LoungeSMP - a chill Java + Bedrock survival SMP with a friendly community

Hey, we’re looking for more players to join LoungeSMP.

It’s a semi-vanilla Minecraft survival SMP for Java and Bedrock players, built around a relaxed community feel. The server is active, but not huge, so it’s still easy to meet people, start fresh, and become part of the world.

You can build, explore, grind jobs, make shops, join towns, trade with other players, take part in events, or just hang out in chat while playing survival.

We have economy, jobs, player shops, towns, warps, land claims, rollback protection, keep inventory, and PvP off by default. The goal is to keep the normal survival feel while giving players more reasons to stick around.

We also run community events, and we’re doing a hide and seek event today, so it’s a good time to join if you want to meet people and get involved right away.

The vibe is friendly and laid-back. Swearing and joking around is fine, but griefing, cheating, bullying, hate, and targeting players are not allowed.

If you’re looking for a Minecraft SMP server to join that works on both Java and Bedrock, has an active community, and still feels like normal survival, LoungeSMP might be a good fit.

Ppl who say bedrock edition is hard just dont want to adapt

I got the chance to play bedrock since I've been playing java for years and said why not give it a shot overall early game tasks such as getting diamonds are hard due to mobs spawn rate nether was hell like genuinely it was never that hard on java but the moment you get full netherite equipment those obstacles are just deleted was able to delete the wither in like 30 seconds the only issue was the absurd lag in the other half of the phase without the need to use mace / netherite spear or even golden apples lol

I wanted to share my experience with pro Java gamers.

Hello everyone.

For the past few months, I've been talking to Java pros to understand why they hate Bedrock so much.

Each time, the same conclusion is reached, the same two arguments: the marketplace and the lack of mods.

Except that this kind of response gives a certain impression. It seems like all pro-Java gamers hate the vanilla version of the game. Even their own version.

It seems that for them, if the game is too close to the vanilla version, it's not good.

Furthermore, many players say that Bedrock lacks too many features, features which in Java are actually mostly bugs, which over the years have become commonplace.

Regarding the marketplace, I get the impression that many Java players don't realize that some excellent mods are available for free on Cursforge, for example. Furthermore, while the marketplace isn't a particularly great feature, it does allow developers who create good content and dedicate a significant amount of time to see their efforts rewarded.

What I want here is for everyone to be friendly, and I know that on this sub there are some Java fanboys who only come to try and discredit us, and if those kinds of people come here, then they should just move on, because I want a constructive conversation. No insults, no trolling, no attempts to humiliate anyone. I know that good Java players exist who are ready to talk, even if they're buried under the wave of Java fanboys.

I know it was a long read, but if you've made it this far, thank you very much.

Ah, and yes, for those who say I'm pro-bedrock, know that I play both versions, and I'm even developing a mod for Java.

Most Minecraft Servers Reset Before They Become Worlds

Most Minecraft servers disappear before anything meaningful can actually develop.

Fresh map.
Fresh economy.
Fresh Discord hype cycle.

Then two months later the community disappears, the map resets, and nobody remembers anything that happened there six months later.

After a while, every server starts feeling interchangeable.

Cozy MC was built around the opposite idea:

What happens if a survival world actually survives long enough for history, reputation, infrastructure, and communities to form naturally?

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

🏡 Cozy MC is a civilization-style vanilla survival world built around:

* trust instead of claims
* community instead of monetization
* long-term persistence instead of constant resets
* social reputation instead of protection plugins everywhere

Not “civilization” in the sense of forced war roleplay…

but civilization in the simpler sense:

a large shared world shaped by its players over time.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

This is the kind of world where:

* towns naturally emerge
* roads and railways connect communities
* shopping districts evolve over months
* public infrastructure gets debated and expanded
* players become known for generosity, leadership, creativity, reliability, or building skill
* alliances, rivalries, cultures, and histories form naturally over time

After enough time, the world starts feeling less like “a server”…

and more like a place people collectively live in.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

What makes Cozy MC unusual is that it operates this way at scale WITHOUT:

* NO land claims
* NO locked chests
* NO pay-to-win systems
* NO donor perks
* NO gameplay monetization
* NO constant fresh-start resets

Just expectations, moderation, reputation, and trust.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Most large Minecraft servers solve social problems mechanically.

Cozy MC tries to solve them socially instead.

That means:

* griefing or stealing → permanent ban
* PvP → by agreement only
* strict anti-cheat enforcement
* long-term persistence matters
* reputation matters
* community history matters

Instead of hiding behind protection plugins, players rely on each other socially.

And it works.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

We regularly have dozens of players online together in one persistent survival world.

People recognize each other.

Large towns become landmarks.

Players return to projects they started months ago because they know the world will still exist.

The server starts feeling less like “a map”…

and more like a real place.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

One of the most interesting parts of a long-term survival world is watching the world accumulate memory instead of constantly wiping it away.

Helpful players become known across the server.

Trusted builders get invited into major projects.

Groups develop identities and histories.

People build differently when they believe the world will still exist years later.

Long-term worlds fundamentally change player behavior.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

And to clarify what we mean by “rare”:

We don’t mean literally the only server without claims.

There are plenty of small friend-group SMPs built on trust.

What feels rare is seeing a large, active, long-term survival world operate this way for real.

No claims.
No locked chests.
No resets.
No monetization holding the culture together.

Just people.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

A shared world that feels less like a disposable server…

and more like a community home.

If this sounds unusual to you…

… that’s kind of the point.

Kindness is our basic building block.

