M365 Mail connection issue from mobile devices

Anyone else seeing connection issues from mobile devices using the built in Mail app?

We use the native email app on iOS devices and are seeing about 10% (9/93) of our fleet (that we know of) reporting issues with email either not updating or giving a server connection error.

Australia based with devices across a wide variety of different networks and locations.

Outlook app seems to be working fine. Beginning to look like a Microsoft issue.

No errors showing in Entra with regards authentication.

Outlook for Mac (new issue): Email invites not sending

I'm a longtime Outlook for Mac (desktop app) user and honestly I have no idea why I'm still torturing myself like this. The issue du jour: All of a sudden MOST of my email invitations to external email addresses never reach their destination. This started about 2-3 days ago. I was checking with a client to make sure they had a series of interviews I was lining up on their calendars and they said, "We have these 2, but NOT these 2." I double-checked and my own calendar showed I had created the invites, included them on the invite, etc. But they never received them. I created those two invites a second time, hit send. Nothing. Nothing received on their end. Nothing showing as sent in my sent mail. Occasionally one will get through (the less content I put in the body of the invitation, the more likely it is to go through - but that doesn't consistently resolve the issue). For context, I am on a MacBook Pro, using my own domain that is served by Google/gmail. I have that gmail email address (myname@mydomain.com) set up NOT using the "automatically sync with gmail" option because that previously gave me different headaches.

Built a chrome extension that tracks email opens in Gmail AND Outlook

My office uses Outlook and I use Gmail for my personal email and I couldn't find a tool for tracking email opens that supports both, so I created one myself. It shows how many times, at what time, and from where your emails have been opened. It was just added to the chrome store a couple of days ago, here's the link if you want to give it a try: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/email-read-receipts/poepadmppppnmhicggadoiohpoiehnli

Happy to answer any questions.

Outlook using username from different site, can I prevent this?

Recently I've noticed that when I attempt to send myself an email on Outlook (I do this for files I need to print, like my resume), the name that shows up when I type my own email address into the search bar is a username I use for a website, rather than my actual name.

For example, if my email was jamesbond@hotmail, my name would usually show up as James Bond, but recently it's been showing up as shakennotstirred, which is a username I use for a random website. I would rather not have this username associated with this email account for privacy reasons. But when I go into my Microsoft account profile, it still lists my name as James Bond. Can other people see this? And how do I change it? It's literally so random that it has been changed and connected from this specific website - I use a variety of usernames across the internet so I can keep certain things separate (i.e. I don't mind my Instagram and Letterboxd usernames being the same, but I have a different Twitter username so employers can't find me), and I only use this username for one specific website so it's definitely linking to that one site, and I'm just concerned about it. Please help! :)

Having Problems With New Outlook Link Preview? There’s a Reason

FYI for anyone wondering why the Link Preview hasn't been working in New Outlook.

Stop troubleshooting and share this with your team.

Microsoft has confirmed that the feature has been deprecated. What makes this confusing is that the setting is still visible, and Microsoft still has Support documentation for the feature.

I put together a short post explaining what Link Preview did, where it has stopped working, and what is still unclear:

Recover Deleted Emails

Good day to all.

I work for a management company. Our IT department is small. Only 3 of us to manage about 300 active users and no MSP. We have a hybrid AD/Entra environment. Most of our users are 365 Business Premium licensed. Our company operates in the medical field, so we are subject to HIPAA and have a global 7 year data retention policy setup in Microsoft for Exchange and OneDrive/Sharepoint.

Without providing too much detail that I'm, for the most part, not privy to myself, we had some kind of incident with an employee doing some things they shouldn't have been doing. But like a lot of times, the IT department was left out of the loop. On 6/10/26, we were told the user was terminated, so we went through our normal process of disabling the user, removing permissions, the usual. We were not, and are almost never privy to the circumstances behind a termination.

I found out this Monday (8/10/26) that there is some litigation going on regarding this person's termination and we were asked to preserve the users emails and recover anything that was deleted. HR has been adamant about recovering their deleted emails that they are positive exist. When I found out about the litigation on Monday, I placed a litigation hold on the user's account.

I've started the process of trying to recover deleted emails through Exchange Admin > Mailboxes > [User] > Other > Recover deleted items. I've set the date filter for the entirety of their tenure with the company, which was only a couple of months, and I've come up with nothing that can be recovered. It's my understanding that even if the user deleted emails, deleted them from the deleted items folder, then purged them from the recovery window in Outlook, our data retention policies should still make them recoverable.

My question is: With our data retention policies in place, does this mean that they didn't delete anything? Or would the time that passed between the termination and the litigation hold being put in place be too much to recover anything?

Can´t see my e-mails saved on my tasks

https://preview.redd.it/ry5tmnv07rih1.png?width=371&format=png&auto=webp&s=9b22d1aa461db996d8f84c2d1008eba25b4be88a

Hello everyone.
Could someone please help me? I’ve been using Classic Outlook and its Tasks feature for years. I use tasks to save emails and keep a record for follow-up purposes, but yesterday all my emails mysteriously disappeared. Now, I can't save new emails or view the ones that were already in my tasks. Do you know how I can fix this?

Microsoft trying to recover wrong email?

I'm trying to recover an old email account that I forgot the password to and the only way I can get in the through the password recovery. So I went through all the steps and entered all the info I could which wasn't much and my recovery was denied but in the denial email it has a different email that it thinks I'm trying to recover!

It's like "what email are you trying to recover" oldlostemail@outlook.com then it's like "Your're recovery account request for someothemail@live.com was denied"

That's not the email I told it I was trying to recover! That's the other email I can't get into. X'D Its not even important I just really wanted to see some old stuff but I don't understand at all why it thinks I want in the other email

Sharing folder in inbox

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to check if it's possible to share only a specific folder in the Inbox. I tried sharing it through the folder's Properties, but the person I shared it with hasn't received any email or notification explaining how to access it.

Has anyone done this before or knows the correct way to share a single Inbox folder?

Thanks
