Buyer's Anxiety

having second thoughts on preordering dungeons II. I loved dungeons 1 and i bought all the packs and passes for it when they came out, but for some reason, this time its not so easy. I want this game and am extremely excited for it but im having a hard time justifying a preorder of it. I've always had the rule of no preorders, because the worst feeling is preordering a game just for it to not be as good as you thought. Please talk me into or atleast give me some advise about the preorder.

Art Style

So as We all Know, The Direction for the Art Style in Minecraft Dungeons 2 Looks way more Flat and Plastic.

I Personally dont mind it, I believe its Intentional for the game to run well on the Switch 2, Series S and Lower End PC's as well to Put More Resources into Content.

Minecraft Dungeons 1 Looked Great but I think they put Too much Resources in Levels Details and not as much in Content.

I think I just found something

Maybe a coincidence, but I had a big serendipity with the melody from Minecraft Dungeons 2.

That melody sounds VERY similar to a part of a song I heard before called "Into The Feywilds" by Michael Ghelfi and Filip Melvan.

Here's the link to the song on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEkCoLPxAr4

From 3:45 to 4:18

Maybe it's just my paranoia but PLEASE tell me I'm onto something.

THIS IS THE DREAMCRUSHER!!! (Concept Art)

The Dreamcrusher is unique, and causes mobs hit to fall asleep. The asleep mobs are slower, deal less damage and take more. It's ability is: when asleep mobs are attacked, they take more damage, and the longer you wait, the less damage the sleeping strike deals.

Any Other ideas for items? I'm currently working on a pyjama armour set for the...

(Newly named) SLEEPING WORLD DLC

My predictions on the game's overall system.

Most of my takes are based on things I heard briefly.

I don't have insider information or anything, so the things I say might be downright incorrect, so please take my words with a grain of salt. Also, these are just my opinions, so you can disagree if you want. I actually love discussion like that. :>

I heard that all artifacts use souls now. I guess this makes everything more balanced.

It makes me wonder though. Since souls are such important part of the game and Warden and other mobs from the deep dark can interact with soul, does this mean there are mechanics that drains our soul, or enemy that steals the soul that's released? Imagine your souls being used to make your enemies stronger, that's freaky.

I heard about the limited enchantment slots and broader range of concepts that are being introduced to the game. I can't wait to grind on a specific location so I can get a specific gear on a specific rarity; with specific effects, just so I can constantly reroll for enchantment using a four separate currencies that I have to grind for. Joke aside, this isn't necessarily a bad thing. It just means more potential for crazier combinations even though you'd have to grind more for it. Either that or they are trying to genuinely balance the game by adding more parameters that could be adjusted.

I mean, half the fun of the first game was becoming strong, but this have potential to work too if the missions and events are fun. I mean, people will still find a way to create spam builds that creates 200 bees, so I'm not sure this bothers the developers in any ways.

It makes sense too, because harder progression will increase average playtime. Hopefully this means they don't plan on abandoning this game like they did last time.

I hope they don't overdo this though, because I don't know how much I can afford to be "unemployed" with this game, considering my status as a student. I mean, what made the first game pretty brilliant was I didn't felt that much left out for coming back to the game after weeks of breaks. (Mainly because they stopped updating the game, but... uh...)

I don't know how I feel about the talismans. They are pretty cool in concept, so hopefully they don't become insignificant after few updates and balance patches.

I heard something about craftable gears. It's probably going to be useful if you have a specific gear you're looking for, making there use case niche since I don't see how crafting and looting will co-exist in one game while both of them staying equally relevant.

Whichever the case, get ready to manage your inventory well. I hope mine doesn't turn out like it did in the first game, where there's 100 or something gears I had to manually salvage.

Fun fact if you look closely at the ancient city portal, you can actually see small islands appear in the portal which is now actually the first look of the 4th dimension in game and not just concept art

The otherside of the portal in the ancient city is a peaceful place.

In the ancient city there are four music discs: cat, 13, otherside and 5
While Cat is really related with illagers (they even have a giant cat statue) and 13 doesn't have music. disc 5 and otherside are a different story.
All disc 5 is a registration of what happened in the ancient city during the attack. Everything except the second part, which is a chill music, peaceful. The same kind of music can be heard in otherside. Chill, peaceful, without dangers or death. And also relic has the same type of music.
I think that the one who registred and made disc 5 went inside the portal during the second part. This could explain why we can hear that music, he was in a dimension were music is important (we have to use music to lit the portal). So the Otherside of the portal have this kind of music, the same as that part of disc 5, the same as the disc otherside, and we know that the portal is somehow related with the well of fate (its symbols are the same as the shape of the portal in the city), maybe it's the same place, and there is this type of music.
In Minecraft the music represent the type of the ambient. In the overworld the music is peaceful, in the nether isn't. In caves it mysteryous, in the pale garden there are just some creacking sounds that make it spooky.
So my theory is that if we can hear music peaceful and chill from that dimension it should be safe to assume that the dimension in the ancient city isn't a dangerous place, and it's not a sculk dimension.

My favourite feature I’m looking forward too

Honestly the feature I’m most excited for is actually the collectibles teased in the reveal trailer because In dungeons 1 my main hype was that for each level you beat a decoration/trophy got added to your home so I’m really really excited to see how they are going to do it

We will enter the new dimension in the base game

This isn't just speculation anymore, it's confirmed. Here is the evidence: "Experience an all-new chapter in the Minecraft Dungeons saga that takes you across the Overworld... and beyond" Source: (link above). It can't be just End or Nether. We've already been in those places in the first game. It has to be the dimension behind the Ancient City portal. In Bobicraft's video with gameplay (Sorry, I can't provide more links because Reddit doesn't allow more than 1 here) defeating the Twisted Warden clearly isn't the end of the game. The demo ends next to the open Ancient City portal. There is just no way we won't go in there. The game's decription (which you can find on any store with the game) highlights the importance of these 2 dimensions in the sequel: "Journey through unexplored lands and mysterious locations, in a quest to stop a new evil from causing chaos in not one, but two worlds!"
