Ruby post 75?

I'm a returning player from oldschool days. I've just reached lvl 75 for the first time ever, and... I'm kinda lost on what to do next and how make money.

I'm a warrior body with some good HP/crit/poison +9 eq, but pretty much no resistances to elements to speak of.

Any advice on where to go from here, and more importantly how to make money? Are there any particular drops I should be targeting?

What do you think about Triarch metin2?

I started playing on this server two weeks ago, and I have to say I’m really enjoying it. It feels very well structured, and you can tell the developers have put a lot of care into it. The gameplay is challenging but rewarding, and most importantly, it’s not the typical pay-to-win server that you see everywhere nowadays. What do you guys think about it?

Looking for a stable, low-P2W P-Server

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to play Metin2 again, but I don't want to play on the official servers because you need to grind so much and spend tons of real cash.

At the same time, I don't want to waste my free time on shady private servers that close or wipe progress after 3–4 months. If I invest hundreds of hours into a character, I want to know the server is still going to be around in two years.

I'm specifically looking for:
• Longevity & Stability: No sudden shutdowns/wipes.
• F2P-Friendly / Low P2W: Everything must be reasonably achievable through regular gameplay.
• Preferably single-client: It would be ideal if you only need one client to progress. I don't want to manage 10 different windows simultaneously.

Whether it’s Oldschool or Middleschool doesn’t matter as long as the gameplay is good.

What servers fit this description right now? Would love to hear your experiences and recommendations!

Ruby or Emerald?

I’d like to start fresh on one of the two servers. What would you recommend? I was thinking Emerald, since with the subscription you basically get your money back through all the bonuses. I’d rather not have to maintain multiple accounts just to keep up reasonably well like Tigerghost.

The Turkish server was my first idea because I heard the Item Shop is supposed to be much cheaper there, but somehow the prices are the same for me as on the German server.

Which has more Player?

Which metin2 Sever?

Good evening,

I wanted to get back into Metin after a long break and was wondering which server you would recommend. About 1½ years ago, I used to play on Tigerghost, but this time I would like to try a different server.

I remember there being a server where you could pay around €30 for six months of access. At the time, I was too cheap to try it. I believe the server was called Ruby.

Was Ruby good back then, and is it still a good server today? I wouldn't mind the subscription model, since you can supposedly make back roughly the same amount through the rewards you receive, which you would normally have to buy with Coins.

Another important point for me is that I don't want to have to create 10+ accounts just to keep up with other players. Personally, I would be fine with having a maximum of three accounts: my main account, a buff account, and a farming account. I would prefer to focus on progressing with my main character rather than managing a large number of accounts at the same time.

So, which server would you recommend for someone looking to start playing again?

P.S: I can speak english and german and a little bit turkish.

Gear for enchanted forest body warrior

Hi everyone.
I have a level 107 Corporal Warrior. I'd like to equip him to farm metins in the Enchanted Forest.
I currently have dull alchemy and nothing else.
I'd like to know what gear to get to farm decently, not super gear.
Let's say the bare minimum to farm decently, which weapon, armor and other stuff.

Searching new server.

Hello everyone! Recently i started playing the game after a loong time. As a casual player, i was looking for a decent private server to play and i saw some servers changed classes so they can all by viable. I like the implementation where ninja archer can hit multiple targets. So fac o tried Triarch and Elion that have this but, for me, it's to hard and classic to play. As a casual player it's seems to grindy. So i am looking for a server with this specs:

- Ninja archer is viable, can hit multiple targets

- no pokemon server, i like classic with QOL implementations (auto hunt would be nice)

- difficulty should be medium-hard

I like how Shiva is in term of difficulty.

So i am opened to any reccommendations

METIN2 on Unreal Engine

This project isn't about replacing the original Metin2, nor simply recreating it inside Unreal Engine.

The goal is to preserve the unique feeling that made Metin2 so memorable while modernizing everything that time has left behind.

The combat, progression, atmosphere, and identity of the game remain at the heart of the project. At the same time, outdated mechanics, unnecessary limitations, and aging design choices are being carefully refined to meet the expectations of modern MMORPG players.

Rather than changing what players loved, the objective is to improve what always held the game back.

What to expect

✔ The classic Metin2 experience and feeling

✔ Gameplay that stays true to its roots

✔ Modernized systems where they genuinely improve the game

✔ Unreal Engine graphics, lighting, performance, and tools

✔ Over three years of continuous development since 2023

The vision is simple:

Imagine the Metin2 you grew up with—but evolved as if it had continued to grow for the last twenty years instead of standing still.

Development is still ongoing, and I regularly share progress updates, technical insights, screenshots, and gameplay previews with the community.

mt2009.eu

I was playing on this server when it came out, but its servers got hacked or something, and they were forced to wipe the servers. It was such a fun pvp server. I was wondering if it is worth playing at the moment. If not, I'm open to recommendations.

How is Triarch Online on mobile? Does it actually play well or is the PC version much better?

