Briefs in the gym locker room

I’ve always preferred briefs over boxers/boxers briefs. Never really liked how boxers feel. A few months ago I started going to the gym regularly and I bought some boxers specifically to wear for workouts and changing in the locker room.

The thing is my gym has a lot of guys in my age range (15-18) and pretty much all of them (maybe 90%) wear boxers. I’ve only seen one other guy my age in briefs the entire time I’ve been going the rest are older men (30+). Even though I don’t really care if people see me in general, I feel strangely self-conscious and embarrassed about ppl my age seeing me in briefs. It just feels… off especially if they are in boxers.

I’ve gone a couple of times briefs (when I forgot to change beforehand) and nothing really happened the locker room was almost empty. But the anxiety still keeps me from doing it consistently. At the same time I’d rather just wear what I’m comfortable in all the time instead of switching just for the locker room.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Should I just start going in briefs and stop overthinking it? I know logically nobody is probably going to say anything, but the feeling is still there.

Would appreciate any honest advice.

Thx

Edit: boxers/boxers briefs i thought if I write boxers it covers both categories. Mb if it created confusion

DRT

Was suckered into this brand from social media advertising.

Great range of styles for me, with a few tangas/sport briefs and a decent range of nice subtle colours. All with decent width waistbands which is a must for me.

I went with some red mesh briefs, some tan ribbed tangas and a green tanga. Fit is great, material and finish feel good, and they look great on me.

Price wasn't too bad - 3 for £45 with free delivery - and they arrived within four days of ordering.

I'm really impressed, and although sad to have moved on some of my beloved Kiniki tangas, they feel like an upgrade for sure.

I'd say if you find Box too out there in some of their styling and colour ranges, this is a great option for you.

Thoughts on ultra-breathable mesh underwear like this? Does anyone actually prefer them for daily wear or just working out?

Hey guys,

First time posting here! I’ve been researching different underwear fabrics recently and came across this type of ultra-breathable, full-mesh material (grabbing a pair like this green one in the photo to check out the stretch and airflow).

I'm really curious about everyone's real-world experience with mesh underwear:

  1. Daily Wear vs. Gym: Do you find full mesh comfortable enough for a whole day at the office, or do you strictly keep them for sports/workouts to prevent chafing?
  2. Support & Pouch: With this kind of high-stretch material, does the pouch actually keep everything well-supported throughout the day, or does it lose shape?
  3. Skin Sensitivity: Does the mesh texture ever feel scratchy, or is the ventilation totally worth it?

Would love to hear your thoughts, brand experiences, or any pros and cons I should look out for before diving in! Thanks man!

Undies for physical labor

I’m in desperate need of new underwear and have no clue where to look. I started wearing compression shorts because of sports in school and have worn basically nothing else since then, but for whatever reason they just don’t seem to work for me anymore.

I’m extremely prone to getting eczema on the boys as soon as it gets a bit hot out, especially if they don’t have really good support. If there is any skin-skin contact I immediately have a flareup, but also a lot of underwear that provides support doesn’t have enough room for me. And if they dont wick sweat very well I also have issues.

A 3-5 inch leg is also preferred to stop rubbing, but not nearly as important as the other issue

My experience with C-IN2 Thongs

Hi. I have recently "test driven" a few different product lines from a few brands. A lot of my recent tests were on a few different styles from C-IN2. I wanted to share my personal experience with them.

So far, the Minimal Thongs are the most comfortable of all. I have also tried Core, Hard//Core, undertone, and Hand Me Down. Hard//Core and Undertone, though I like their looks, feel a bit too rough on my skin. When I'm wearing them, they are constantly reminding me of their presence via the central thong fabric. The Hand Me Down and Core are almost as comfortable as the Minimal. Minimal is so comfortable that I can't really tell if I'm wearing it or not.

Part of the difference between these styles is the fabric. I guess I prefer modal instead of all or nearly all cotton. Also it's the texture. Minimal is made out of the smoothest fabric among the C-IN2 thongs that I have tried on so far. Minimal Thongs, in my opinion are as comfortable as Obviously Primeman and Krakatoa Vesuvius Thongs.

Which briefs and trunks do you like?

