat ex-writers, just that. Which is why we posted a very short list of characters. Then, other writers reached out to us, and joined our new indie project and so we updated that list. From then on, others that had collaborated with MeChat reached out as well, and we welcomed them so our group grew. Just like we welcomed brand new talent.
3. We are putting together everything as we go, which is why it might across messy. We're not a put-together corporation—we're a brand new indie project, and we will make mistakes, like posting and re-posting which seems to have triggered spam filters.
4. We are not, nor will be asking money for funding or anything of the sort. We are planning on opening up a Patreon down the road for those of you who truly want to continue seeing our work as we move into a brand new, non-Mechat affiliated indie project. This will not be soon, as we need to put together a lot of content that justifies that sort of support. By then, you can judge whether you wish to join us or not.
5. The reason we are not sharing the names is because some of the new writers that joined asked to remain anonymous as per the NDA, and others have other legal reasons not to disclose them. However, our project will not have NDAs, as we are hoping to give all writers, actors, and artists a brand new platform where they can showcase their work and grow their very own fanbase. It is entirely their choice.

We do not judge those of you who were simply trying to be protective of the MeChat community, and our DMs are open for any doubts that you may have.

That Much Sweeter (Ongoing) - Chapter 26 - [Archive of Our Own]

Posting the full author's note this time, for obvious reasons:

A few days ago, the news came that MeChat is going to shut down. The final set of updates will be posted soon, and then… that’s it. We don’t know much more than that: how long the servers will stay up, how long the game will remain playable… we just don’t know. I understand there’s an effort to preserve as much as possible, and to keep the servers going at least for a while, but nothing is guaranteed, and certainly nothing is forever.

Damian is not on the final update schedule, which means his story will never get an official ending. It’s been hinted that we might learn something about the endings of some characters, but nothing is certain yet.

Yeah. It sucks. It really, really, really sucks.

But it does not change my plans for this fanfic.

I have a rough outline (which keeps morphing and expanding, as I suppose such things are wont to do) for at least 2 more arcs/acts. At least 13 more chapters, probably, in the arc that begins with this chapter, which is partly why it took me so long.

I’m not going anywhere. Damian may never get the ending his creators envisioned, but he will get AN ending. And if you’ve come this far with me, I hope you’ll trust me to do it at least partial justice. 🩷

I have MeChat to thank for creating a character and story so compelling that I was inspired to try writing again after so long. This is literally the first time it’s “worked”, by which I mean I’m still at it instead of stalling right out of the gate yet again. I tried to match the game's style at first, but soon started to find more of my own voice, I guess. And nearly a year later, here I am, still going. Thank you, MeChat. 🩷🩷🩷