Thinking about giving it a try but I mostly play on my phone, so wondering if the mobile experience is decent or if it's mainly worth playing on PC. I heard it feels the same overall

Looking for an oldschool private server

I've played wom2 for years and I liked it for the casual friendly gameplay but game masters there are so bad with the attitude it makes the server unplayable.. I couldnt find many alternatives sadly so im open for advices

Shiva - open for years now and and looks like no new player base

2009eu - devs are not trusted + low player base

Elion - really nice updates for gameplay but has low playerbase and weird camera

[Release] Metin2 WebClient - Play Metin2 from your Browser and setup for yourself (Open-Source)

Hello guys,

you might remember me from this post Metin2 Singleplayer Installation Suite + full Linux Port of Serverfiles here. Since then I have been working on the feature I wanted to have from the very beginning, and now it's finally there:

You can now play Metin2 directly in your Browser. No Download & no Installation

Try it right now:

metin2-sp.htpsoftware.com

Join our Discord to not miss on any news & updates! There are very big updates planned for the upcoming weeks:

Metin2 Browsergame Discord

Just register an account there and press PLAY IN YOUR BROWSER NOW. That's my own instance running on a Debian 13 VPS, with exactly the setup described in this post. I will keep it running for anybody logging in and feeling like playing.

It's the original 2014 Metin2 Experience with all quests, without an Itemshop & slightly upped EXP, Yang and Item Drop Rates to not make it feel as grindy as it was back then. The rates can be adjusted if you want.

If you prefer the classic Windows Client, it's on the same page - same Server, same account, same characters either way. You can create a character in the Browser and log into it later from the downloaded Client.

If you also used the Installation Suite from the previous post, you can just update it by rerunning the exact same command, the installation suite will properly update your old installation and prompt you for the Web Client.

What the Web Client does:

It runs in any Chromium Browser (successfully tested on Chrome, Edge and Brave). No plugins, no Java, nothing to install on the player's side.

The WebClient is based on the Old-Metin2 WebClient (kudos to Exynox and his contributors) and has a few more bugfixes built in. It streams the Game Data on demand, so no initial download required & very memory efficient. Whenever some data has to be loaded, it may have some framedrops here and there, but I am actively optimizing the WebClient.

The installer now asks you which Clients you want to provide to your players — Web Client, Desktop Client, or both — and it only downloads what you picked. If you already run a server from the first release, just run the installer again and it will offer you the Web Client.

With a Domain everything runs under one address with HTTPS: Panel, registration and the Game itself. You can also put Cloudflare behind it.

A few notes about the Web Client:

The downloaded Client still runs smoother, and the Web Client still has some rough edges I'm working on (a few effects look off, the first start takes a moment while everything loads). It's good enough to actually play through, but I wouldn't call it finished yet. Please go and break it on my instance above and tell me how — that's usually how the bugs get found.

For those who missed the first post, what the project is:

It's a way of enjoying Metin2 Singleplayer, or with some friends, tailored towards tech-newbies. It includes a 100% patch that ports the original TMP4 (2014) Serverfiles to Linux — the originals only run on FreeBSD, which barely has community support and which no cheap VPS offers. Thanks to that port everything runs in Docker, natively on Windows with WSL2 or on any Linux VPS for around 1€ per month, without a full fledged VM.

It also comes with a lightweight Admin Panel (English, German & Turkish) where you can adjust EXP-, Drop- and Yang-Rates, give items, yang and levels, switch the Game into any of 15 Languages and manage accounts — for example if you want to run multiple clients simultaneously.

And now, on top of all of this, you also have a WebClient to be able to play it from ANY device without having to download the Client all the time. Crossplay between Desktop Client and WebClient is also supported!

Quick-Start (same as the one in the other post, only required if you want to set it up on your own server/machine):

Windows (100% offline after setup, only reachable from that machine), run in a PowerShell:

irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/AzzlackSyndicate/metin2-singleplayer-serverfiles-linux/main/installer/install.ps1 | iex

Linux VPS:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/AzzlackSyndicate/metin2-singleplayer-serverfiles-linux/main/installer/install.sh | sudo sh

Linux VPS with your own Domain & HTTPS via LetsEncrypt:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/AzzlackSyndicate/metin2-singleplayer-serverfiles-linux/main/installer/install.sh \
  | sudo sh -s -- \
      --domain yourdomain.com \
      --email contact@yourdomain.com

Cloudflare DNS is supported and the record can be proxied. Running the installer twice is safe.

Link to the Public Repository: https://github.com/AzzlackSyndicate/metin2-singleplayer-serverfiles-linux

Same as last time: the project is 100% open-source and it WILL stay open-source. It doesn't include any game- or serverfiles of Metin2 — everything copyrighted has to be downloaded from a thirdparty link that is not affiliated with this project.

Feel free to put suggestions, I am always happy and eager to build in new features. Also, please report bugs, either in Github, or here.