Hey, everyone. I usually wear cotton/spandex boxer briefs, but I also really like the fit of briefs and trunks, specifically Hanes originals cotton stretch low rise briefs, CK cotton stretch hip briefs, and CK Icon cotton stretch low rise trunks. What are some other options for briefs or trunks that I might like? I’m looking to expand my horizons. Thanks :)

Looking for something like old Uniqlo Seamless Briefs

Like 10 years ago I bought these briefs from Uniqlo. I absolutely loved them. They were my favourite. Bought like 20 pairs. Eventually they were discontinued and I haven't been able to find anything similar. Any ideas where I could get something similar today?

Am I the only one?

So I've been trying to transition to boxer briefs for a few months now, coming from over 30+ years of cotton knit standard boxers like Hanes and FOTL, not the old school droopy bottom looking ones. Recently got a few pairs of bamboo viscose Expertofitio from Amazon and these have been pretty nice, have gotton rid of all my old cotton... But due to getting more active in my late 40's, (running 5k races and longish distance hiking, 10-15 miles), I've been exploring boxer briefs.... But having issues. So for reference Im about 155 lbs, 31-32 inch waist, thin build, grower not shower (4-7 inch), low hanging berries, not high and tight... Been wearing Medium for years.

1st try was Rustler brand from Walmart, polyester- just horrible, no pouch, way too constricting, they would almost funnel my berries back between my thighs to the taint area, legs rode up something terrible, so uncomfortable! Only thing good was the Medium waist fit

2nd was Bamboo Cool from Amazon, pouch was well, strange, would start out good, but just 15 minutes and the berries were again either being funneled back to taint, or falling out and going down leg, legs would ride up worse than standard boxers, and waist band pulled up over belly button. Medium felt like Large, just loose everywhere, could almost wear these as standard boxers if the waist band was snugger and the pouch was right.

3rd, Hanes X-temp with total support pouch long leg, polyester, these are better, but need improvement. Legs and waist fit good, legs dont seem to ride up, waist sits about 1-2 inch below belly button with just the right amount of tension around, just about right. Pouch is a little smallish and too high and mesh bumpers, wings, whatever you call them, were kinda not wide enough allowing the twig or berries to occasionally fall out, and where they come to a V just below the sack could get uncomfortable at times, also on car rides or sitting times they felt tight under the sack area creating discomfort. When i say pouch is too high, my low hangers weight will eventually pull the front waist band down.

4th, Separatec Independent pouch (NOT dual-pouch), micro-modal, pouch is better on these, inner pouch wings are better on these, although they could go all the way up to the waist band like the Hanes do. Waist band is a little loose and low sitting (for me) and slippery feeling easily moves around, pouch is about the correct size but still too high, again pulling waistband down too low. Legs could be a tad snugger fitting, maybe I need to try a size Small? Also still get the discomfort at the taint sack connection point on car rides or couch time.

So it seems to me all these pouches want to hold you "high and tight" so to speak. With low rise waist bands about 3-4 inches below the belly botton....

Is there any options out there that offer the following;

- waist band that sits just below belly botton to 1 inch below, ya know, not way down on my hips

- pouch that offers a more natural droop, not high and tight, without pulling the waist band down below my pants and belt. I wear mens pants, work pants, not low rise skinny jeans..... Relaxed fit, boot cut legs, you get the idea, room in the crotch region.

- Medium that fits more like a medium (hanes are the only ones that medium feels right, all others I'll probably try small, but im worried if the pouch will be even worse and pulling the waist band even lower.

- all this without spending $20 - $30 a pair,

All the pair i look at, RMAC, KRAKOTA, etc, all look to be low rise and $20+ per pair, these are NOT for me. I have a family to support and we're a single income house.

I guess what I'm asking for is leg support, for running and hiking, but with a lower pouch that allows a more natural droop instead of high and showy, but still gives that ball/leg seperation during active times.

Im an heavy equipment mechanic, so im constantly moving around, and after a day of work with a high pouch, i kinda feel like a got kicked in the.... I like to hang low like the male body was designed to, but just want the separation aspect.

