Current MAPS Program

Regardless of your thoughts on Mind Pump nowadays, is anybody currently running a MAPS program? If so, what phase are you on in the program and what do you think of it?

Maps Upper/Lower

I do like how they have started venturing out of the full body and into a few. Other different splits. But they just seem to lack the extras like trigger sessions and mobility days built in the helped my feel I was getting a bit of value. At this point the videos are very little use to me

MAPS Cardio

A couple of months ago I decided to run MAPS Cardio. The goal was to improve overall strength and endurance. Surprisingly, this program was amazing. I’ve run many other MAPS programs in the past but I wanted to try something completely different with this one. It is a 3 lifts per week program with each day having a specific focus. One day is functional type day with sled work, carries, and lifts of that nature. Another day is strength endurance day with high reps and supersets, and the last day each week is 5x5 day. Each have a specific cardio machine focus at the end. I also really liked the optional 4th day which was full body sculpting day or a specific cardio of your choice like running, cycling, or swimming. The specific cardio exercises each day allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and try some new machines that I would normally never use such as the rower, elliptical, and stair master. It was fun to challenge myself and try to get better each week on those. Fantastic program that the guys don’t recommend much but I would suggest it if you are looking for something new and different and want to build overall strength stamina and endurance.

Any ideas on what the new mind pump programme is.

Seen on doug's story the video editor said that they are releasing a new programme next week. What do you guys think it will or should be.

I don't think Adam training Corrine is going very well

Adam rarely talks about training Corrine anymore. When Adam does talk about Corrine, he refers to her as "a client of mine" and no longer mentions her name. Corrine probably got sick of her fat gain journey being talked about by these clowns

“The data is clear…”

Sal throws around the term “the data shows” or “the data is clear” at least a dozen times every episode.
It’s a common tactic to sound authoritative and it’s deceptive.
In this case it’s to sell you one of their sponsored products. But if you’re asking people to buy a product based on “the data” the least you can do is show them the data. Otherwise it’s no different from saying “In my opinion.”

Program results

Despite your opinions on the show and how it's changed, how's your results with their programming been and how does it stack up with the other "proven" programs out there?

I worked out for years in the past, fell off when gyms shut for covid and just haven't been able to get back consistent until now. Since there's been about 500 different changes in "what's best" and since the mp programs are designed to be used as a progression, it seems like a good plan to just use them.

I was considering running anabolic(or possibly starting with 15 then going to anabolic) , aesthetic, anabolic advanced, symmetry, then powerlift as a good long term plan.

Anyone done something similar? Any changes I should make or programs I should swap/avoid?

Other Fitness Podcasts

So what are some other fitness podcasts you guys/girls would recommend? I've been listening to MP for maybe a month, previously listen to Mike Matthews' pod, which has ended.

Things I like about MP and/or would be in my dream podcast are:

- Multi host (I don't want to hear just one person droning on)

- Good for beginners

- I actually like the going off on tangents parts

- Relatively non-political (I already listen to politics podcasts)