2 years ago I found two spawners next to each other… this is where we are…

About 50 farms here running off the bonemeal. Autosorter for every natural block, mob drop & potion item. 2 years of optimizing afk functionality. Still got some digging to do :)

What Happens When A Minecraft Server Is Built On Trust Instead Of Claims?

Most survival servers use plugins to keep players apart.

Land claims.

Locked containers.

Protected regions.

The assumption is that strangers cannot be trusted.

Cozy MC was built around a different idea.

What happens when a survival world is built on trust instead of separation?

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Cozy MC has no claims.

No locked chests.

No protected bases.

Players share the same world.

The same resources.

The same infrastructure.

The same communities.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

That doesn't mean griefing and theft are allowed.

Quite the opposite.

Everything is logged.

Griefing and theft result in permanent bans.

Players can see container transactions and staff can restore stolen items.

The difference is that we use moderation to remove bad behavior rather than plugins to isolate everyone from one another.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The result is a very different kind of survival experience.

People build roads that cross multiple communities.

They create public farms.

They share resources.

They cooperate on projects that would be difficult to create alone.

Over time, trust becomes part of the culture.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

One thing I've noticed is that people help newcomers differently when they expect to keep seeing them.

A world built on trust encourages interaction.

A world built on claims encourages isolation.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Despite being a long-term world, it never feels finished.

The world has no borders, so there is always new terrain to explore and new places to settle.

New towns are forming.

New projects are starting.

New players are helping shape the future of the world.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Cozy MC is an active vanilla survival community built around that idea.

Not survival with restrictions.

Survival with responsibility.

* Vanilla survival
* Hard difficulty
* Calm and collaborative community
* No claims
* No locked chests
* Strict anti-grief enforcement
* PvP by agreement only
* No payments, donations, or perks
* Java + Bedrock compatible
* No borders
* Long-term world

Diamonds?!

Ello, so I was blessed with 2 children (6 and 9) that are severely allergic to finding diamonds; anything useful tbh but alas 😭. I have found many a diamond ore and would like suggestions on games or something they can earn/find them.

I’m a big fan of fight to the death but it’s frowned upon. TIA!

Strange Spawning Bug On Bedrock 26.32

I was playing survival mode on bedrock edition 26.32

I was swimming from one landmass to another when… this started happening. (Refer to the screenshots provided)

I don’t know why so many happy ghasts were suddenly in the ocean, nor why they were a bunch of different colours. As I kept swimming, more of them kept popping up out of nowhere and all of them were partially in the water. I tried punching them but then they weren’t there?

Please help me make sense of this. Thanks.

An error has occured

I have a 341 Mb world that im trying to make a realm so that me and a few friends can play. The problem is that everytine I try to make the world into a realm once it finishes it immediately switches to an error has occurred and I've spent hours trying to figure out what else I could do or a fix but haven't found anything. This is getting really annoying as each attempt of uploading it takes about 30 minutes.

Me and my friend’s ~3 year old base in my realm

I started this world 3-4 years ago (I honestly don’t remember) with the goal of getting all the achievements on my Xbox. Started out with my brother and I playing when our schedules lined up, and quickly became relatively active with many other friends. The only rules we set were no elytras, and no nether transport to try to make to world feel larger. This ended up being the most unique and fun world I’ve ever played on.

Screenshots:

  1. Our main storage room.

  2. Garden at the top of the storage room. Perhaps one my favourite spots.

  3. Treasure room in the basement.

  4. Some trophies we’ve kept from some of our adventures

  5. Ten 30,000 item silos that we don’t use as much as I thought we would.

  6. Stables on the back of the storage room. We’ve selectively bred horses for hundreds of generations to get the best horses we can. We even built a very accurate timer and test track for it!

  7. Skyline at night.

  8. The map of the base we always try to keep up to date. The whole base is built around a village on a small island. We expanded it whenever we needed space at it just ended up becoming a 227 x 212 x 1 dirt slab.

  9. The Farming tower (Apologies for the particle I didn’t notice until later) Every floor will eventually have an automatic farm. All the drops are sorted in the main floor by copper golems. We’re going to build a glass armoury tower across from it next.

  10. A statue I built of the skin I’ve used since the Xbox 360 days. I’ve been trying to convince my friends to do the same to no avail.

  11. The Cemetery. Any mobs that were particular special or important end up here if they die.

  12. The mountain we have removed all the dirt from to expand the base.

  13. We’ve named almost every villager and mob on our base. None of them are serious.

  14. Ongoing backrooms project.

Feel free to ask any questions!

Bugged social list - Bedrock

Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble with Minecraft on my Xbox One. Everything was working fine until about two days ago, I think. My friends list (inside Minecraft) is now showing 0 friends. Not only that, but when my friend tried to play with me, they couldn't join the world—though they were able to join the "Group," that new Minecraft feature.

When I try to send friend requests, people don't receive them, and I don't receive theirs either. However, the "Last Played With" section still shows these players.

Everything on my Xbox dashboard is completely normal—my console friends list and everything else works fine. These issues are strictly happening within Minecraft.

I have no idea what could be causing this. I haven't changed any settings; from one day to the next, everything just stopped working...

What could be going on? What can I do to fix this?

Is it worth buying?

The only reason I'm not pulling the trigger is because I don't really like the pink, girly stuff plastered all over a lot of the objects and mobs. Plus, I want to use action and other animations, not the ones from this.

Took all day but had fun doing it!

I loved finding the screaming goats. Wish i video that but heres the results! All in survival! If you wanted to know what each one sounded like. The first 4 are the screaming goats!