Does anything exist that isnt totally custom or $$$

Bikini briefs

I have a varied collection of underwear, started with cheekies/ boy shorts, they have been my go to for a long time, silk thongs are also amazing, jockstraps are ok depending on the material, I’ve been looking at bikini briefs recently and was wondering if there was an actual brick and mortar store where they can be found? I’ve had some trouble ordering online, half of the time they are the wrong size, would like to be able to check them out before buying (I’ve already checked the local Adam and Eve stores plus the other adult shops around town) I’m in Idaho btw

🔥 Hottest type of underpants?

I know this is very subjective, and that opinions will vary.. but am very curious to hear opinions here.

TLDR: I’m curious for suggestions.. what’s the hottest pair of underwear a man can wear for his lady??

For context—

I’m a 38M straight, 11yrs married to 43F. I recently swapped from boxers to a simple pack of cotton Haynes underwear (from Target bc under packed clothes while on a trip) and she absolutely came alive with comments. Literally can’t stop admiring… and is first time she’s ever really said anything about underwear haha…

Given that, (and after years of me giving her input on sexy lingerie for her) I feel like I have a due diligence to dive into a bit of R&D to see what the ladies (or guys) can share in terms of male underwear and stuff that looks masculine sexy. Doesn’t have to be over the top… or can be. I just have no idea what’s out there beyond things like the Saax briefs I’ve worn for years + these Hanes undies.

Underwear stores within EU?

I've been constantly searching for good stores that sell online in the eu. The adds and the most interesting sites i see are always located in the US, but the shipping and taxes tend to get quite high. I do wear them all from boxers to thongs and love each style but dont know which sites are legit.

As we move zero brief fit?

If anyone has the zero brief from as we move, how do you feel the fit is, too tight, just right, or not enough pouch? I personally think it could do with more pouch but still keep things contained. Feeling everything be contained yet squashed or squished feels a bit annoying.

Thoughts? 🧠

Anyone found boxer briefs that stay comfortable all day in hot weather without riding up?

Hey guys, my regular cotton trunks start feeling sticky and uncomfortable after a few hours in Kolkata's heat, especially with daily commutes.

They ride up constantly and the waistband loses shape pretty quickly. I’m a 32 waist, average build, looking for something more breathable with decent support.

Also, wanted to ask what have you switched to that actually works in hot weather? Also, any laundry care tips you follow to make good underwear last longer?

I usually wash cold and air dry but still see them degrade after 6-8 months.

Jockey thongs

I bought a three pack of the jockey micro fiber stretch thongs after a girl I had been talking to suggested trying a thong and I was skeptical being an everyday breifs or boxer brief wearer for my whole life but I’m convinced.

At first I didn’t like the back. Seemed to rub hard and pinch. But after some research on this page I exchanged them for a size bigger and holy cow they are so comfortable. I’m 5’9” about 180 pounds. With thick thighs and went with the size large. Plenty of support but not too tight and no rubbing. Within 5 days I am comfortable wearing them everywhere.

Thanks for the confidence guys!

Wunderwear Dupe

I'm looking to see if anyone knows underwear similar to Wunderwear's boxer briefs. It seems like the company went under and they only made a few boxer briefs and they are my favorite.

What I like about them is that they are light but don't bunch up, they are stretchy but don't cling to my skin, and they are soft.

If anyone has recommendations that would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Bikini Briefs

Enough of the thong chatter. I have been a CK modal boxer briefs guy for many years. I recently purchased a bunch of new styles from Real Men Apparel. Boxer briefs, briefs and bikini briefs. A mystery pack also had some modal thongs and a strapless jock. No thank you to the thongs! But let me tell you, the RMAC modal bikini briefs are some of the most comfortable undies ever! A new discovery for me!

Opinions on Lace/Other Different Styles?

Hey everyone!!!

I know we all have our preferences, and typically that lies in being comfortable & functional, since we all want that nice fit with the power of moisture wicking.

However, the question can be had about more fun styles! Do you guys have anything lacey or sheer? I personally own a couple of pairs & they’re fun but not my go to for anything daily.

Personally, I enjoy how I look & feel in them, but that’s just me.

What are your opinions? What different material/styles do you own or like to wear?

Is there anything you guys would like to see more of?
