hello everyone!

I just graduated from bs pharmacy this year and is planning to take the boards. I came across medical coding and i’m very interested in the field. I think that this may help me in the long run not only for experience in the industry but for maybe fun na rin po i guess hahah. (I plan to gain experience in every field I know po sana and buttt I’m still finalizing my desicion if i would pursue med or just go abroad.)

May tips ba po kayo to start? I heard about applying to BPO companies that specialize or have a connection to healthcare and having a bond with them pero are there still more opportunities to start?

Nakita ko rin po kase mga ibang review centers ang bayad po don ay 20-25k and I really dont have the money to pay. I also heard that US companies would prefer coders with experience, meaning that if a BPO company would hire you and train you to be one, aytomatic ba po non magkakaroon na ng experience?

And usually ano po ang starting salary if ever magkaroon po ng bond between the employee and the company if said company will be training them to become a coder?

Hi everyone, I work in the IT industry and if you don't mind I'd like to ask this forum some questions about the software and solutions being used by coders, for research purposes.

1. Do you use software to actually do the conversion to codes? Or do you just use mainly books, PDFs or other references?

2. For medical coders employed by major BPOs or enterprises, do they provide you with software to do your work and what do they do essentially? (I.e. capture the coded output, support in conversion, etc.)

3. For coders who are direct hires or freelance, what software do you use?

4. What are your thoughts on the use of AI to support the coding work? How is AI being seen in your industry segment?

Meron din ba dito nag apply for COTIVITI MCA? Naka receive na ba kayo nang official contract or job offer after final interview? August 24, 2026 na kasi yong start at wala parin akong email na narereceive.

Nag send ako ng application ko way back july pa and didnt receive any response from them kahit naka ilang ff na ako and now out of nowhere nag response sila for initial assessment. Ang dilemma ko is if makakahabol pa kaya ako sa sept batch or baka next batch na ako ma punta sayang din kase oras and effort if ipaprocess ko to then igoghost na naman ako huli. What's your thoughts guys?

May company po ba na nag a-accept as MCA scholars if may CCS/CPC-A certification ka na?

Nagbabalak po kasi ako mag enroll sa HIMTI since Bio graduate ako and hindi tumatanggap ng Bio and Psych for MCA scholars. Since mahirap mag apply if direct hire kahit may CCS/CPC-A certification na, balak ko sana mag MCA scholar after taking the certification. Pwede kaya yun?

Sana may nag warning man lang sakin na ganto pala ka-OA micromanagement sa company na to🥲 sobrang aapektuhan na mental health ko puro nalang quota ang mahalaga haha. As a baguhan grabe yung pressure, don’t get me wrong but I’m grateful naman sa opportunity na binigay nila. Thinking of resigning na kahit di pa tapos bond since hindi worth it kung mental health ko na napupuruhan. Grabe yung stress and hassle na naranasan ko with Sir G medical coding. Now asking for a refund kahit partial lang ako na mag a apply sa sarili ko for the exam bu they’re so unresponsive!
