The End of Czech private servers?

Can someone from the Czech Republic confirm this article?

According to the article, following an anonymous report, the police visited house of the owners of a private server in the Czech Republic and criminal proceedings are underway against them for illegal use of the source code of the Metin2 game.

Honestly, this is the first time I have encountered such a situation where the police acted against private servers without GF's interference (unless GF reported them :) )

There were several similar actions but against bot/cheat creators

Do you have stricter copyright laws in the Czech Republic?
Has the server shut down?

Metin2 Unreal Engine - Take part of the Community

Metin2 in Unreal Engine — Built for Everyone, Shaped by the Community

This project isn't just about bringing Metin2 into Unreal Engine.

It's about making it accessible to as many players as possible while building it together with the community.

One of my main goals is to ensure the game can run smoothly even on low-end PCs, just like the original Metin2 did for so many players. Better graphics should never come at the cost of excluding people from playing.

The project has been in development since 2023, with the objective of preserving the original gameplay, mechanics, and feeling while taking advantage of Unreal Engine's modern technology.

But this isn't a project I want to build alone.

I've opened a Discord server where everyone is welcome to join, whether you're a veteran player, a server owner, a developer, or simply someone who loves Metin2.

The idea is to grow the project day by day together with the community:

-Share ideas and suggestions

-Discuss game mechanics

-Give feedback

-Help shape future features

-Follow development as it happens

Every opinion is valuable, and community feedback will play an important role in the direction of the project.

If you'd like to be part of the journey, you're more than welcome to join us.

What features or improvements would you like to see in a faithful Unreal Engine version of Metin2 while keeping the spirit of the original game?

Metin2 Unreal Engine

This Isn't a Metin2 Remake — It's Metin2 Running Inside Unreal Engine 🔥

Most "Metin2 Unreal Engine" projects you've seen simply import the game's old assets into Unreal and build a new experience around them.

This is not that.

For over 3 years, since 2023, I've been working on a much more ambitious goal: bringing the original Metin2 engine and systems into Unreal Engine while preserving the authentic gameplay experience that players remember.

This project is not a visual remake, a reinterpretation, or an emulation. The goal is to keep the original game logic, mechanics, systems, and behavior intact while benefiting from everything Unreal Engine has to offer.

A lot of you have been asking in the comments about performance, FPS drops, and optimization. The attached video is my direct response. It showcases the actual in-game performance, proving that we can achieve modern, smooth rendering even on low-end PCs, exactly as demonstrated in the footage.

What makes this project different: ✅ Original game systems faithfully preserved ✅ Gameplay behavior matching the original experience ✅ Deep integration into Unreal Engine (not an emulation) ✅ Modern rendering, lighting, tools, and scalability ✅ Optimized to run smoothly even on low-end PCs

Thousands of hours have gone into reverse engineering, engine integration, optimization, and testing to ensure the result remains as faithful as possible to the original game.

The vision is simple: "Play the Metin2 you remember, powered by Unreal Engine."

I'm sharing development updates, screenshots, technical insights, and future plans on our Discord server. 💬 Discord: [https://discord.gg/stormrealm]

I'd love to hear what veteran Metin2 players think about this approach. What is the one thing that should never change in a modern version of Metin2?

New start- new server (After 10years)

Hello everyone,

for the upcoming server, I really want to tryhard – not in terms of server first or rankings, but simply to get the maximum out of it for myself.

My current plan looks like this:

3–5 ranged ninjas + 1 shaman
alternatively even 7 ranged ninjas + 1 shaman (full 8-character group)

The idea behind this is that all ninjas farm permanently with bows and auto-hunt. I’ve already tested this, and in SD as well as Grotto it works surprisingly well in my opinion, as long as the equipment is right.

On each account, I would immediately use double drop, EXP ring, and third hand. That’s exactly why I’m wondering whether 8 accounts even make sense or if 4–5 accounts would be significantly more efficient.

My planned progression:

level directly in Map2 and farm Yang
then move on to SD2/SD3 and later Grotto
mine ores in the temple from time to time
keep one character fishing permanently (ideally get a carbon rod early)
do Cors quests on all characters (even though I’ve heard they’ve become worse)
of course, participate in events as well

I would deliberately ignore stones at the beginning. Later, I would create a separate Map1 farmer for that once the situation on the server has calmed down a bit.

My actual questions:

Would you rather play 4–5 accounts or go straight for the full 8-character group? Or maybe just 1 ninja and 1 shaman?

Do you think ranged ninjas are a good choice for multi-farming, or am I overlooking a major disadvantage?
Which source of income would you prioritize at server start? Fishing, mining, events, or something completely different?
Are Cors still worth it nowadays?
As a main, I want to play a ninja + shaman later on. Would you skill the ninja for melee or ranged?
In the endgame, do you play a ninja permanently with daggers, or do you regularly need a sword/two-hander as well (e.g., for fighting on horseback)?
What’s the fastest way to get a carbon rod?
For Hydra or similar content, you need 8 characters – is that a good argument to start directly with 8 accounts?
What’s the fastest way to get enough Yang to buy auto-arrows from the general store for the ranged ninjas?
My long-term goal would be to get all characters to at least level 95 and then decide whether to push them all to 105+.
I appreciate any opinions – especially from players who have already played multi-character setups or ninja farming on new servers.

These are many ups😭 Thanks alot

Mt2009

Mt2009.eu I see a lot of people leaving the server, but I actually really like it and have a good time; I'm currently building a Black Magic Sura, which is pretty challenging but fun. That said, I do need another account to farm more items. Is there anyone who has quit the game who could lend me an account?

Best official server to comeback to the game?

Hi,

I haven't played the game for almost 10years.

I logged back in here and there but I don't know what to do anymore.

I currently started tigerghost for about a week now, I truly saw a difference between here and the classic EU server, people are overall more friendly and there is way less bots.

However my only complaint would be that everywhere there are some players, mostly ninjas with bows, auto farming God knows what so it's harder to find a free good spot to farm. If you know what's the matter with that I would really like to know the answer !

I've also seen few people recommend to play either on ruby or sapphire servers because apparently there is even less bots there, again if someone would kindly explain what's the difference between these two and maybe give a recommendation I would really appreciate it !

Thank you for reading.

Anyone else following Arthion Open Beta?

I've been keeping an eye on Arthion's Open Beta over the last few days, and I have to admit I'm pleasantly surprised.

The server focuses on an old-school PvM experience without the usual pay-to-win advantages. Premium doesn't increase EXP or drop rates, which is something I personally miss on many newer private servers.

A few things that stood out to me:

  • Over 1,000 active players during the Open Beta.
  • Developers have been releasing frequent balance fixes based on player feedback.
  • Early game damage issues were already addressed.
  • Active anti-cheat improvements.
  • International community with players from multiple countries.

I'm curious what everyone else thinks after trying it. Do you think a slower, long-term progression server still has a place in 2026, or do most players prefer fast-paced servers now?

If anyone decides to give it a try, you can use the AEX code during registration for a few extra starter benefits. 🙂

Would love to hear some honest opinions from people who have already tested the beta.

Looking for a Metin2 private server like old Metin2 United (rare materials, contested farming, no system bloat)

Hey,

I’m looking for a Metin2 private server similar to Metin2 United around 2011.

What I liked was the progression loop: leveling actually mattered, you farmed specific maps/spots for rare upgrade materials, those materials were valuable/tradable, and you could either use them to upgrade your gear or sell them to buy what you needed. Some spots were contested, so PvP naturally happened because people were fighting over resources.

I don’t mind custom weapons/armors after level 90/105/120, and max level can be 105, 120, 150, 250, etc. That part doesn’t matter too much.

What I don’t want is a server where you rush to max level quickly and then the whole game becomes managing alchemy, sashes, pets, mounts, costume bonuses, aura/runes/talismans/Gaya, battle pass, dailies, auto-farm, and 10 other systems.

I’m looking for something where the main game is still: level up → farm valuable drops/materials → upgrade gear → trade/sell → contest farming spots → get stronger.

Ideally EU/international or Romanian, with decent population and an active market.

Does anything like this exist right now?

I used some AI to better understand what I want and what I liked in the past, hope that's OK.
